With Easter fast approaching, Cadbury would like to hear about your family’s Easter traditions. Is there a tradition from your childhood that you’re passing on to the next generation? Or have you used your imagination to think up something that’s completely your own? Do you have a traditional family Easter lunch planned, or will you be spending the day working your way through your new chocolate egg stash? Is there a location you always like to visit over the long weekend? Perhaps your Easter Bunny devises egg hunts that could outfox even the wiliest of hunters?

Easter is not a big event for us - one of us is usually at work. However, we do organise an egg hunt with cryptic clues that the kids love deciphering!

We always do an egg hunt inside and out even though my eldest is now 17, you are never too old for an egg hunt imho! In the past we have invited neighbours kids too. It has always been great fun and created lots of happy memories

Family get togethers are important to us too, bbq if the weather is good, but roast if bad! Either way its a win. Oh, we dont do lamb though, we are not really into carving up iconic easter baby animals at the table (unless they are made of chocolate obvs )

An egg hunt and a big dinner. Not particularly religious but will relish any opportunity for family times and chocolate!

We always have a family Easter egg hunt with our whole extended family, and an Easter bonnet competition. There are about 40 of us in total (5 generations- my Grandad is a Great Great Grandad now!) It gets very competitive but we have the loveliest time. I am so lucky to be part of a big, loud, happy family. Most of my favourite childhood memories are from Easter celebrations with the family.

TBH, we really don't do easter. Ds will get an egg from us, but thats about it, and he doesn't get anything from anyone else

On good Friday, dh will be taking ds to a gaming exhibition (ds massively excited), and I'll be going to the local lidos opening day - very seasonal!

It's the egg hunt here too. We've always done clues but this is the third Easter since we started home educating and now the clues are related to things they've been learning about, in maths, history, language etc

DD finally twigged about the Easter bunny this year (still clinging onto Santa!) but DS still believes. She was sad when she realised but then I explained that it means she gets to help devise the clues for DS!

Dd is 2 and is obsessed with eggs - regular eggs, surprise eggs, chocolate eggs, toy eggs, you name it. So ever since the Easter stuff hit the stores we struggle to get past it without tears. She just wants to open them all!

I'd like to do an egg hunt but she's a little young I think. So this year I'm going to do a massive surprise egg. It's a huge egg with tons of coloured eggs inside and I'm filling each one with either a small toy, a treat (eg a few buttons, a few chocolate micro eggs, or a jelly bunny) or just something interesting to look at. I can't wait to watch her open them all! It will be an endless stream of 'woooow!'.

We go to one of the organised egg hunts at one of our nearby National Trust sites, and have made that our family tradition for a few years now. Also there are always too many chocolate eggs to eat so we take some to the local food bank after the bank holiday weekend. Roast dinner tops it off, though it doesn't have to be on the Sunday!

We don't make a huge thing of easter really, but do do an egg hunt on easter morning to find their egg! Used to be pictures but as DS1 is getting better at reading, I'm going to do some slightly cryptic clues this year

We go on the walk of witness on good friday, then an egg hunt at our church on the Saturday, usual Sunday roast, nothing fancy on Sunday. I don't buy any eggs (apart from reduced ones after easter which I use for baking!) :)

We have a big family lunch with parents, siblings, in-laws, in-laws' in-laws etc. A few eggs, but to b honest they aren't a big part of the day.

Egg hunt at home for ds every year and then a big family get together with another egg hunt for the kids, weather permitting, outside.

When my children were little we would do lots of easter crafts over the weekend, set out a egg hunt for them or go to an organised one and a nice family dinner a roast or bbq depending on the weather.

I've never in my life taken part in, or organised, an easter egg hunt. Did these exist before recent years? You just got a big pile of chocolate eggs in our house when I was young, in days of yore. Big eggs amazingly presented in fancy boxes with the sweets inside

Anyway, that's our only tradition still; a variety of chocolate eggs. No Cadburys ones though because the taste is no longer good and the value is poor for something presented in such an unexciting way.

Chocolate egg hunt indoors, then we get some hard boiled eggs that have been marked with colouring pens (stupid faces, patterns etc) and roll them down a big hill where we live...the one who has the last egg standing wins (no shell broken or dashed against a rock)!

Then it's home for a nice roast or BBQ depending on how warm it is..we're in the South West so it's usually pretty amiable!

We always go with the children of the extended family to a National Trust egg hunt in the morning and have a buffet with extended family in the afternoon, usually with another egg hunt at home. We also put up cute Easter decorations.

We have an Easter egg hunt the week before Christmas at church, and we do crafts and different things. It's lovely. Then in the afternoon we come home, sit on the sofa and eat hot cross buns- sometimes there's us with our two kids, my parents, and my sisters with their families- total 18! It's awesome.

We do an egg hunt in my mum and dads garden and usually a nice big roast dinner on the Sunday. Easter bunny rings the doorbell and drops off the eggs but you never see him

Husband always buys Easter eggs early so we don't leave it too late to get them .And we always eat them before Easter so we have to buy more.

When we were kids there was always a bonfire at Easter and we boiled eggs outside on it. Fabulous fun lots of cousins and neighbors gathered round. Can't imagine that happening now.
We don't have any Easter traditions as such other than stuffing ourselves full of chocolate!

We always do as many as possible at least one National Trust Easter egg hunt. Other than that we don't make a huge deal of it, but the DC still end up with tons of chocolate which I have to help them with for the sake of their teeth

We used to paint eggs and roll them down a hill but now everyone seems to be on holiday we just seem to have a massive chocolate binge instead.

We get our kids and their cousins together and do a big egg hunt in the garden. Lots of small eggs and bigger ones at the end

We are a big family...4 siblings with partners , kids, normally 1 or 2 people who would otherwise be on their own so we have an Easter Egg Raffle. Each egg has a ticket on and you pick...luck of the draw. Problem is we all like the Cadbury eggs the best so some are disappointed ( but still get chocolate). We always make sure the kids get the ones they want though! My slightly mad but very much loved Mum came up with this idea....

A relatively new tradition for us is the Easter egg hunt in the garden with cousins. We make a big effort with signs all through the house and proper directions. They love it!
