Christmas is just around the corner which for many means the present lists are out and shopping mode is on. Thinking of what special gifts to get for everyone can be quite a task, however good old homemade treats often spread Christmas joy the most. Cadbury would like to know your homemade gift ideas using chocolate.

Do you create little Christmas chocolate hampers or gift bags? Perhaps you bake a chocolate cake and use individual chocolates or crumbled Flake or Crunchie as decoration? Or maybe you melt your favourite Cadbury chocolate and turn it into lollipops or transform it into your own bespoke chocolate bark to hand out?

Whatever your homemade chocolate gift ideas, share them on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

DS and I are experimenting with hot chocolate stirrers. Melt chocolate, pour into a mould, add toppings and a stick and leave to set. The first couple we tried using shot glasses as moulds which was good as we could melt the chocolate directly in them in the microwave for minimal wastage but getting them out once set was tricky! Silicon ice cube trays are on order...
I also quite fancy making some bark now I have read this thread. Love mint chocolate!

I make christmas pudding with dark chocolate, roll it into small balls, top with a bit of white chocolate and some snipped place cherries and angelica to make mini christmas pudding truffles.

We make homemade fudge using copious amounts of chocolate (luckily the Tesco Value 30p bars are excellent) using the slow cooker.

Minnibix · 23/11/2017 17:44

We melt chocolate and then dip fruit or giant marshmallows, easy but delicious

maisiesnan · 23/11/2017 18:09

Ghirardelli Chocolate Brownie Mix from Costco makes the most divine Brownies. You can customise it by adding all sorts of things, or using the mix in different ways. To make Christmas Brownies, add cinnamon, clove, and dried fruits that have been soaked overnight in booze. Or top them with ganache mixed with fat-free mincemeat.

lolly2011 · 23/11/2017 19:09

we melt our chocolate and make rice crispy cakes

ThemisA · 23/11/2017 19:18

Ginger bread cookies dipped in chocolate are rather nice.

Some of my family are vegan so we make vegan truffles by processing figs, dates, avocado and mixing with chopped nuts and melted dark chocolate. we shape them in balls and coat on cocoa or desiccated coconut and freeze them until ready to eat.

Hertsgirl75 · 23/11/2017 19:19

Use large ice cube trays and fill with melted chocolate and a range of fillings such as popping candy, marshmallows or nuts. Set in fridge and job done. Children love it and no mess.

Hertsgirl75 · 23/11/2017 19:21

Ps silicone trays best as homemade crocs easy to remove,

lovemyflipflops · 23/11/2017 19:39

we make rice krispie, dairy milk and mini marshmallow buns in small cupcake cases, we put them in pretty gift boxes and give them to grandparents. They are a tasty chewy delicacy, easy to make, and keep the little ones entertained and the fact they are helping with Christmas maked them burst with pride when giving the gift.

Funkyferret · 23/11/2017 19:42

Chocolate brownies made with cranberries and cherries, cut into little squares and popped in cellophane bags tied with acres of Christmas ribbon always looks pretty.

Catmadroo · 23/11/2017 19:43

Got some christmas cake and lolly moulds and make gooey chocolate brownies and melt chocolate to make chocolate shapes rather than lollies.

hollowtree · 23/11/2017 19:49

Cadbury's chocolate brownies, cut into triangles then zig-zagged with melted chocolate to look like Christmas trees. We used to use Astros as baubles... I keep hoping they will make a comeback! Along with Marble bars

20ikeameatballs · 23/11/2017 20:02

I am making a mountain of rocky road to give as gifts - lots of allergies at DS' nursery so some made rocky road is perfect - nut free, can use vegan friendly chocolate, gluten free biscuits Smile

I'm also going to make some yummy vegan "ferrero rocher" style treats - if any make it out of "testing" they will be gifts too Grin

Home made chocolate truffles as they can be personalized to a persons taste
