Watching a film can be a great way to spend time together as a family over the Great British summer, and Sky Cinema would like to hear about the family films you’re looking forward to watching or would recommend.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “With Sky Cinema, it’s easy to find something to watch this summer. We’ve got the biggest family blockbusters from 2016 available on demand, from The Secret Life of Pets and Jungle Book to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them”.

Take a look at the Ten biggest blockbusters from 2016 and all of the family films available with Sky Cinema. Let us know about the ones you’ve watched as a family (and what you thought) and sharing those that you’re looking forward to watching with your children and why.

So, whether your family summer film watching is on rainy days or during a relaxing evening in, share your favourites and those you’re looking forward to below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Not much of an attention span for films in our house, so things like Jungle Book (the old animated version), Lion King, Alice in Wonderland and Aristocats go down well because there's so much going on in them.

I'd love to be able to sit through a whole film instead of having to put on various episodes of Thomas and Fireman Sam every 10 minutes Smile.

DD and I have loved watching Miss Peregrines home for Peculiar children together. She tends to choose to watch films on sky+ rather than TV programmes, she has recently watched Moana, Storks and Trolls and is waiting for Fantastic Beasts.

Boss Baby got DC3 through a cricket match at Lord's this holiday, but DC1 loved The Great Wall and DC2 Captain Underpants.

I really wish all three would watch the same films, it would make my life easier.

When Life of Pets turned up on Sky Cinema a couple of weeks ago my little boy went bananas. He now knows the movie word perfectly and we have all had to dance to EVERY song!!! He was not happy about watching Moana (it's 'for girls' apparently) . . . but ten minutes in he was glued until the end! The Jungle Book Movie is STILL his number one movie though, which is impressive considering his number one movie used to change on a daily basis!!!

defineme · 11/08/2017 19:25

Zootropolisis is our current favourite 😊

Emmamaryd · 11/08/2017 19:42

We saw fantastic Beasts. It wS great and entertained all age groups. My friend says the secret life of pets is good so that is next on our list to watch.

grannybiker · 11/08/2017 19:59

The secret Life of Pets makes them both howl with laughter while Jungle Book is great for a singalong

Sleepysausage · 11/08/2017 20:05

I'm looking forward forward to introducing dd to her first Disney film this summer, Moana

ChasedByBees · 11/08/2017 20:06

It's great you have the Pixar shorts - my DC love these and they're generally pretty safe to watch. A lot of films have too much jeopardy- even the U rated. I have left many a cinema early. Confused

lcorrall88 · 11/08/2017 20:20

My two girls love watching Tinker Bell and the secret of the wings. They keep standing back to back and saying because they are sisters they'll glow if they are near each other. It's very cute.
We also love Big Hero 6...the girls and my husband was glued to watching that!

maria08k · 11/08/2017 20:38

We watched Finding Dory and have since bought it on dvd and watched it a few more times. We loved it - talk about all the feels!!! We felt every emotion watching this movie. It was incredibly funny though and i love the little adult jokes in it too!!!

Mumslet · 11/08/2017 20:46

The biggest hit in our house was Jungle Book - no surprise as we loved the original, but didn't know if the new version could equal it.

annmariec · 11/08/2017 21:00

We loved life of pets , we enjoyed it that much when my mother in law came to stay we watched it again, rouge one was also a big hit

ukbliss2012 · 11/08/2017 21:20

We loved the Jungle Book, thought it was better than the original.
Bridget Jones' Baby was hilarious and again, better than the previous ones.
Was a little disappointed by Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them.

cathyov · 11/08/2017 21:45

We enjoy so many films and a great diversity but our all time favourite and one we watch again and again is The Lion King - a film the whole family enjoy always.
Regards to this years top ten we were a bit disappointed with Fantastic Beasts and where to find them, but the older girls (me included) loved Bridget Jones's Baby and the boys liked Batman v Superman of course!

Annimousey · 11/08/2017 21:46

We've seen Rogue One and The Secret Life of Pets as a family from the list. My husband and I have seen the others, but our kiddies are only 4 and 2 so some of them aren't suitable. :)

My 4 year old loves the Lego Batman Movie!

Sneezeandooops · 11/08/2017 22:52

My kids 6,4 and 1 (who doesn't get much choice being 1) love the older films like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The King and I. Anything to act and sing along with.

Sneezeandooops · 11/08/2017 22:54

The new Jungle Book is on my favourites list

BellaWella86 · 11/08/2017 22:54

We've seen Finding Dory and I went to see Bridget Jones Baby with a friend in the cinema. Both very entertaining!

My daughter really wants to see The Secret Life of Pets. She loves the characters, although hasn't actually seen the film so that is definitely one to view over the holidays!

Hannah4588 · 11/08/2017 23:00

Lego batman has been a fab here especially with my 3yo who walks around saying 'let's get groovin' non stop.

My 6yo has really enjoyed beauty and the beast.

pinkspideruk · 11/08/2017 23:09

Moana & Fantastic Beasts are firm family faves (we went to see the emoji movie at the cinema - was hugely disappointing!)

baconbap · 11/08/2017 23:11

Really enjoyed the secret life of pets. Looking forward to seeing Piper

littledumplings · 11/08/2017 23:12

Oooh we haven't seen any of the 2016 blockbusters yet as we've recently moved house and only just returned to Sky in time for Game of Thrones! We are looking forward to watching the blockbusters and Finding Dory as we love Finding Nemo. I also have a soft spot for all the My Girl films

VickyRsuperstar · 11/08/2017 23:20

We saw Batman v Superman in 3D at the cinema and we loved it. I can't wait for the follow up.
Hubby saw Deadpool with my older teen and advised me not to see it as he found it too crude.
Captain America and Suicide Squad were hits with my older teens.
One that they hadn't listed that we all enjoyed was Alice Through the Looking Glass. It wasn't quite as good at Alice in Wonderland, but we really enjoyed it anyway! There are loads of films we missed but would love to watch together as a family.

diddiebiddie · 12/08/2017 00:47

We love some of the older films like Jungle Book and Mary Poppins, we know all the words to the songs and have a really good sing along.
