The team at Baby Alive® would love to hear all the funny things you have heard your child say to their doll - have they copied something you have said but at not quite the right moment, do they treat them like their own baby and love them gently, whispering lullabies or have they been very bossy and told them all off?

Please share your funny tales on this thread!

In case you don’t know about Baby Alive® - they say “Baby Alive® turns real mummy and daddy moments into a magical world of play. More than adorable dolls, they’re babies that talk, eat, drink, wet, and laugh — just like real babies! Kids become the grown-ups, experiencing first-hand what it’s like to be a parent who is excited, delighted, and surprised by all the many ways they can nurture and play. Using accessories based on each baby's theme, they can feed her an actual drink, change her nappy when she really wets, care for her when she is poorly and much more. Baby Alive encourages real moments of connection and discovery that bring alive the love inside of every child.”

Add your comment and you will be entered into a prize draw where one person will win a £300 Toys R Us voucher.

Thanks and good luck

It was more something she said to me about the doll. My daughter has got the Baby Annabell that cries until you burp it, feed it etc. One day it wouldn't stop crying so I said 'Your doll is crying, she must be hungry.' She picked up said doll, threw it at me and said 'You're it's Granny, you feed it!' And you know what? I did :-)

The way DS2 treats his Bear sometimes, I say, "I'm glad you're not my daddy!" 😂

kkhimji · 26/09/2017 17:36

Daughter asked the doll to sing her a song!

Dormouse1940 · 26/09/2017 20:34

Not a doll, but my toddler son has quite a large Dragon doll that he carries round the house 'showing' him things.

Turns out, this Dragon isn't potty trained and I'm often being asked for wipes because 'Dragon's pooed, mummy'. He then dutifully raises the dragon's legs and starts swabbing him down with the wipes.

It's quite endearing, really....Hmm

Sillysausage123 · 26/09/2017 20:47

My DD once asked her doll why she didn't have a beard on her front bum like mummy has!

Rigbyroo · 26/09/2017 20:58

Dd mimics how I was when she was a baby! It's lovely. She also hides the creepy fecker everywhere to freak us out. In our bed, underneath piles of clothes, in our wardrobe. It's terrifying!

My little niece woke up one night saying the dolly was biting her toes and trying to eat them ?
What a strange dream to have😂

lovewatchingrainfall · 27/09/2017 12:33

When playing Doctors with her dolls I hear. It’s okay it’s not going to hurt but then I will buy you a new toy because I did say it won’t hurt but it hurt a lot

NeverTwerkNaked · 27/09/2017 19:26

My daughter sounds just like me when she talks to her dolls, it’s alarming hearing her echo-ing what I say sometimes.
She’s always telling them “in a minute” and saying “dinner’s nearly ready”

DillieDoily · 27/09/2017 23:09

Constantly putting her doll on time out so she "can think about what she's done"!

2014newme · 28/09/2017 16:40

Calling dolly 'baby brother' and pretending he's her little brother. She's a twin, I think she fancied being the older one!

ha2el · 28/09/2017 17:20

He gives his action man encouraging words like " I know that you will do your best!"

Jesswoods1992 · 28/09/2017 18:02

My daughter shouted at her baby you just wait until your dad gets home he won't be happy now will he!

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 28/09/2017 20:38

My DD2 used to have conversations with her dolly playing in her room. The regular and main line being 'let's pretend the mummy and daddy have died'

frizz69 · 28/09/2017 21:11

my DD will undress her dolls and then start screaming with laughter asking her baby to stop farting on her bed ?!!! Hmm

Rainbowsaretoo · 28/09/2017 21:59

Jane was pretending her and her toys were at 'big' school. She went and grabbed her brother light saber and said 'now we are at school, it's time to cut your hair' .... let's hope that doesn't happen!

par05 · 28/09/2017 22:00

Teaching my dd how to read, and she was holding her baby doll while learning, i asked her to read a word, and she said "oh I don't know that word" and proceeded to ask her baby to help and then put on a voice and said " that says she sat on the mat silly Billy " and then in her normal voice she said thank you baby 😁 cracked me up!

fivekidsonemum · 28/09/2017 22:11

My 4 yr old is the only girl with 4 brothers, her dolls get smothered with love & the next second will be playing with worms.

The funniest thing I've heard her say was "now Georgie (doll) hide the colours under that pillow or my naughty brother will tell my mummy that you drew on the wall and you have to say he's telling big fat lies and he did it and show her where he hid the colours in his bed, Georgie don't smile mum knows we smile when we did it do this" - she then made a sad face turned around saw me standing in her doorway and burst into tears blamed her brother and threw poor Georgie at the wall !! So now when she does anything wrong I ask her 1st if Georgie did it and she still tries to blame the doll for everything!! Hmm

pfcpompeysarah · 28/09/2017 22:19

My niece was being told off and she grabbed hold of her doll and said to her 'See I told you they would blame me, that's the last time I listen to you'.

gemmie797 · 28/09/2017 22:51

My son was always checking his baby (Dave) to see if he'd "pooed in his nappy yet"

ForTheLoveOfSleep · 29/09/2017 09:55

Dd2 was "argueing" with her doll and said "If don't listen to me he'll take your soul." .... Confused

ApocalypseNowt · 29/09/2017 09:55

DD acts like a put upon housewife from the 60's. She has 5 babies but 'their daddy isn't here anymore'.
Me: "Oh really, where's daddy?"
DD: "He died. In an accident."
Me: .....
DD: "They have a new daddy"
Me: "Great!"
DD: "But he ran away"
Me: ......
DD: "Humph. All these kids I've got to look after...."

For info, DH is alive and well and still living in the family home, she's never known anyone who has died and we don't watch Eastenders. No idea where she gets this stuff from. She was 3 when the above conversation took place!

swizzlestix · 29/09/2017 11:51

My son aged 3 at the time and recently potty trained watched me intently as I got dressed one morning and said 'Mummy I'm so proud of you wearing your big girl knickers' 😊
Must admit I was pretty proud myself!

slbhill42 · 29/09/2017 12:53

reading Biff, Chip and Kipper to them!

GherkinsOnToast · 29/09/2017 17:34

My DD (then 3) was in the loo so I switched on baby Annabelle and got her to crying point then left her outside the door, this tiny voice yelled :'What do I have to do to pee in peace!'

Can't think where she might have heard that.
