The team at Baby Alive® would love to hear all the funny things you have heard your child say to their doll - have they copied something you have said but at not quite the right moment, do they treat them like their own baby and love them gently, whispering lullabies or have they been very bossy and told them all off?

Please share your funny tales on this thread!

In case you don’t know about Baby Alive® - they say “Baby Alive® turns real mummy and daddy moments into a magical world of play. More than adorable dolls, they’re babies that talk, eat, drink, wet, and laugh — just like real babies! Kids become the grown-ups, experiencing first-hand what it’s like to be a parent who is excited, delighted, and surprised by all the many ways they can nurture and play. Using accessories based on each baby's theme, they can feed her an actual drink, change her nappy when she really wets, care for her when she is poorly and much more. Baby Alive encourages real moments of connection and discovery that bring alive the love inside of every child.”

Add your comment and you will be entered into a prize draw where one person will win a £300 Toys R Us voucher.

DS led his doll on the floor then began feeding the baby by putting a jelly tot against the dolls mouth. He turned away for a second, the jelly tot slipped from his hand and slid down the side of the doll that was facing away from him. His face was a picture of shock and amazement as he genuinely believed the doll had eaten it. After that he would repeatedly try to feed the doll a variety of things. We often heard him giving the doll a stern telling off for never eating anything other than the jelly tot.

we were sat in the car, I was in the front and my DC was in her car seat, and baby Annabelle was in her car seat. I was fastening my seat belt when I heard a whisper 'Buckle up Annie this Bi%%tch means business' Then I realised it was something I had said under my breath when trying to get in to a parking space in Tesco's, and had not realised I had been heard #Mortified

My DS playing with his playmobil play house, mummy talking to the baby .... "you like tired, here have some wine!"

GeekyWombat · 23/09/2017 19:39

"Give me a break kid!"

Yeah, that would be me...

Named her Jesus. That was a little uncomfortable.

We had been to a friend's house who had a young baby. When we got home my daughter said it was time to feed her baby.
When I saw her next, she was 'breast feeding' her baby with her top down. It was lovely.

My DD was frustrated with her doll, and told me she was never going to become a Mum.

"All they do is sleep and cry, and puke over your clothes"

Rosehips · 24/09/2017 12:19

I'm always being bossily given baby dolls to breatfeed

Ren1974 · 24/09/2017 13:16

My daughter recently "married" her toy tigger after which she announced to him "now that we are married I am the boss and you have to do what i say" :)

My daugher used to play "schools", and one doll in particular was regularly in trouble. So much so that this particular doll had their own "behavour book " which she had to sign every night

Early this morning I had to help dd (4) get Barbie's shoes on. (Dreadful silver platform stripper shoes). Turns out Barbie needed to put her shoes on to facilitate kicking Chelsea repeatedly in the head :s DD then scolded her and said 'Now Chelsea has died'. Not the best start to a Sunday morning...

DS2 has a Bear, who I have to treat as another DC. In a school meeting: "Shhh Bear, I can't hear!" In a stage whisper! Blush

NerrSnerr · 25/09/2017 11:47

My 3 year old is convinced her doll is her baby brothers best friend. He's not allowed to go anywhere without it.

kateandme · 25/09/2017 12:00

I wish my other sister would be quite like you are when I ask her too!

Marcipex · 25/09/2017 13:03

Aged 2, she walked to school with a dolly stuck up her t shirt. When another parent kindly enquired whether the baby was a boy or a girl, she answered 'I don't know, it's not borned yet.' in tones of absolute scorn.

honeyandginger48 · 25/09/2017 19:23

My daughter had a register for her dolls and would call out their names just like at school. She would give them house points/stars and school jobs to do and even put them on the 'sad side' if they were 'not making the right choices'.

naomi83mother · 25/09/2017 19:37

My 3 year old got on the bus with me and her baby/doll and announced to the bus driver that her 'baby has a bum'

windowmouse · 25/09/2017 20:07

My daughter is constantly telling her doll to behave, clearly that is what she hears from me the most!

Sleepysausage · 25/09/2017 20:09

My daughter seems convinced there is a baby in her dolls tummy. She doesn't often play with her doll but when she does she always says it has a baby in its tummy. No idea why

Rae1000 · 25/09/2017 20:35

"I wish your arms would come off so it would be easier to dress you!"

CherriesInTheSnow · 25/09/2017 20:46

My DD is only 2 and she has bunny, but treats it just like a doll Halo

Her favourite things to "sit down bunny" very firmly! And will scold him if he falls over! Adorable Grin

Treysanatomy · 25/09/2017 21:12

"If you do fart again you're going back in the toy box"

Megansmumsie · 25/09/2017 22:36

My daughter was always really lovely and sweet with her baby dolls, she always made sure they were fed and clothed, with their next lot of 'washing' ready under her changing centre- she on more than one occasion 'gave birth' to her doll, whom she called Baby Neil- the baby (yes she did watch Gavin and Stacey with us and it clearly stuck) which included A LOT of panting, huffing and puffing and 'pushing'. She was always incredibly dramatic about it! It was very funny. And you can only refer to Neil as specifically Baby Neil- the baby... still!

When she first went to McDonalds she thought a happy meal was called a happy Neil and she wanted one because she thought it had something to do with her dolly!

She also thought that baby born dolls were called baby Paw and to this day her doll is still referred to as baby Paw!

cwalliss82 · 26/09/2017 05:16

When I was pregnant with my DS, we explained to my DD about babies and birth. She now regularly plays "being born" and continues to stuff her "baby" down her leggings and then scream lots as she pulls it back out before cradling it and wanting to show it off. Thankfully, this has so far been undertaken in the home. Lets hope that she doesn't decide to start doing it at nursery.

SuzCG · 26/09/2017 12:29

My DD was playing with her dolls and asked if they were the right size for a baby - and I said yes, they were pretty life like. To which she replied - wow, that must really hurt, pooping one of those out!
