The team at Baby Alive® would love to hear all the funny things you have heard your child say to their doll - have they copied something you have said but at not quite the right moment, do they treat them like their own baby and love them gently, whispering lullabies or have they been very bossy and told them all off?

Please share your funny tales on this thread!

In case you don’t know about Baby Alive® - they say “Baby Alive® turns real mummy and daddy moments into a magical world of play. More than adorable dolls, they’re babies that talk, eat, drink, wet, and laugh — just like real babies! Kids become the grown-ups, experiencing first-hand what it’s like to be a parent who is excited, delighted, and surprised by all the many ways they can nurture and play. Using accessories based on each baby's theme, they can feed her an actual drink, change her nappy when she really wets, care for her when she is poorly and much more. Baby Alive encourages real moments of connection and discovery that bring alive the love inside of every child.”

Add your comment and you will be entered into a prize draw where one person will win a £300 Toys R Us voucher.

Thanks and good luck

My lo has talked to her doll about how she it is so unfair that I don't give her anything (because I wouldn't buy her a sweetie).

gamerwidow · 20/09/2017 21:23

I love how tenderly my DD looks after her doll. It makes me feel like I must have done something right after all!

RACHELSMITH45 · 20/09/2017 21:24

My daughter loves dolls and recently said oh sweetheart, we can't have you dressed like that, whatever would people think of me?! (little bro had dressed baby!)

lhlee62 · 20/09/2017 21:46

My daughter put her doll up her top and said she was going to poop it out of her bum! Confused

freefan · 20/09/2017 21:50

My oldest daughter had us in stitches with her doll when she was about 4 when she loudly said to her tiny tears in the shop that if she didn't stop crying she'd get put back where she came from.... luckily we knew she'd meant her older cousins toy box

My 3 year old likes to set up a school for her dolls as daddy is a teacher and she thinks she will be just like him one day. She explains something painstakingly to them, and follows up with "do you UNDERSTAND?" in the most patronising way. I hope she doesn't get that from me.

My daughter as telling her doll how to have a wee which I thought was funny and v cute at the same time!

Marg2k8 · 20/09/2017 22:34

Am I the only one whose children have not said anything hilarious or memorable to their dolls?

Cailin7 · 20/09/2017 23:09

DDs doll got sat on her brothers potty a lot and told to do a wee wee.

del2929 · 20/09/2017 23:53

my lo once told his doll he was turning her OFF because he didnt like her. lol

TellMeItsNotTrue · 21/09/2017 00:32

All of them were called baby, and when baby was mentioned you were supposed to know which one she meant. Any suggestions of names were met with a look that could silence any adult, it was basically "are you crazy??? She has a name, it's baby!"

Interestingly, all the soft toys had inventive names

pinkjjf27 · 21/09/2017 00:34

my little girl put a doll up her dress and said I have a baby in my tummy like you. oh how lovely i said, the looked at me for a long time and said "but you are not taking my head off to get it out". I was left wondering which Id prefer her version of child birth or mine.

claza93 · 21/09/2017 06:24

My daughter (for some reason) talks to her dolls in an American accent! It is hilarious. Although I quite often hear her using the phrases I regularly use! The doll gets quite a telling off at times........

We're big rugby fans in this house so not only have the Barbies and Annabelles ended up in a lop-sided scrum, they can also be found doing the haka!

rackhampearl · 21/09/2017 09:59

My DD (3) 'I'm going to have to switch you off now Baby, you're stressing me out' - to interactive crying Doll that she couldn't pacify. Grin

Marsis · 21/09/2017 11:25

Whenever my DD gets a new doll there is a huge greeting ceremony where all of her other dolls have to meet the new one. Tell them something about themselves and usually all of the outfits get swapped around.

Scoleah · 21/09/2017 11:29

I asked my DD (8) what she’d been upto after finding her Draculaura doll straddling my candlestick
“She’s a dancer, earning money for her Kids” Hmm

My 6 year old boy has a ratty looking comforter type thing that he's had since a baby, a bear's head on a piece of rectangular "fur" with 4 knotted "feet". The other day he was looking at him really closely and just said "Oh TedTed you look lovely". Couldn't be further from the truth but just a measure of how loved he is I guess ❤️

HuggleBear · 21/09/2017 12:54

DD (3) whilst settling her doll into it's cot-

'I will love you forever'.

ILikeThatSong123 · 21/09/2017 13:35

My dd frequently talked to her dolls and did the dolls reply as a voiceover herself. A typical conversation with the doll goes like this:
Dd to doll: I love you endless and INFINITY (mis-pronounced like that)
Doll to dd: I love you more mummy...
Dd to doll: No no darling, I love you more...
Doll to dd: No, I love you more!
Dd to doll: It's impossible! Mums always love their children more..
Doll to dd: How do you know mummy?
Dd to doll: Because your grandmother (which happens to be me by the way) said so...
Doll: Oh, okay..
Conversation is then followed by "tight" cuddles betwen the doll and dd.
It melted my heart when I heard for the first time and several times afterwards. It doesn't take place anymore, I think doll has learnt.

UpOnDown · 21/09/2017 14:28

They are all called 'baby', no actual name!

footdust · 21/09/2017 14:47

My daughter told her doll she has to at least try a mouthful of broccoli because it's the law.

MaroonPencil · 21/09/2017 16:21

He named it Chilli con Carne.

Penhacked · 21/09/2017 17:01

My nineteen month old is very attached to her dolly, and often puts her down, points and says 'wait!' in a slightly harassed voice. Can't imagine where she has heard that....

sm2012 · 21/09/2017 17:23

My daughter loves playing with her dolls. The funniest thing she's said is shouting "get down from there baby you'll hurt your big bottom" when she's been putting her baby up high somewhere!
