Watching a film can be a great way to spend time together as a family over the Great British summer, and Sky Cinema would like to hear about the family films you’re looking forward to watching or would recommend.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “With Sky Cinema, it’s easy to find something to watch this summer. We’ve got the biggest family blockbusters from 2016 available on demand, from The Secret Life of Pets and Jungle Book to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them”.

Take a look at the Ten biggest blockbusters from 2016 and all of the family films available with Sky Cinema. Let us know about the ones you’ve watched as a family (and what you thought) and sharing those that you’re looking forward to watching with your children and why.

So, whether your family summer film watching is on rainy days or during a relaxing evening in, share your favourites and those you’re looking forward to below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

DD loves Minions. It's getting to the point where I could probably recite the entire film although it does give me an hours peace and quiet to tidy the house

changeMeName · 04/08/2017 08:26

We love to watch the studio Ghibli films and Disney classics. Also the older kids like to watch something a little 'scary' such as Jurassic Park or Godzilla.

My youngest loves the Trolls movie and Minions.

My favourite with my son Phoenix is Wreck it Ralph. Must have watched it at least 50 times and never gets old. I am waiting for him to get interested in Harry Potter so i can get all my books and dvds out ready!

A bit left-field but Bicentennial Man (with Robin Williams and Sam Neill) is a firm family favourite in this house. It even keeps hard-to-please teens enthralled. And it's one we've watched time and time again - the children get different things from it as they grow up!

Moana is a big hit since it came on Sky Cinema. My husband keeps singing 'you're welcome' whenever he does anything remotely helpful.

I'm not keen on the new Pete's Dragon and would like it replaces with the original please.

Please put the Toy Story movies back on too Grin

We are in rainy Scotland and I have 5DC, so Sky Cinema has been a godsend so far these school holidays. We enjoy the Pixar animated kids films and are also currently enjoying rewatching all the Harry Potter films. The DC love when they check out the new premiers and discover that a film they really want to see is available to watch.

We weren't that fussed with either The Secret Life of Pets or Finding Dory though we did get the DVDs because we will watch them again.

We love watching movies, both in the cinema and at home and have amassed quite the collection!

Our go to movies are the Cars and Planes collections.

Moana is definitely the big hit in our house at the moment.Even my one year old Son dances along to it.

vickyors · 04/08/2017 11:03

My kids love Moana and the new Beauty and the Beast.. and my daughter sings the Moana songs endlessly!!

Dangermouse80 · 04/08/2017 11:12

Lego batman and the secret life of pets are both firm favourites. Films are great for those rainy summer days.

sharond101 · 04/08/2017 11:33

We eagerly awaited the release of Cars3 and my kids are Paw Patrol fanatics.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 04/08/2017 11:40

My DC love anything Disney so The Lion King and Ratatouille would be definite favourites!

Cambam2010 · 04/08/2017 12:14

As a family (my 6 yo DS, my DP & his 2 teenage DS) we like to watch all the Pirates of the Caribbean series - we find that there is something for us all in these films.

hayz1912 · 04/08/2017 12:29

My son was ecstatic when he saw Moana on sky, he's wanted to watch it since he saw the trailer in the cinema. We had a movie night on Saturday, popcorn, blankets, pizza, perfect film, he loved it so much he's since watched it 4 times! The grinch and home alone are firm favourites too, there's nothing like coming in from the cold, snuggling under a blanket together with a hot chocolate and watching those films to put you in the Christmas spirit.

My three children are OBSESSED with moana. My 3yo can recite every single word and does all the actions (it doesn't get annoying, I swear!) so we plan on (they plan on) watching it every day at least twice!

HattietheManatee · 04/08/2017 13:34

My son has seen Moana and says its his favourite film EVER! I clearly need to watch it. He also loves Lilo and Stitch, which is funny as it was my teenagers favourite film when she was his age too! (5) And he didn't even find out about it through us!

From the 2016 film list I'd love to snuggle up with the kids and watch the Secret Life of Pets.

We are just getting into a film on a Sunday afternoon, usually after a walk outside together. It's a really nice wind down to the week.

Theimpossiblegirl · 04/08/2017 13:40

We loved Beauty and the Beast, it really exceeded our expectations. Moana is also popular with my girls.

BeeMyBaby · 04/08/2017 13:43

We are desperate to watch fantastic beasts, the DDs were a bit young for it when it came out in the cinema but they are really into live action stuff so hoping to see that very soon on our tv!

BellaVida · 04/08/2017 13:54

My 4 DC love Disney's Teen Beach Movie. It's a real summer feel good film in a musical style that all ages can watch. Set in the 1960's, the catchy songs are great to sing slim to.

I will see if I can get my hands on the sequel!

JemIsMyNameNooneElseIsTheSame · 04/08/2017 14:09

We saw Finding Dory and Secret Life of Pets at the cinema. I'm more of a fan on Moana than DS. Looking forward to introducing him to Star Wars and Harry Potter soon.

HHP1 · 04/08/2017 14:26

Friday night is always family film night in our house. We have pizza and popcorn and alternate between old favourites and new (to the children) ones. Recently, we've enjoyed Sing, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, BFG and Jungle Book. My older son enjoyed Star Wars and we watched Jaws together recently - forgot how scary it is!!!

Falconhoof1 · 04/08/2017 15:00

Our favourite family movies are oldies like Labyrinth. But we also like to settle down to a new one too. We love a good Disney movie of any era.

autumncolour · 04/08/2017 16:17

Hidden Figures is absolutely brilliant. Can't recommend it highly enough - and DS loved it too!
