The team behind the new Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson and Jacob Tremblay movie, Wonder, would love to know what Mumsnetters think about the trailer for the film - which opens on 1 December.

PLUS...: If you were lucky enough to be able to attend one of the free screenings (held to celebrate World Kindness Day on November 13th at 300 cinemas across the UK) then please share your movie review below! What did you think of the film? Would you recommend it?

Here's the synopsis: “starring Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson and Jacob Tremblay and based on the New York Times bestseller, WONDER tells the story of August Pullman. Born with facial differences that, up until now, have prevented him from going to a mainstream school, Auggie becomes the most unlikely of heroes when he enters the local fifth grade. As his family, his new classmates, and the larger community all struggle to find their compassion and acceptance, Auggie's extraordinary journey will unite them all and prove you can't blend in when you were born to stand out.”

Watch the trailer here:

~ What did you think?
~ Have you read the book (it’s based on the book by R.J. Palacio)?
~ What looks good about the film?
~ Do you think you’ll go and see it?

Add your review of the trailer (or film if you have seen it) to this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get a £300 voucher for the store of choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

I havent seen the film yet (the preview tickets for Cardiff went ridiculously fast) or read the book

However we are going to go see the film and cant wait - the trailer looks brilliant and I am sure its going to be a real tear jerker - with so many kids now surviving through childhood with illnesses and conditions were they wouldnt have before you are seeing a lot more kids in the playground who do look different so I think seeing them more in media can only be a good thing to make things better for them

We enjoyed it, although I felt it suffered from the 'Hollywood' treatment. The book seemed more genuine.

I think it looks fantastic. I haven't read the book but its just gone on my Amazon wishlist!

I love that its upbeat and celebrates difference.

I hope to see it, will need a baby sitter though, so perhaps in a few weeks.

~ What did you think?
I think the trailer looks amazing, it shows what a moving, entertaining and sometimes comedic story this is.
~ Have you read the book (it’s based on the book by R.J. Palacio)?
Yes I have, it's incredible and I remember feeling like I was on a rollercoaster of emotions. I recall telling everyone they have to read it, which is something I rarely do with books.
~ What looks good about the film?
It looks as though it's going to stay close to the books story which is great. I don't like when films change things too much.
~ Do you think you’ll go and see it?
I absolutely will be going to see it, I can't wait.

What did you think?
Looks like a thought provoking film that'll have you laughing and crying, but you'll come away feeling uplifted.

~ Have you read the book (it’s based on the book by R.J. Palacio)?
No, I've not read the book as I didn't know anything about it. I'm going to see if the local library has it available.

~ What looks good about the film?
Tackles serious issues and highlights how cruel others can be which are rarely shown on the big screen. Jacob Tremblay does an excellent job.

~ Do you think you’ll go and see it?
No as going to local cinema is too expensive I'll wait for it to appear on TV.

I thought the trailer made it look like a sensitive film, but yes I have read the book (which I adored) and nobody looked like i imagined! I will go and see it because I think my kids will enjoy it and it's an important subject for them to consider.

I have just watched the trailer and would definitely go and see the film and I also would like to read the book as other mumsnetters are giving it good reviews. I would take my 7 yr old son to see it too.

Saw the trailer for this at the cinema the other day but watched it again. It looks great, very endearing. Haven't read the book but it looks like a great feel good movie, would be great to watch Augie's confidence grow throughout the movie.

What did you think?
The sort of film everybody should see although the kind I find quite difficult to watch and will probably be in tears throughout.

Have you read the book (it’s based on the book by R.J. Palacio)?
No, haven't heard of it or heard of the film either until now.

What looks good about the film?
It look well put together. It looks like a feel good story with a really important message even if there's a lot of tears along the way.

Do you think you’ll go and see it?
I'm not a big cinema person but as a family we have lots of movie nights in so I'd probably wait until it was on tv and then gather all the family.

I find the trailer quite moving. This is such a relevant issue these days. The book is so important for young people to read. Unfortunately, I will not be going to see the movie as I have 2 special needs kids that don't do well in cinemas. But I will be watching it the first chance I get.

Have you read the book (it’s based on the book by R.J. Palacio)?
No but I'd like to now.
What looks good about the film?
The story of Auggie and how he copes with peoples attitudes towards him.

Yes

After seeing the trailer I would love to see the film. My eldest 2 boys have autism / Aspergers and so I can relate about having a child that is "different" and doesn't quite fit in. Other people's reactions can be very hard to deal with. I haven't got free tickets but will make a point of going to see it.
