Watching a film can be a great way to spend time together as a family over the Great British summer, and Sky Cinema would like to hear about the family films you’re looking forward to watching or would recommend.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “With Sky Cinema, it’s easy to find something to watch this summer. We’ve got the biggest family blockbusters from 2016 available on demand, from The Secret Life of Pets and Jungle Book to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them”.

Take a look at the Ten biggest blockbusters from 2016 and all of the family films available with Sky Cinema. Let us know about the ones you’ve watched as a family (and what you thought) and sharing those that you’re looking forward to watching with your children and why.

So, whether your family summer film watching is on rainy days or during a relaxing evening in, share your favourites and those you’re looking forward to below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

We absolutely loved Fantastic Beasts! Love anything magic related, where you can really escape.
Another favourite was The Jungle Book, my daughters 11 but she loved it as she did as a toddler

IonaAilidh11 · 05/08/2017 21:18

kids loved Moana, great family film, havent yet picked our next one

shellywkd · 05/08/2017 21:32

Fantastic Beasts was amazing we have watched it 3 times already. My daughter is Marvel mad so Civil War was a must but she was gutted as she is not old enough for Deadpool. It was awesome though as I watched it alone. All Disney were a must and we loved The Secret Life Of Pets. Batman vs Superman was good though a bit long.

We've got a teen and a 7 year old, so films need to work on a couple of levels for us! We all loved The Secret Life of Pets and The Lego Movie. Probably going for Fantastic Beast next.

pfcpompeysarah · 05/08/2017 21:41

My son has been looking forward to watching Pirates of the Caribbean and I kept putting it off until the summer holidays and now its not on at our local cinema, so it looks like we'll have to wait until it comes out on Sky. We also plan to go and see both Despicable Me 3 and Captain Underpants in the next few weeks at the local cinema, they both look funny and my son loves the whole cinema experience of popcorn and drinks.. me not so much, as I stare into my empty purse afterwards!!

We love a film on a rainy day or when we are feeling tired/below par. We are looking forward to the Jungle book and we loved Fantastic Beasts.

ProfAnnieT · 05/08/2017 21:48

Lego Movie and Lego Batman were winners here.

gaptoothuk · 05/08/2017 21:52

We absolutely love Lego Batman movie! The kids have seen it probably 4 times now!

emzlovesyou · 05/08/2017 22:17

We LOVE watching movies together in our house and always watch the new films out at the cinema!

My children have seen The jungle book, secret life of pets, and finding dory! They loved all of these films so much - Especially finding dory after we visited disney land!! The little Chihuahua in secret life of pets reminds us of our own Chihuahua timmy!

My husband and i have seen all of the films in the TOP 10 Blockbusters - Star wars, deadpol, captain america and Bat man are so up his alley! I laughed so much and LOVED bridget jones baby so much! I actually bought it!!! Fantastic beasts is so US and we love magic!

MrsDramaQueen · 05/08/2017 22:33

Were suckers for the Disney classics in our house. You can watch them again and again and not get bored although there is only so much of 'your welcome' you can take. Lol.

tia3456 · 05/08/2017 22:36

We as a family have enjoyed watching Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, we watched it twice as we all enjoyed it that much, we intend to all watch Moana together for a film night, so looking forward to that one

Ethan260908 · 05/08/2017 22:39

Lego Batman - just so funny for me and my son

LeeR1985 · 05/08/2017 22:57

I watch a film with my daughter every saturday evening. We've seen most of the family friendly blockbusters like finding dory, jungle book and secret life of pets. We do it every week with snacks and we both love it :)

farhanac · 05/08/2017 23:24

Moana a firm favourite

beckyinman · 05/08/2017 23:40

Moana - we are working through the Disney ones so probably finding Dory too

compy99 · 06/08/2017 00:21

maryandbuzz1 · 06/08/2017 03:24

We loved Bridget Jones's Baby. It is the type of film which appealed to all our family.
We are looking forward to seeing Rogue One ...Star WARS which we haven't seen yet. This again appeals to everyone in our family.

andbabymakesthree · 06/08/2017 06:19

Currently watching Zootropolis with a poorly girl. Rarely get chance to watch a film.

1moreRep · 06/08/2017 07:05

any Roald dahl movie - my dc would love, and anything like jumangi

Flanderspigeonmurderer · 06/08/2017 08:32

The secret life of pets and the Lego batman film are the two most recent favourites in our house.

vonniebab2 · 06/08/2017 08:34

We all loved Fantastic Beasts its a great film lots of fun and laughs and one that you can always watch again

lizd31 · 06/08/2017 08:42

I've seen all of the top 10 on Sky except The Secret Life of Pets which I have recorded & plan to watch over the weekend, really looking forward to it. I loved Bridget Jones's Baby, great to see a sequel as good as the first two films. My favourite of all the films on the list was Suicide Squad, great fun & action

WhosTakingDeHorseToFrance · 06/08/2017 08:56

We loved the Lego Batman film in this house and the opportunity to giggle through it again on a wet summers afternoon would be most welcome!

bloodypassword · 06/08/2017 09:03

We all absolutely loved Rogue One and Fantastic Beasts. I'm looking forward to watching Suicide squad and Bridget Jones. Perfect for an evening in, on the sofa with a bag of sweets.

SouthWestmom · 06/08/2017 09:07

We've seen 9/10 of the top ten - don't fancy Deadpool at all but the others were great for various of the dc and me.

Watched Bridget Jones Baby last night with my teen dd and was surprised she loved it. We both agreed Daniel was the most attractive and a sad loss 😁

It's so hard to get a film they all want to watch unless it's new out but things like Marvel usually work for the age range I have.

Love it when we do all find something and it's peaceful for a couple of hours
