Now that the nights are drawing in, and with half term around the corner, movie nights can be a great way to spend some quality time with your family and enjoy the warm indoors. To celebrate their new collection of Animated movies, Sky Cinema would like to hear about your family’s favourite animation films, both new and old.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “This October, Sky Cinema has put together our biggest ever collection of animated movies to brighten up your Autumn. The collection includes a wide range of animated movies, from the latest hits such as Sing and Kubo and the Two Strings to Disney-Pixar movies like The Incredibles or the Ice Age movies. All available to watch whenever you want on demand.”

Has a recent release, such as Secret Life of Pets or Trolls, become a firm favourite? Or, do you love the nostalgia of passing on a classic like Fantasia? Whether your family prefer the new ones or the classics, or both, Sky Cinema would like to hear about your favourite animation films - and why they manage to make it onto the list.

All who post below about their family’s favourite animation films will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

sm2012 · 18/10/2017 21:37

We love new animations as much as old ones! Classic disney films like Bambi and Dumbo get watched as much as Trolls and Inside Out. I think if an animation film is good it will be watched forever :)

RACHELSMITH45 · 18/10/2017 21:57

My daughter absolutely loves Trolls film! 100% chance of watching it every single weekend for family movie night ;-)

IonaAilidh11 · 18/10/2017 22:10

has to be finding nemo

domesticslattern · 18/10/2017 22:11

We love Japanese animation.
I would recommend The Red Turtle, which is very beautiful and moving. The whole family enjoyed it, including the little one (and DH cried Blush). It has no words (I know! I know!) but somehow it is never boring or slow. Bits of it were so funny and clever, all of us were rapt.
I really recommend it if you want something slightly different.

Toy Story is always a favourite in our house, as is Shrek, we always watch it whenever it comes on telly and it never gets old or boring. I have tried to steer my son towards old classics like Pinocchio, Pete's Dragon (with Mickey Rooney) and the like, but he prefers the more modern animated films, such a shame as they are so lovely to watch and I find them strangely hypnotic and calming.

feeona123 · 18/10/2017 22:12

I've downloaded Trolls for the kids to watch and they love it! We watched it today actually! It keeps them entertained for an hour or so!

snowplop · 18/10/2017 22:15

My 3 DCs love How to Train Your Dragon. I love Tangled, Big Hero 6 and any Ghibli film. Dp can't choose his favourite; I asked him 2 mins ago and he's still naming them: Toy Story, Nemo, Big Hero 6....

itsali · 18/10/2017 22:18

I love the classics like Snow White etc.

arat · 18/10/2017 22:24

The recent one that we've enjoyed most is Sing, but the one that DCs keep coming back to is The Simpsons Movie

melmoo · 18/10/2017 22:31

We've made ours watch our old favourites but they never like them as much as the newer ones. In my opinion the old classics (Bambi, Dumbo etc) had more sad elements ..... that seem to have gone from the modern ones.

RueDeWakening · 18/10/2017 22:34

Don't think I can pick one! I've had to do a top 10 instead Grin

We love:
Book of Life (possibly my favourite)
Beauty and the Beast
The Incredibles
Cars (and Cars 2, and the Mater shorts)
Despicable Me, 2 & 3, and The Minions
Toy Story
The Little Mermaid
Fantasia - and the recent remake of it
Wreck It Ralph
The Lego Movie

pinkjjf27 · 18/10/2017 22:37

Our family favourite animation series of films is Toy Story, such a timeless story and one we can sit and watch over and over

lhlee62 · 18/10/2017 23:15

We love Wreck It Ralph at the moment, the kids want to watch it everyday, a few weeks ago we walked Trolls and before that it was Mr Peabody and Sherman.

KittyKat88 · 18/10/2017 23:30

I love Wreck it Ralph (to the point that my DDs know that they can't watch Ralph without mummy!!). Our family favourite is Book of Life, which is just so unique and amazing and is beautiful and funny and full of heart!

thesockgap · 19/10/2017 07:36

We never tire of the Pixar films even though two of my kids are now well into their teens! They have been watched so many times over the years that we can almost recite along with them. Particularly Cars, which my middle son used to watch about 3 times a day when he was a toddler!

angiehoggett · 19/10/2017 07:57

It's got be the classic Bambi!
