Watching a film can be a great way to spend time together as a family over the Great British summer, and Sky Cinema would like to hear about the family films you’re looking forward to watching or would recommend.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “With Sky Cinema, it’s easy to find something to watch this summer. We’ve got the biggest family blockbusters from 2016 available on demand, from The Secret Life of Pets and Jungle Book to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them”.

Take a look at the Ten biggest blockbusters from 2016 and all of the family films available with Sky Cinema. Let us know about the ones you’ve watched as a family (and what you thought) and sharing those that you’re looking forward to watching with your children and why.

So, whether your family summer film watching is on rainy days or during a relaxing evening in, share your favourites and those you’re looking forward to below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

We watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Finding Dory & The Secret Life of Pets Fun to watch and enjoyed.

Amz9 · 06/08/2017 09:15

We have loved watching Moana, Secret Life of Pets (hilarious) and Storks. The children are really looking forward to Trolls coming on Sky Cinema (in all honesty, I'm really excited as well) and my eldest who is 8 and me are super excited about Rogue One xx

Yaracuy · 06/08/2017 09:45

Resume:
Moana, 8 times
Secret life of Pets, 3 and a half times (boredom came visiting)
Monsters, 7 times and three quarters (sleeping time)
Paddington in close competition with Monsters (sleeping time again)
Hope it helps...

Ahhhh Jungle Book! So many happy times snuggling and watching Jungle Book and then the songs stick in your head and you find yourself dancing around the house singing Bare Necessities and feeling happy!

We all watched Finding Dory and enjoyed it much more than we thought we would - we actually preferred it to Finding Nemo. Moana was visually beautiful with some wonderfully catchy songs.

Really looking forward to watching Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them when it becomes available. We are all big Harry Potter fans and are keen to see how good it is!

For us it is Finding Dory, we love the characters, and the colours in the movie are amazing its is a sensory sensation watching anything by Pixar. I love that the story is about friendship, and fun, and being brave. We have watched Finding Nemo so many times I virtually know the script word for word, so to have Finding Dory in our living room would be a wonderful family experience.

We all loved the secret Life of Pets.

This was the first whole movie my little girl has watched as previously her concentration had waned. She really loved it and watched it again a few days later.

I think we will be watching more movies together in the future.

hibbertheather · 06/08/2017 11:22

Fantastic beasts! Went to the cinema twice to see it and then at home with partner and eldest one, we love it

Lisapaige24 · 06/08/2017 12:16

All 7 of us (OH +5 kids + me) watched Fantastic beasts and where to find them last week (Rainy Days) and moana we loved both movies and it was actually the first time we all sat down and watched the films all the way to the end that how much we enjoyed them.

iut044 · 06/08/2017 12:17

We loved watching Rogue One as a family together .

JasmineGreen · 06/08/2017 12:26

Civil War.

We actually are a house divided over Iron Man and Captain America.

candlefloozy · 06/08/2017 12:31

Having a three year old, I think moana has been our favourite. We've just signed up for sky cinema and we've already watched it a million times!!

mynellie · 06/08/2017 14:15

We loved the secret life of pets and when there are no children around we love a good horror film to scare ourselves

daydreambeliever21 · 06/08/2017 15:43

We love Star Wars rogue one, Captain America and Fantastic Beasts. My older ones (age 16 and 15) have also enjoyed Suicide Squad and Deadpool.
We've watched most of them already on Sky but like to rewatch them especially on rainy days or colder evenings.
Looking forward to the next XMen instalments too.

wannabestressfree · 06/08/2017 16:19

Two of my sons have aspergers and find the sensory issues with the cinema too much. That's why I like sky and the ability to 'rent'. You can get a drink, pop to the loo, have five minutes then start again..... last night was boss baby. I have to say I really enjoyed it and we may try storks later..... we love the generic 'it all comes good in the end' Disney films :)
And as the weather has been shocking it's got us through!

Emmap12 · 06/08/2017 17:05

In this family we love the Dispicable Me films...our boys belly laugh at the funny parts and we never get tired of seeing them over and over again. We are looking forward to seeing Dispicable Me 3 next week 😀

ProphetOfDoom · 06/08/2017 17:36

Because there's a big age gap between my dcs and because my youngest finds sitting in the dark in a cinema a bit scary/he's a right jiggle-bottom Hmm it's much more pleasant to cosy down at home. Just D/L Big Hero 6 from Sky based on the recommendations here for a coming sleepover - thanks MNers!

As a family the classics like labarynth, flight of the navigator, short circuit always go down a treat. Me and dd have started to get into ghibli films. She lives Arietty and totoro. I love them as they are nice and calm compared to manic Disney films and they have strong female leads too

alison991 · 06/08/2017 18:36

We loved the secret life of pets and it is now a family favouirte. Not seen any of the others but want to watch a couple

laurac1987 · 06/08/2017 19:21

We watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed it! I didn't think a fantasy/mystical based film would be for me, but my family and I really enjoyed it and have since watched it for the second time.

emilybc · 06/08/2017 20:16

We watched Finding Dory. We all loved it, enjoyed the nostalgia and another instalment of the Finding Nemo saga!

Minnibix · 06/08/2017 20:24

We watched Kong Skull Island as a family and did the full Friday night in film night works, with pizza, fries and ice cream for desert, was a great night

HELENSCRESCENT · 06/08/2017 20:43

We've been embracing all things Disney and watching some of the classics such as bambi and sleeping beauty. Pinocchio and dumbo next on the list.

carolacr · 06/08/2017 20:55

I watched " The Secret Life Of Pets" with my 5 year old granddaughter, lovely film.

sarah861421 · 06/08/2017 20:59

Any if the marvel films would be good for family viewing. Bit different now as my children are at Uni, but we try to have a family film night at least once a week when they are home
