Watching a film can be a great way to spend time together as a family over the Great British summer, and Sky Cinema would like to hear about the family films you’re looking forward to watching or would recommend.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “With Sky Cinema, it’s easy to find something to watch this summer. We’ve got the biggest family blockbusters from 2016 available on demand, from The Secret Life of Pets and Jungle Book to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them”.

Take a look at the Ten biggest blockbusters from 2016 and all of the family films available with Sky Cinema. Let us know about the ones you’ve watched as a family (and what you thought) and sharing those that you’re looking forward to watching with your children and why.

So, whether your family summer film watching is on rainy days or during a relaxing evening in, share your favourites and those you’re looking forward to below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

For me it's got to be the new beauty and the beast . But then I love all the Disney films

UpOnDown · 04/08/2017 18:06

Definitely the new my little pony film.

OhSoTotallyLost · 04/08/2017 19:13

My son loves finding dory and minions. I keep trying to get him to watch mona as I really want to see it but no luck so far!

compstruck · 04/08/2017 21:44

my son used to watch a video I bought him for years. one day I cleared it out and recycled it. He found out and I had to buy him the CD version all these years later. It was Bedknobs and Broomsticks!!!

Pipstarz41 · 04/08/2017 22:03

We watch Frozen A LOT. DD is getting Moana on DVD for her third birthday - looking forward to a change!

KarenCBC · 04/08/2017 23:49

My two are still a little too small for full length films but I've always said that I think School of Rock is the perfect family film. Its just as good for adults as it is for kids, properly funny! Can't wait til my children are old enough for me to watch it with them

MakeTeaNotWar · 05/08/2017 03:20

We loved Moana at the cinema so the kids have been thrilled to see it is now available on Sky Movies. We've also been enjoying Rock Dog and Secret Life of Pets. I indulged in Bridget Jones Baby and am hopeful Trainspotting 2 will be available soon.

kateandme · 05/08/2017 06:19

shrek.toy story.moana.always winners.
we could watch the star wars one over and over too.
also over the next few years I hear there will be some exciting Disney remakes so cant wait for them.
I love finding ones we watch as kids and having us all enjoy them again together.

Hayleypayton19 · 05/08/2017 10:46

loved boss baby made us all as a family sit down and spend some quality time together

pinkunicornsarefluffy · 05/08/2017 11:40

9yo DD has watched Moana around 6 times since its release on Premiere a week ago Grin. We also liked watching The Secret Life of Pets. Storks is released today, so going to watch that tonight.

We are both really looking forward to Fantastic Beasts coming onto Premiere as that is another one that we missed at the cinema.

Top Ten - I bought Bridget Jones Baby and Finding Dory, so now have the DVD and a copy on the Sky+ box.

We've actually become converts to the 'staying in cinema experience' since actual cinema prices have become extortionate and the price of snacks whilst there are just way beyond our budget which just makes it feel like a miserable trip. Plus the speed with which new releases end up on SKY is pretty impressive, so dont have to wait long, especially with Buy and Keep.

As a family we've enjoyed Lego Batman and being able to sing a long and dance with Moana and Trolls, microwaving popcorn and having a carpet picnic - not as restrictive as a cinema, so much cheaper and we can wear pjs Wink plus its less stress and worry with Ds' allergies and he feels more catered for/included.

Can't wait until Ds is older so I can introduce him to the films that I grew up to like Goonies and Home Alone etc

TellMeItsNotTrue · 05/08/2017 13:52

Secret life of pets and minions are the current favourites, it's good that they have jokes on different levels so the whole family can enjoy them

snapple21 · 05/08/2017 14:01

We love moana, monsters v aliens, secret life of pets

honeyandginger48 · 05/08/2017 14:11

We love having a movie afternoon. Any of the Harry Potter films, or x-men films go down well in our house.

allotmentgirl82 · 05/08/2017 14:59

We love Fantastic Beasts and where to find them. Our sons could not wait for it to come onto Sky cinema, counting down the days. We've watched it as a family about 4 times, and my sons have watched it many times more.

marymanc · 05/08/2017 16:19

I will be going to the cinema with my 8 years old son this Summer. He asked to see Despicable Me 3, The emoji movie and Captain Underpants.

georgedawes · 05/08/2017 18:05

We loved Secret Life of Pets and Moana! Have to say we thought Fantastic Beasts was a bit old for DD (7) - she struggled to follow the storyline (so did I!)

I think watching a film is a great pastime to unwind, and has also bizarrely made such a difference to DD getting travel sick. She now watches a DVD on long journeys and it completely takes her mind of it, whereas in the past she was pale and complaining straight away.

ph936 · 05/08/2017 18:26

We all watched Fantastic Beasts together as a family, a rarity in our house ! I must admit to being slightly worried about scary bits for my eight and six year old girls. They weren't concerned though and watched eagerly from start to finish. Thank you Sky for helping entertain us, memories created for the family !

prwilson · 05/08/2017 18:33

Rogue One and Fantastic Beasts - both excellent films, great escapism.

janeycat · 05/08/2017 18:33

Aside from the new Star Wars films the new films this year have been pretty boring and just rehashes of old storylines. Batman Lego Movie was fab though and everyone enjoyed

melski1989 · 05/08/2017 18:35

Like most families we're looking forward to watching Moana!

gd2011 · 05/08/2017 18:53

Just "The Jungle Book".

Jade5093 · 05/08/2017 19:08

Can't beat moana brilliant family film brilliant soundtrack too

lynsmagoo · 05/08/2017 19:09

I can't wait to watch beauty and the beast. I never got to see it at the cinema so im looking forward to renting it out and having a chilled out night with the family

giddyypixie · 05/08/2017 19:23

We really enjoyed Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them! Kind of like Harry Potter but not - very enchanting and we all really loved it! Came out of the cinema wanting to watch more!
