With Easter fast approaching, Cadbury would like to hear about your family’s Easter traditions. Is there a tradition from your childhood that you’re passing on to the next generation? Or have you used your imagination to think up something that’s completely your own? Do you have a traditional family Easter lunch planned, or will you be spending the day working your way through your new chocolate egg stash? Is there a location you always like to visit over the long weekend? Perhaps your Easter Bunny devises egg hunts that could outfox even the wiliest of hunters?

Here’s what Cadbury has to say: “Easter is a really special time of the year where families come together and we believe Egg Hunts are the perfect ritual for the whole family to enjoy! We are really excited to hear about people’s Easter traditions and how they bring their families together during the Easter period”

Whatever your favourite family Easter traditions, share with Cadbury by the 12th April for a chance to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

For us Easter is just like any other day. I will buy the children some easter eggs or treats for Easter, but that will be it.

erindubz · 01/04/2017 19:59

A bbq and easter egg hunt if weather allows!

littledinaco · 01/04/2017 20:24

twinklenicci · 01/04/2017 21:14

a family dinner usually and a little easter egg hunt for the younger ones

towser44 · 01/04/2017 21:47

Always coincides with my partner's nan's birthday and this year is a big one, so is a big family meal/get together!

DaisyBlameless · 01/04/2017 21:50

We always have chocolate pancakes breakfast on Easter Sunday, followed by more chocolate eggs and then a huge roast leg of lamb with a chocolatey dessert.

MrsDramaQueen · 01/04/2017 22:03

Every year the kids get up to find that the naughty Easter bunny has hidden their eggs round the house. This year as they are slightly older we might do clues to find the eggs. I have also made the an Easter basket with eggs and bunny ears in them.

Annual Easter egg competition. Decorating hard boiled eggs and all the extended family get together to compare their creations.

mamof3boys · 01/04/2017 22:13

My father in law always does a fantastic Easter egg hunt - each of my 3 children gets an age appropriate quiz they need to work out to find their eggs. It's brilliant, and what is even better is that I don't have to do it! It'll be a good Easter this year as my eldest son will be 11 on Easter Monday so a double celebration.

moosexxx · 01/04/2017 22:29

We always do the easter egg hunt. Quite often we are fortunate enough to be on a short break away for Easter, so we have a new location to hide the easter eggs.
Though we do keep a count of the number of eggs that we hide, so we can tell when the kids have found them all.

HawkeyeInConfusion · 01/04/2017 22:29

Easter egg hunt here. It was something my parents did when i was a child and i automatically followed the tradition. There is no Easter bunny though. The DC know it is me.

But that is the extent of the celebration. Apart from the chocolate it is a normal day.

freefan · 01/04/2017 23:03

We always get up early to decorate our eggs before going out on a family picnic to roll them before an easter egg hunt

StandUnderMyUmbrella · 01/04/2017 23:09

I have began a tradition of only eating chocolate all day, nothing but! It may be unhealthy but eh, its one day and everything in moderation!! xx

beckyinman · 01/04/2017 23:33

Everyone round to nanna's for a lamb roast dinner, even though my mum hates lamb!

IonaAilidh11 · 02/04/2017 00:12

egg hunt followed by sunday roast

voyager50 · 02/04/2017 00:20

As atheists we don't do anything except use it as an excuse to eat chocolate! Plus I always have to work the Friday, Saturday and Monday every Easter weekend so don't have much time to spare to do anything else!

clareycat · 02/04/2017 00:35

We love to have a big family roast followed by an afternoon stroll through the local woods with the dogs and kids. Back at home we fire up the kettle for cuppa's all round and collapse in front of the TV for a family film

We're a big fan of massive family Easter buffets with lots of chocolate and spring themed food! Here's a photo from last year - delicious and fun! :D

I always plan an Easter egg hunt with clues for the kids to decipher, although it's getting harder every year to think of new ones/find new places! We also usually have a roast dinner with the family - either at my house or out at a carvery. We're actually starting a new tradition this year - we're going to have a Secret Bunny. All the adults will pull a name out and buy an Easter Egg for one other person - it will be nice to start something new!

ladygoingGaga · 02/04/2017 08:38

We love to get out and about in the fresh air as a family. So a nice walk, combined with a cream tea which is an effective bribe for the older DC's.
The extra long weekend is valuable time to spend together, and a family meal, hopefully the first BBQ of the year, with time to relax on the Sunday rather than thinking about going back to work the next day!

badgermum · 02/04/2017 08:45

We like to make the Easter Weekend as fun packed as we can, we like to go out as a family on Good Friday to a local attraction, Easter Saturday we have friends over for a meal or barbecue if the weathers good and Easter Sunday the children have an egg hit in the morning
and have the family over for a big roast dinner followed by our families traditional Easter Pudding made with hot cross buns sliced and put in a baking dish topped with apricot jam and covered in vanilla custard and baked for 15 minutes

shroney · 02/04/2017 09:25

An organised easter egg hunt in our local park then meeting family for a barbeque later with lots of eggs for kids and the adults.
