The team at Baby Alive® would love to hear all the funny things you have heard your child say to their doll - have they copied something you have said but at not quite the right moment, do they treat them like their own baby and love them gently, whispering lullabies or have they been very bossy and told them all off?

Please share your funny tales on this thread!

In case you don’t know about Baby Alive® - they say “Baby Alive® turns real mummy and daddy moments into a magical world of play. More than adorable dolls, they’re babies that talk, eat, drink, wet, and laugh — just like real babies! Kids become the grown-ups, experiencing first-hand what it’s like to be a parent who is excited, delighted, and surprised by all the many ways they can nurture and play. Using accessories based on each baby's theme, they can feed her an actual drink, change her nappy when she really wets, care for her when she is poorly and much more. Baby Alive encourages real moments of connection and discovery that bring alive the love inside of every child.”

Add your comment and you will be entered into a prize draw where one person will win a £300 Toys R Us voucher.

Thanks and good luck

My daughter told her snack and noodles doll ( who she has named Ria ) that mummy needs to do more exercise and got her dolly to show me how to do it- picture below.

She is 6 years old and for her last birthday in February we ordered 2 dolls from America and when they arrived she cried with happiness, she watches them on YouTube and treats her dollies like princesses.
I even overheard her telling Lily and Molly that she loves them more than me- charming Grin

During a long car journey DD (then 1) told me "oh no. Poo. Poo." So I asked if she needed a nappy change and she said "yes, nappy change. Big poo." After dutifully pulling off the motorway at the next services, it transpired that it wasn't DD that had pooed, but her dolly.

My DD was sat next to me whilst I was feeding DS2, got her baby doll (who’s name is baby wipe!) pulled her top up, held it in her mouth & put the baby to her chest saying “it’s milk time, feeding on my ninnies!” Smile

My son is currently obsessed with 'baby', who is anything that looks vaguely human. The Tombliboos are currently very definitely babies, although that doesn't mean they get cared for, just carried around the house and then abandoned.

My daughter loves Baby Alives and has fifteen different ones! She has a whole nursery set up in age group categories and makes lots of special potions to feed them. She plays preschool with the older ones and has a particularly naughty one named " maya" who plays naughty games like sliding down the bed; a game otherwise known as " slip and slide". In fact maya is apparently such a bad influence she made one of the new comers play slip and slide and the poor thing ended up with a broken leg in a wheelchair! Maya was told in no uncertain terms to " think about the consequences of your actions, you're grounded for two weeks!"

DD has the bitsy burpy baby alive, which she named Chloe. I do a little baby voice for Chloe so DD can interact with her. Until we're in public. In a shop queue DD was asking Chloe if she'd had a good day, it was busy so I wouldn't do the voice too embarrassed, DD carried on Chloe, Chloe Chloe... until an older man turned round to me and said "Chloe! She's talking to you!" To me....i was too embarrassed to say Chloe was actually the doll so I just went " oh, I didn't realise, yes DD, I've had a great day" Blush

I overheard DS (5) telling his beloved baby how cute and how beautiful he looked, with his new teeth 'just come through.'

I was then presented with this vision of loveliness!

I couldn't even laugh, as DS is a very proud, very protective 'father' and would have been wounded if I'd guffawed in it's filthy face.

(On closer inspection, Baby John's beautiful new teeth appear to be a chewed up grocery receipt Grin)

Oh no, punctuation AND photo fail Blush

Oh well, here is the face only a 'father' could love...

My DDs dollies must be the naughtiest dolls ever created. They are forever in time out! They do always say sorry so they must be well brought up when being pushed around in the shopping trolley Grin

Jeanetteleighton · 01/10/2017 01:13

I have 4 Children my eldest are 19 and 18 and youngest are 5 and 1 . It was my eldest son who is 18 was asked when he was about 7 or 8 what he wanted to be when he grew up, to which he replied a human 😂

Jeanetteleighton · 01/10/2017 01:19

My daughter Sheriah 5 has full blown conversations with her baby Annabel doll the other day she was commenting on the film I've just got her the secret Life of pets and exclaimed " omg look at her butt " 😂😂

bea179 · 01/10/2017 12:45

Whilst out, DSD 4 was pushing her dolls pram, when she out of no where she exclaimed "let's get this baby home! She's pooed her pants!!" Grin

MummyBtothree · 01/10/2017 14:51

"Sorry I pulled your head off and lost it" was about the funniest I've overheard in our house Grin

charlasf · 01/10/2017 15:06

My daughter has a strange thing where she smashes baby Annabelle's head into the doorframe. She's usually so lovely with her but for some reason that has always been something she's done!

Belmo · 01/10/2017 18:25

I remember dd aged 18 months turning to her doll and saying very solemnly "I love you baby. Goodbye" before flinging it quite violently down the stairs...

juliecorrigan · 01/10/2017 18:53

My daughter had two babies: plastic ones called Chipchops and Heart-kisses. She was tucking them I to their pram one day, saying g, "I'm afraid I won't be having g real babies, girls. I've seen it on the telly and it isn't really me anymore." with that she snapped up the hood of the oram and went looking for her bike.

juliecorrigan · 01/10/2017 18:58

Well that's a lot of mistakes, isn't it?

GoGoGazelle · 01/10/2017 20:36

DD named her doll 'Butterfly Heart Where Are You?'

mum25littleones · 01/10/2017 20:38

The other day however I was listening to the girls playing with Cry Baby and Evie told Amelia how she was born! I loved that she told her she grew in my tummy and was there because mummy and daddy loved each other so much.
She grew and grew.“Until mummy was so big……that she farted and shot you out so hard you hit the wall and bounced into her arms!”
WTF?!
That could explain why we had six children if it was that easy!

xJessHowlistonx · 01/10/2017 21:20

My little girl Evelyn adores her dolls but she can be a bossy little diva sometimes!

She was pushing one of her dolls (named Rosie apparently) around the living room a few weeks ago and her asked her what she was doing. She said she was getting to Rosie to sleep!

I'm in the kitchen and I hear her say "Oh Rosie will you just go to sleep, I don't want to hear your crying I've had a hard day at nursery and I need a nap" LOL!! I couldn't help but have a little giggle to myself.

I then go in to check on her and shes led on the sofa with rosie under her arm and she says "mum we need Milk and quick me and Rosie REALLY need to nap" lol!

Its so sweet to see her and her own little personality come alive! xx

hannahbjm · 02/10/2017 06:55

My daughter always is telling her dolls off! The last one being annabell you are so naughty, mummy said you are greedy and you have to go outside to live!

InvisibleKittenAttack · 02/10/2017 11:45

Remember hearing DD carefully explain that they couldn't come to pre-school with her, because "you are a bit too boring for pre-school".

Cintacmrs · 02/10/2017 20:28

Mummy Loves you but you are too smelly
Then dropped her in the toilet

Fizzyxo · 02/10/2017 21:12

Hahah. DS is cheeky as he tends to listen to me and DH arguing sometimes, so he'll act like the doll is his 'wife' and have a pretend conversation then quote me or DH word for word. It's hilarious!
