The team at Baby Alive® would love to hear all the funny things you have heard your child say to their doll - have they copied something you have said but at not quite the right moment, do they treat them like their own baby and love them gently, whispering lullabies or have they been very bossy and told them all off?

Please share your funny tales on this thread!

In case you don’t know about Baby Alive® - they say “Baby Alive® turns real mummy and daddy moments into a magical world of play. More than adorable dolls, they’re babies that talk, eat, drink, wet, and laugh — just like real babies! Kids become the grown-ups, experiencing first-hand what it’s like to be a parent who is excited, delighted, and surprised by all the many ways they can nurture and play. Using accessories based on each baby's theme, they can feed her an actual drink, change her nappy when she really wets, care for her when she is poorly and much more. Baby Alive encourages real moments of connection and discovery that bring alive the love inside of every child.”

Add your comment and you will be entered into a prize draw where one person will win a £300 Toys R Us voucher.

Thanks and good luck

‘Sorry darling, I can’t pick you up I’ve just had a hysterectomy’ Heard my daughter say to Baby Annabelle when she was four (and I had just had a hysterectomy Grin)

hibbertheather · 03/10/2017 00:12

'I'll get you next time!!'

colleenw · 03/10/2017 10:45

My daughter told her doll 'don't cry baby, I'll feed you now' and took her top off to impersonate breast feeding. 'Mummy I have milk in my boobies like you' (I was feeding her new baby sister)

manfalou · 03/10/2017 11:28

My son has a doll (called Evan !) ... He put it in another room and then came to the bottom of the stairs and shouted 'Evvvaaannn. come and get your breakfast before it goes soggy' haha

grannybiker · 03/10/2017 11:53

"If I have to come up there again you'll be sorry!" once she tucked dolly into bed. Wonder where that came from....

MrsBee77 · 03/10/2017 17:10

My DS used to walk round the house "breastfeeding" his doll!

torthecatlady · 03/10/2017 17:37

My dss regularly holds "birthday parties" for his dolls and asks to bake cakes for them.

The funniest thing I have heard him say to one of his dolls, (after taking one of our cats to the vet for a check up) was "Oh dear. Are you bad? Are you not well? Do you need a thermometer up your bum?"

Cringe. Grin

PorridgeAgainAbney · 03/10/2017 21:14

DS talks to his soft toys, mostly telling them off for being naughty by saying "excuse me, no, stop doing that or I will put you in the bin". Hopefully he hasn't copied that from me, I've made a lot of threats but I don't think I've ever said I'd put him in the bin...yet.

BL0SS0M · 04/10/2017 00:48

My dd asked her doll when will it's hair grow!

Pigeonpea · 04/10/2017 15:27

My little girl has genuine conversations with her dolls and invites them to tea. They get told that if they don't try everything on the plate and eat as much as they can, they won't get any ice cream ......

bubbleybooboo · 04/10/2017 15:52

We had just found out we were expecting a baby boy and we took our little girl to the toy shop to buy her a doll she had been wanting. She chose a boy doll. One day we passed her bedroom and we overheard her saying 'when you become real, me and you are going to cause some mischeif!' We couldnt do anything but laugh. She was convinced that because she was having a little brother that the boy doll was going to come real and it just took a few months to make that happen!

Smellophant87 · 04/10/2017 22:56

My 3 year old son is quite taken with pretending to breastfeed his doll at the moment! I am currently breastfeeding his younger brother.

fazkin · 05/10/2017 12:25

my daughter was sitting with her dolly pretending to watch a movie and have popcorn and I heard her offering her dolls, "more cockporn?"

ThenBellaDidSomethingVeryKind · 05/10/2017 13:51

My dc tend to parrot things they've heard me say. Their dolls are often in trouble / being naughty and they'll shout 'I can't hear myself think!' or 'How many times do I have to say it?!' 😂

DinosaurSex · 05/10/2017 14:58

My son is primarily nonverbal so doesn't talk to his dolls, but I once found him parading around the living room with it tucked under his tshirt like a baby bump.

jen1984j · 05/10/2017 20:22

why is my sister so good

Lulabellx1 · 06/10/2017 13:01

My DD plays with her dolls in an American accent, what's that all about??

Hopezibah · 06/10/2017 21:41

Just last night my daughter got frustrated with a 'princess jasmin' doll she has because her outfit always keeps slipping off - "oh she must have grown and her clothes don't fit her anymore" my daughter tells me. Then she realises that dolls don't "grow" and looks really puzzled!

Wishingandwaiting · 07/10/2017 08:57

It’s all quite terrifying here.

Lots of kidnapping, police chasing, running away from basies.

I heard my daughter whisper to her “baby”. “It’s ok, we will get through this together”Smile

JayJay1874 · 07/10/2017 22:47

Feeding her doll with a bottle of milk, Ari said 'drink up, you have to drink it all or the cows will get cross.'

svalentine60 · 08/10/2017 00:08

I heard my daughter in her room last weekend talking to someone. I stood outside the door and she was shouting "What have i told you? You've been warned and now you're going to have to sit in the corner for the whole day." I went in and found her with her favourite baby doll that drinks and wees. It had apparently had a wee in its nappy and my daughter was incensed about it. She was genuninely cross lol

TiggersAngel7774 · 08/10/2017 08:50

I bet you cant eat anymore as there too much poop in your tummy

rocketriffs · 08/10/2017 09:39

DS was out in the garden playing on the trampolene and I could hear him talking to someone. "Wow! Awesome! A triple back flip! That's 300 points!!" Turns out he was talking to his sisters Barbie who he put on the trampoline and was getting bounced about as he jumped up and down.

tabbaz123 · 08/10/2017 14:51

I can remember my daughter having a stand off with her doll - I heard her say - OK young lady you are not being nice and until you talk nicely to me I am not talking to you .....she then sat down staring at her and every so often said "well, are you going to play nicely now" lol

fayesmummy · 08/10/2017 17:27

Having them all lined up while she took a register and taught them maths. Cute and funny.
