Now that the nights are drawing in, and with half term around the corner, movie nights can be a great way to spend some quality time with your family and enjoy the warm indoors. To celebrate their new collection of Animated movies, Sky Cinema would like to hear about your family’s favourite animation films, both new and old.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “This October, Sky Cinema has put together our biggest ever collection of animated movies to brighten up your Autumn. The collection includes a wide range of animated movies, from the latest hits such as Sing and Kubo and the Two Strings to Disney-Pixar movies like The Incredibles or the Ice Age movies. All available to watch whenever you want on demand.”

Has a recent release, such as Secret Life of Pets or Trolls, become a firm favourite? Or, do you love the nostalgia of passing on a classic like Fantasia? Whether your family prefer the new ones or the classics, or both, Sky Cinema would like to hear about your favourite animation films - and why they manage to make it onto the list.

All who post below about their family’s favourite animation films will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

I have lost count of the number of times we have watched the current favourites - Beauty and the Beast (original Disney animated one, not the new one), Wreck it Ralph, Ice Age, and Tangled. He definitely loves princess films as previously we watched Frozen approximately 5000 times a day or so it felt! He also really loves Brave and Moana.

I haven't introduced him to any Ghibli yet, can't wait! I adore Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, Nausicaa, and Princess Mononoke (the latter might have to wait a few years!)

'Flushed Away' is absolutely brilliant - the singing slugs completely steal the show. My favourite, though, is Terry Pratchett's 'Truckers'. I had it on video many years ago and lent it to someone, and they never returned it. I'd love to pass it on to my DSDs, because the story is fabulous and the animation is so clever.

It has been and always will be The Little Mermaid- i've loved that film since i was 2! I also think Beauty and the Beast has one of the most elegant and beautiful beginnings of any animated film. I well up at the beginning just because it's literally so perfect. I love Lilo and Stitch too, i went to the cinema to watch it with my best friend around the age of 13- i thought it was great, so different to their other films.

Newer films that we've watched as a family that have become family favourites are Hotel Transylvania, ParaNorman and Coraline (stop frame animation).

My little girls loves the movie Ballerina, think it's because she has ballet lessons

Cailin7 · 20/10/2017 00:13

Fox and the Hound, Toy Story and Despicable Me

rejcomp · 20/10/2017 00:53

I have to admit I can still watch "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" does that count as animated?

tubbyj · 20/10/2017 00:55

love the toy story series of films

MAT12 · 20/10/2017 09:52

We love shrek because it is so funny, the humor is for all ages.

pixelwife · 20/10/2017 11:09

We absolutely love the Hotel Transylvania films! The characters are great and we've adopted bleurgh, ble, bleurgh as a catchphrase in our family!

mimble21 · 20/10/2017 13:20

I love the nostalgia of curling up and watching the animated version of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. It never fails to make me happy :)

Noofly · 20/10/2017 13:46

The Lion King will always be DD’s favourite film, and by extension, the whole family’s. Grin

laurapotz · 20/10/2017 15:53

My daughter's new favourite is Trolls - she loves the music in it (and so do I).

lotte321 · 20/10/2017 16:32

Me and my girls love Zootropolis. It gets viewed on a daily basis. The sloth scene is our favourite.

littlemonkeyz · 20/10/2017 19:24

The only film that my little boy will watch is the remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He loves reading the book and is fascinated by the characters. He worries a lot about the fate of them!

bex552 · 20/10/2017 20:35

Moana and trolls are our favourites at the moment

glmcall123 · 20/10/2017 21:21

Apart from anything Disney, the whole family love Shrek. All my DCs love Studio Ghibli (although I find them a bit strange) and my DD9 loved Kubo and the Two Strings even though it's quite dark.

ANNEKS · 21/10/2017 01:02

It’s got to be the Snowman...awww made me all nostalgic x

ozbird1 · 21/10/2017 07:48

Toy story has to be the best

barbsbarbs · 21/10/2017 08:13

that would be the walt disney classic Bambi, its such a poignant fil and we always watch together as a family.

Lasplin84 · 21/10/2017 09:49

My family and I absolutely love Sing. There is a great balance of adult humour and children's entertainment there.

To be honest when i was a child I wasn't really into the animated films, I much prefer them now!

user1496613447 · 21/10/2017 10:23

Trolls - I never would like these films normally but my fiancée,stepson and baby daughter love it so I watched ...... 52 watches later I still love it !!

mrsdeedow · 21/10/2017 11:29

Finding Nemo x

Loftzilla · 21/10/2017 11:46

I love the Studio Ghibli films, the artwork is beautiful, some are a bit dark for young children (Spirited Away) but my grandchildren love My Neighbour Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service. Toy Story, all of them, are favourites too, and an older favourite is Jungle Book, love the songs!

Emmamaryd · 21/10/2017 18:41

Despicable me. Could watch it over and over.
