Now that the nights are drawing in, and with half term around the corner, movie nights can be a great way to spend some quality time with your family and enjoy the warm indoors. To celebrate their new collection of Animated movies, Sky Cinema would like to hear about your family’s favourite animation films, both new and old.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “This October, Sky Cinema has put together our biggest ever collection of animated movies to brighten up your Autumn. The collection includes a wide range of animated movies, from the latest hits such as Sing and Kubo and the Two Strings to Disney-Pixar movies like The Incredibles or the Ice Age movies. All available to watch whenever you want on demand.”

Has a recent release, such as Secret Life of Pets or Trolls, become a firm favourite? Or, do you love the nostalgia of passing on a classic like Fantasia? Whether your family prefer the new ones or the classics, or both, Sky Cinema would like to hear about your favourite animation films - and why they manage to make it onto the list.

All who post below about their family’s favourite animation films will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

My great niece loves my favourite Disney film, The Aristocrats. She loves me telling me the story about how I named my first cat after Thomas O'Malley the Alley Cat from the film & the spooky story about how he came to me & how he changed me from having a terrible phobia about cats to now being the proverbial crazy cat lady

Lion King - the songs still bring me out in goose pimples

MakeUpGirl · 19/10/2017 08:48

I love Classic Disney with my favourite being Beauty and the Beast. One of my all time favourite animated films though is An American Tail.
My DD isn't at all interested in older films though, her favourites are Frozen and Trolls. She spends most days acting out scenes from them with her toys

We love Snow White & Sleeping Beauty and watch them over and over.

My 5 year old son loves new films, becomes obsessed with them and watches them over and over again until another new film comes out! Secret Life of Pets was his favourite film and then Zootopia, then Trolls, Sing and then Captain Underpants!

AR2012 · 19/10/2017 10:10

Moana is the firm favorite in our household

mo3733 · 19/10/2017 10:26

we love the shrek films and watch them on a loop on a rainy sunday afternoon

Dormouse1940 · 19/10/2017 10:32

My son's favourite is 'Room on the Broom', with 'The Gruffalo' and 'Gruffalo's Child' also being big hits. I think they're destined to become classics, and I love that he adored the books first because seeing them brought to the screen was really magical.
It's becoming a bit of a Christmas tradition now, looking forward to the latest animated adaptation....(although we don't actually have a telly, so we save it for when we visit Granny!)

createbeauty · 19/10/2017 10:35

My son loves ParaNorman, Boxtrolls, and Moana.

I love Coraline!

Up always makes me tear up! It's a great film for all the family. I'm also a big fan of watching Despicable Me with the little one - we both love the characters and the minions especially!

My daughter adores Disney's Aladdin.

We know all the dialogue as it's watched regularly. When she grows up she wants to be just like Princess Jasmine... it's a lovely magical dream for her 😃
