Watching a film can be a great way to spend time together as a family over the Great British summer, and Sky Cinema would like to hear about the family films you’re looking forward to watching or would recommend.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “With Sky Cinema, it’s easy to find something to watch this summer. We’ve got the biggest family blockbusters from 2016 available on demand, from The Secret Life of Pets and Jungle Book to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them”.

Take a look at the Ten biggest blockbusters from 2016 and all of the family films available with Sky Cinema. Let us know about the ones you’ve watched as a family (and what you thought) and sharing those that you’re looking forward to watching with your children and why.

So, whether your family summer film watching is on rainy days or during a relaxing evening in, share your favourites and those you’re looking forward to below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

We love to watch The Lion King

allibaby · 12/08/2017 06:10

Finding Dory was an absolute favourite in our house.
The wonderful colours of the film made it easy for the little ones to watch and we found it so funny too.
Today we are looking forward to watching The Jungle Book. None of us has seen the new version yet but as we all love the original we can't wait to see Mowgli and friends brought to life.

Smurfs and flushed away for us

Pimmpom · 12/08/2017 07:53

Fantastic Beasts - so good to watch something that the whole family can appreciate!

piggypoo · 12/08/2017 07:56

Lego Batman, DH laughs about the fact the characters are Lego, and insists on doing funny voices throughout the film, much to the amusement of DD, 5, Rogue One, was talked about all the way through by DD, 5, whilst DH scowled and protested he couldn't concentrate, serves him right for laughing at Lego Batman! :)

We all loved the Jungle Book. In fact you can't beat a Disney production, especially the older ones. Another favourite is the Ice Age series, plenty to like for both adults and children.

Enjoyed Rogue One especially the ending where... :D I'm not that cruel.

tubbyj · 12/08/2017 09:05

Star wars rogue one, was quite good and a introduction to my son a new installment in something that I remeber well

jrobbs · 12/08/2017 09:58

Me and my little peeps hold Finding Dory as our absolute favourite from 2016. Although The Jungle Book came a very close second. What can I say, we love films featuring squeaky voiced animals !

clareycat · 12/08/2017 12:43

My 3 year old DD loves Finding Dory, especially naughty Hank the Octopus, she squeals with delight whenever she spots him.

Deeceeha · 12/08/2017 13:06

We watched Moana and enjoyed it (though I fell asleep near the end), and Ice Age (fell asleep during that one too).
I'm spotting a pattern here, must try to get to bed earlier x

I cannot afford to rent dvd's or attend the cinema so have not watched any of them. If I win I will rectify that, go to the cinema and rent out and/or purchase as many dvd's as I can.

shelley3281 · 12/08/2017 17:32

myself and my family (my 14 year old daughter ) absolutely love the trilogies and Epic films like The Hunger Gmaes and more recently The Hobbit films... we both love watching fantasty/action films and would happily spend many an hour watching these films and films i would definitely recommend :)

purplevamp · 12/08/2017 18:02

We're huge Star Wars fans in our house, so we watch them! Anything Disney is watched too.

ha2el · 12/08/2017 18:34

The Secret Life of Pets. Judging from the trailers, both the children and adults are going to find this funny!

clopper · 12/08/2017 19:32

We all loved Hunt for the wilderpeople, which is both funny and moving.

ElizaW922 · 12/08/2017 21:03

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - I love watching magical and fantastical stories to inspire the imaginations of my children. Childhood should be magical!
