The team at Baby Alive® would love to hear all the funny things you have heard your child say to their doll - have they copied something you have said but at not quite the right moment, do they treat them like their own baby and love them gently, whispering lullabies or have they been very bossy and told them all off?

Please share your funny tales on this thread!

In case you don’t know about Baby Alive® - they say “Baby Alive® turns real mummy and daddy moments into a magical world of play. More than adorable dolls, they’re babies that talk, eat, drink, wet, and laugh — just like real babies! Kids become the grown-ups, experiencing first-hand what it’s like to be a parent who is excited, delighted, and surprised by all the many ways they can nurture and play. Using accessories based on each baby's theme, they can feed her an actual drink, change her nappy when she really wets, care for her when she is poorly and much more. Baby Alive encourages real moments of connection and discovery that bring alive the love inside of every child.”

Add your comment and you will be entered into a prize draw where one person will win a £300 Toys R Us voucher.

I mostly listen to my DD repeating whatever I have sad to her...I can be anything from "I love you" to an exasperated "could you please tidy that mess up" for some reason she always refers to one of her baby dolls as nasty babyShock

CopperPan · 21/09/2017 19:23

DD2 loves her dolls. Last week she was playing at eating her doll and telling it how yummy it tasted.

foxessocks · 21/09/2017 19:27

"Oh stop being such a pain in the bum. " possibly got that from me Blush

I came home from work to find the children had dug out baby dolls, renamed them all Gerald and were using their toy post office counter to post them all around the world. Their father was downstairs oblivious to this.

My daughter lost her favourite doll. She would look out the window at night and say "night night Baby" to her for ages after she went missing. Not funny really-it was heart breaking!

CheeseEMouse · 21/09/2017 20:52

Telling the dolly to "shush because I am concentrating!" Too many little sayings of mine are reflected in what she says!

Netty50 · 21/09/2017 21:10

Dad said "I'll be the proudest man one day when I give you away". My little daughter cried "but Daddy, I don't want you to give me away!"

mata777 · 21/09/2017 21:29

My daughter called one of her dolls Doctor Fifi. The doll actually wears a karate outfit but she thinks the white "coat" is a doctors coat. And name Fifi is from "Fifi and the flowertots.

DS tells his doll whilst pattering her back to burp like his baby sister and asks why doll isn't sick or poos like baby sister

Lisapaige24 · 21/09/2017 23:29

My DD says to her baby Annabelle if your not good am gonna send you to your room and take all your toys until you learn to be a good girl

Beeziekn33ze · 21/09/2017 23:35

DD: Had a doll that weed, which she'd longed for. Christmas morning doll was put out of her bedroom with a disgusted 'I don't want this wet dolly in my room!'
DS: On first meeting a Furby he threw it down saying 'Go on, then, say 'Ow, that hurt'!'

Lovedlost · 22/09/2017 00:07

I have 3 DDs.
When DD3 was a few weeks old, she was asleep and snuggled on my bed.
DD2 (then 4) brought in a dolly and insisted that DD3 needed it to sleep. It was quite a heavy doll, and she virtually plonked it on her little face.
As I went to intervene, DD1 (then 9), sternly said 'No DD2, that's mean. You need to stop mauling her!'
DD2 misheard the word 'mauling'.
She burst into tears, announcing 'I'm not smalling her DD1 because she's already as small as she is!'
Cue much hilarity, whilst trying to explain what 'mauling' means.
We regularly remind them of this story, 5 years on.

icclemunchy · 22/09/2017 00:37

DD2 mostly cuddles her doll pretends to nurse it and wears it Ina. Sling (I run a sling library and her marching around at sessions with baby on her back is beyond cute)

I did hear her tell it the other day to got to sleep or she would put her in the bin.

If she's being grumpy I often tell her to cheer up or I'll put her in the bin whilst tickling her Blush

farhanac · 22/09/2017 04:03

Marry me

Ivytheterrible · 22/09/2017 12:39

In an exasperated voice "Please go away and give me 5 minutes of peace and quiet."
😳

Maiyakat · 22/09/2017 14:47

On the way back from the toy shop, having chosen a doll as her potty training bribe reward, DD was telling her doll 'when we get home you do a poo in the potty - you get a sticker!'

Cineraria · 22/09/2017 15:44

We bought DS a doll so he could practise his big brothering skills in advance of his new sibling arriving.

DS had only about dozen words so far but has tried a few of them out, including naming him Doll-Doll, telling him sternly "Back" (put your toys/books/belongings back) and announcing delightedly that he is a "Ball!" before trying to bounce him on his head. I hope he's nicer to his real little brother!

He did offer Doll-Doll the spare boob when he was having a feed though and I also have a lovely photo of him having a bottle before bed on DH's lap with Doll-Doll on his own lap having a bottle.

hanliying · 22/09/2017 15:51

my daughter insisted to take her doll out to see the nursery everyday. "hurry up we'll be late for school..."

yasmin0147 · 22/09/2017 15:59

My girl has pretend tea parties with her dolls. She also blames them for nicking the biscuits

sweir1 · 22/09/2017 20:07

If you don't eat your dinner then you are not getting any pudding!

Jaderice21 · 22/09/2017 20:07

ok dont shoot me guys but im a naughty mummy my little girl had a muffin amd i ate it and told her it was her elsa doll so she put her doll to bed and told her off and told her she should not eat her muffin without asking it is very naughty and was her muffin was very hard not to laugh and im sorry to say im not even sorry was a nice muffin got away with that one as my daughter is only 3 her cross face is making me laugh [GRIN]

onemorecakeplease · 22/09/2017 21:43

Dd calls her doll 'darling' so it's "come on darling it's bedtime/time for tea/time to go for a walk"
It does make me smile she sounds like a proper little mum aged 5!
She is very gentle with her dolls, always wrapping them up in blankets or giving them baths but they've never ever got any clothes on and she's always saying they are cold!
Dress them then dd!

HalimaB · 22/09/2017 21:51

My daughter breastfeeds her doll "just like mummy" and will have harsh words with her doll and threaten her with the naughty step!!

annieno1 · 22/09/2017 22:42

My 3 year old has told baby alive that she has to move out if she keeps pooing her nappy 😂 also she blames it on baby alive for any farts she does 😂 😂

buckley1983 · 22/09/2017 22:52

My LO is an only child & I often hear him chattering away to his toys upstairs.. I do love to hang around outside his room & eavesdrop on his playing!
His narration is carried out through the medium of song - which is beautiful for the first half, however - he usually runs out of lyrics by the middle so the song descends into an argument about which character has pooed on another characters head.
Toilet humour for 4 year olds.. does it ever get old?!
