Now that the nights are drawing in, and with half term around the corner, movie nights can be a great way to spend some quality time with your family and enjoy the warm indoors. To celebrate their new collection of Animated movies, Sky Cinema would like to hear about your family’s favourite animation films, both new and old.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “This October, Sky Cinema has put together our biggest ever collection of animated movies to brighten up your Autumn. The collection includes a wide range of animated movies, from the latest hits such as Sing and Kubo and the Two Strings to Disney-Pixar movies like The Incredibles or the Ice Age movies. All available to watch whenever you want on demand.”

Has a recent release, such as Secret Life of Pets or Trolls, become a firm favourite? Or, do you love the nostalgia of passing on a classic like Fantasia? Whether your family prefer the new ones or the classics, or both, Sky Cinema would like to hear about your favourite animation films - and why they manage to make it onto the list.

All who post below about their family’s favourite animation films will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

My kids can't get enough of Trolls (for some reason)

Rae1000 · 08/10/2017 20:51

Probably the whole family's favourite is the toy story trilogy. Great for kids and adults alike!

orionleah2012 · 08/10/2017 21:35

We love Trolls, so funny and enjoyable for the kids :) ..

Treaclespongeandcustard · 08/10/2017 21:39

I like Moana best because it shows my daughter that girls can be heroes too.

Sleepysausage · 08/10/2017 22:29

Our dd lives the original Jungle Book film

ShizzaAhmed · 09/10/2017 07:09

Me and my son absolutely love watching Disney. I personally love the Winnie the pooh collection whereas my son is more of a robin hood and lion king fan. We do love watching Moana and secret life of pets together though. Smile

Lulabellx1 · 09/10/2017 10:13

Lion King and the Little Mermaid are my all-time faves, although I think that just tells you something about my age.

With regards to more modern animation films. I love all the Toy Story films and I think Up is one of the most beautiful films ever made :)

del2929 · 09/10/2017 10:19

rattatouile is a fave for me.

grandajimmy · 09/10/2017 10:22

Nemo will always be top of the list for me & my grandchildren they love it & we must have watched it upteen times! It's a fun & happy film but we have also shed a little tear for Nemo!

I have made my son watch so many Disney movies his favourites are the ones with heros like big hero 6 and I just love the classics like the lion king. There is something for everyone in a Disney film

sharond101 · 09/10/2017 12:45

I love the Toy Story films as they appeal to all ages with disguised adult humour thrown in you can giggle along too.

shezlamb · 09/10/2017 15:43

A classic in my home is always "The Lion King"...... but my daughter used to love "Gnomeo and Juliet"

SillyMoomin · 09/10/2017 16:36

I have a huge fondness for Monsters University.

Monsters Inc I can give or take, but I love the University one, seeing how everyone made their paths through life, working up from the Mailroom to becoming a Scarer. Genuinely brilliant film

Sezza110 · 09/10/2017 16:46

My favourite animation of all time is Zootropolis without a doubt. I actually thought the message was so positive for children, to follow your dreams no matter how challenging it may be. Also, I was laughing throughout as well, credit to the writers because it was brilliantly written.

UpOnDown · 09/10/2017 17:29

we love shrek

mitalmanda · 09/10/2017 18:58

We loved Big Hero 6, loved it more than we thought, and shed a tear for Baymax at the end. Forgot it was an animation, my daughter and I were hooked from start to finish and a great movie to watch on the big screen at the cinema...fist bump :-)

StillCantDecideOnaUsername · 09/10/2017 19:09

Moana and Sing are the top animated films in our house at the moment- brilliant soundtrack in both of them and they keep dd(3) and ds(2) entertained throughout. Thank God for Sky movies!!!

BillywigSting · 09/10/2017 20:06

Ariatocats will always be a favourite of mine and ds loves shrek and despicable me.

I saw an animated film called Song of the Sea for the first time today and totally fell in love.
Set in Ireland and about a boy and his selkie sister. It's really beautiful

Falconhoof1 · 09/10/2017 21:31

Really love Moana at the moment. DD knows all the words to "your welcome".

bababia · 09/10/2017 21:40

Lion King is, without a doubt, my favourite, favourite. Ratatouille was also great!

StealthNinjaMum · 09/10/2017 21:58

My favourite animated film is The Jungle Book, I still know all the word to all the songs and shed a tear when I think Balloo is dead.

A close second - and this is probably the family's favourite- is Shrek.

Amaksy · 09/10/2017 22:01

I love all the Ice Age movies and Happy Feet too. I must admit I went to see Frozen when it was released in cinema but not sure I can sit through it again after all the hype

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 09/10/2017 22:52

I love the animation of Oliver Jeffers 'lost and found'. It is so simply and beautifully done and I tear up everytime I see it.
The voice over is lovely but a lot of the story and the comedy is in the pictures.

I often use it with pupils and always get beautiful writing from it.

TimandGinger · 09/10/2017 23:01

DS loves Cars. He also likes the Angry Birds film (though he found it scary the first time he watched it). The Lion King is also a big favourite and we listen to the music from that and from other Disney films a lot in the car.

shewhomustbeEbayed · 10/10/2017 08:08

Tangled, me and my dd 14 often talk about it ( I often sing her "Mother knows best" )
Inside Out especially the bit with the dad not listening !
