Watching a film can be a great way to spend time together as a family over the Great British summer, and Sky Cinema would like to hear about the family films you’re looking forward to watching or would recommend.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “With Sky Cinema, it’s easy to find something to watch this summer. We’ve got the biggest family blockbusters from 2016 available on demand, from The Secret Life of Pets and Jungle Book to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them”.

Take a look at the Ten biggest blockbusters from 2016 and all of the family films available with Sky Cinema. Let us know about the ones you’ve watched as a family (and what you thought) and sharing those that you’re looking forward to watching with your children and why.

So, whether your family summer film watching is on rainy days or during a relaxing evening in, share your favourites and those you’re looking forward to below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

My girls, like me, love anything Disney! That always goes down a treat.

keshimonster · 10/08/2017 20:53

We watched Rogue One, Finding Dory, The Jungle Book and The Secret Life of Pets...thoroughly enjoyed all of them!!

Looking forward to seeing Alice Through The Looking Glass!

Starlight85 · 10/08/2017 21:06

We loved watching Jungle Book and are looking forward to watching Storks now it is available on Sky Smile

CMOTDibbler · 10/08/2017 21:37

We loved Fantastic Beasts and the Secret life of Pets

greensmith68 · 10/08/2017 21:59

the secret life of pets had us all in stiches

sharmanda · 10/08/2017 22:00

My children have enjoyed watching the secret life of pets, trolls, and more recently boss baby. Funnily enough yesterday we had a DVD as it was so cold and wet, we ended up watching boss baby twice ( we only downloaded it Saturday as our free reward for signing up for the sky app)., and then watched trolls.
We have not watched moana yet but have heard mixed reviews from friends who have children.
I would like to watch finding dory as we took the children to the cinema for the first time to watch it but they were very overwhelmed by the experience we left not long after it started.

We love watching The Lego Movie. It's a great family film and it never gets boring!

Leanfun · 10/08/2017 22:52

Lego Batman was our family favourite. I watched the latest Bridgit Jones film with a friend which we both enjoyed.

We all went to the cinema together to see Rogue One. The kids liked it more than the adults (we'd seen the same story line before). DH took DS to see Deadpool. We only tend to watch things together at the cinema, at home different tastes mean you never get all 4 of us in front of the TV at the same time.

we love shrek to watch as a family :)

claza93 · 11/08/2017 08:37

We love to snuggle up and watch the Star Wars films back to back! Plenty of snacks required x

vicks276 · 11/08/2017 10:10

We loved The Secret Life Of Pets, Moana and The Lego Movie. Me and OH thought Deadpool was brilliant along with Suicide Squad!

As a family we are looking forward to Disney's Coco later this year, and Star Wars The Last Jedi

Snapespeare · 11/08/2017 11:38

I took autistic 18 year old to see fantastic beasts - and separately took 21 year old daughter. That universe is very much part of their childhood and i can foresee taking them to potterverse spin offs with their own chiuldren.

NerrSnerr · 11/08/2017 11:47

Has to be My Girl for me, even though it breaks me every time I watch it.

koalab · 11/08/2017 11:47

Batman Lego, secret life of pets and sing have been hits with us. Looking forward to watching jungle book, moans and fantastic beasts.

Aworldofmyown · 11/08/2017 12:58

My youngest son adores Moana and Secret Life of Pets, his big sister loves to watch those too.

We hired Kong Island and watched that one evening with our oldest son - something for everyone!!

sarahw2 · 11/08/2017 13:04

My boys LOVED Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (as did we), really great film, and very very funny!

We haven't watched Moana yet, and I've heard really good things, so looking forward to sitting down together to watch it.

helcrai · 11/08/2017 13:12

We all loved to watch The Secret Life of Pets- we recently got a cat and the character Chloe captures the cat's "couldn't care less" attitude perfectly. Great for adults and kids alike. DD1 is world's biggest Harry Potter fan so Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is next on our list to watch as a family (I'm secretly a big fan too!). With the "summer" so far we have had plenty of afternoons stuck inside so far and Sky Cinema has been a lifesaver.

tisha934 · 11/08/2017 13:25

our family favourit movie The Secret Life of Pets and we love to see this one ...again and again because is very funny .

Andiecat13 · 11/08/2017 13:33

Considering we have been hit by chickenpox there will be a few lol! Frozen, Moana, The Jungle Book, Totoro & Fantasia are some of our favourites. We make our own popcorn and cuddle up on the sofa. Love it - though could do without the calamine lotion reapplication intermissions 😉

Elizasmum02 · 11/08/2017 14:06

y daughter lovd Star Wars: Rogue One we cant wait to see it again!

mazgoli · 11/08/2017 14:14

I'm not a fan of Disney animated films, so we watch Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, Pollyanna etc. Most recently I introduced my Grandchildren to Bedknobs and Broomsticks - very nostalgic for their parents too. Just thought of another great one, the musical version of Oliver Twist (Oliver!).

Rainbowsaretoo · 11/08/2017 14:19

Rogue One is proving very popular along with old favourites like Mary Poppins too

vedden1978 · 11/08/2017 14:35

We all watched Storks this week. Hi initially put it on for my 2 and 6 year old boys whilst I was cooking dinner but me and my 38 year old partner literally became glued to it with me running in and out of kitchen trying not to miss anything and he was muttering whilst 2 year old started commenting rather loudly on parts of film. Great for all the family. Funny and definitely some humour in there that parents will definitely relate to.

bextow · 11/08/2017 14:37

Fantastic Beasts is truly magical and a firm family favourite now!
