The team at Baby Alive® would love to hear all the funny things you have heard your child say to their doll - have they copied something you have said but at not quite the right moment, do they treat them like their own baby and love them gently, whispering lullabies or have they been very bossy and told them all off?

Please share your funny tales on this thread!

In case you don’t know about Baby Alive® - they say “Baby Alive® turns real mummy and daddy moments into a magical world of play. More than adorable dolls, they’re babies that talk, eat, drink, wet, and laugh — just like real babies! Kids become the grown-ups, experiencing first-hand what it’s like to be a parent who is excited, delighted, and surprised by all the many ways they can nurture and play. Using accessories based on each baby's theme, they can feed her an actual drink, change her nappy when she really wets, care for her when she is poorly and much more. Baby Alive encourages real moments of connection and discovery that bring alive the love inside of every child.”

Add your comment and you will be entered into a prize draw where one person will win a £300 Toys R Us voucher.

Thanks and good luck

DS used to lift his top up to "breastfeed" baby.

I love hearing school scenarios that DD age 5 reenacts with her dolls!

It's hilarious hearing her put on a stern teacher voice and one doll chide another 'we don't expect that sort of behaviour at school, Thomas. Are you going to make the right choice now?'

asuwere · 20/09/2017 16:11

Last week DS put his doll on the stairs and said "you're not my best friend any more!" and walked away. Not sure what dolly did but obviously it wasn't nice! Grin

My dd says "Sssssssssssss" to hers copying me (sshhh) but really rather than it being a settling calming shushing sound, it just sounds like she's hissing at her doll!

ButterflyOfFreedom · 20/09/2017 16:13

My DD (2) loves her 'babies' - she has about 20 of them!!
She obviously copies what we say to her and her dolls are often found on the naughty step and being asked to say sorry!
The other day I heard "goodness me Annabell, just do what you're told" !! Grin

Fairybella · 20/09/2017 16:21

My eldest had a beautiful doll who used to dress the same as her... she called her Kevin!

My youngest is 2 she regularly screeches "my baby, where's my baby? Someone has taken my baby".
She also tries to bundle the puppy into a buggy and calls him the baby.

badgermum · 20/09/2017 16:32

My DD decided she was going to run away so she packed up her doll and a packet of biscuits then went and sat at the bottom of the garden for a short while then decided to return home because apparently dolly had started to worry about sitting out in the darkness so it was all dollys fault that her plan to run away hadnt suceeded

If you hide your book under the bed, you can read after lights out & mommy doesn't know...

mooota1514 · 20/09/2017 17:50

my niece is constantly telling her baby doll to do her homework or she will be kept in school until she is old. i think she must have overheard me sayig that to my daughter!

sweetdiversion1 · 20/09/2017 18:01

Youngest has a doll she takes everywhere and that we have to make a plate of food for most dinner times. I heard her speaking to her doll a few weeks ago saying 'It's ok you don't have to eat the food. I'm not eating it either because nanny makes horrible food'. My mum was none too impressed.

My dd is doll CRAZY!!! She has over 20 dolls and they all have a full name, date of birth, favourite colour, food, their own extensive wardrobe etc etc

She insists on having real baby equipment as in nappies, dummy's, bottles etc and even make some strange potion that looks like really baby milk in the bottle (we have been stopped lots of times out as people think they are real babies)

I get woken up daily with her telling me that "Emma had a bad night and woke to be fed every hour" or "do you know where Liam's blue romper is has he is having his first photo shot today" Hmm I mean like I'm meant to know I can only just keep track of the children I gave birth to!

She was over the moon last week when she was given some premature baby dummy's and nappies whilst visiting her premature (28 weeks) baby brother in hospital for the first time

ErinSophia · 20/09/2017 19:04

My daughter told her doll to ask me for 2 Kinder Eggs so she could eat both of them and pretend the doll had ate one 😂.

Sid98 · 20/09/2017 19:08

My daughter told her doll off for not finishing her food

vickyors · 20/09/2017 19:18

My daughter loves her dolly, and calls her 'cubby'. Like a little lion cub... so she often says 'let's go on an adventure, Cubby..' or 'oh, cubby, don't drop your supper on the floor!'

Ikea1234 · 20/09/2017 19:20

I could hear my son and his friend (a girl) playing one day when I popped my head round the door and asked how it was going, as I could hear their game of families getting very "animated"....My son said "You are so lucky you live with just me and daddy! Girls are CRAZY! And this one (pointing at one particular doll) is nuts!!"

AlakazamAlakazoom · 20/09/2017 19:33

My DD has had a lot of hospital stays so Dolly has a lot of medical treatment - sometimes she just has an outpatient appointment, other times she announces with glee that Dolly is very poorly & will need to stay in hospital for ONE THOUSAND nights Grin

anotherdayanotherdinner · 20/09/2017 19:35

My dd was 3 when we had her little brother. She was very excited and copying a lot of what I did with her babies. My dm was with us, thankfully at home, and my dd took her doll, held it to her chest and shouted "eat my boobie". I swear that's not something I've ever said!!!

emmmaaa26 · 20/09/2017 19:48

"Don't talk to me like that or you'll sleep outside"

towser44 · 20/09/2017 19:53

Mine recently said to her doll, that if it came to the situation where the number of Christmas presents was limited, then her doll wouldn't be getting any!

LeeR1985 · 20/09/2017 20:36

My daughter has complained about food i've given her to her dolls, i've overheard her saying stuff like "I had sausage casserole for tea but I didn't really like it" but when I ask her if she enjoyed her tea she says yes!!

Signoritawhocansway · 20/09/2017 20:57

No so much 'saying', and not so much a doll, but my little boy (aged 4) breastfed his monkey the other day when I suggested it was hungry. Very cute. Disclaimer - I'm currently breastfeeding his little sister, so that's learned behaviour!

twinklenic · 20/09/2017 20:58

i remember when my eldest daughter was 4 she sat telling her doll about how baby jesus was born in Bethany hem ...her name was bethany , and i didnt have the heart to tell her it was actually bethlehem!!
My youngest isnt a fan of dolls but i often catch her trying to tell our dogs and her stuffed animals stories

Jade5093 · 20/09/2017 21:12

My daughter once tried breastfeeding her doll Grin
