With Easter fast approaching, Cadbury would like to hear about your family’s Easter traditions. Is there a tradition from your childhood that you’re passing on to the next generation? Or have you used your imagination to think up something that’s completely your own? Do you have a traditional family Easter lunch planned, or will you be spending the day working your way through your new chocolate egg stash? Is there a location you always like to visit over the long weekend? Perhaps your Easter Bunny devises egg hunts that could outfox even the wiliest of hunters?

Here’s what Cadbury has to say: “Easter is a really special time of the year where families come together and we believe Egg Hunts are the perfect ritual for the whole family to enjoy! We are really excited to hear about people’s Easter traditions and how they bring their families together during the Easter period”

Whatever your favourite family Easter traditions, share with Cadbury by the 12th April for a chance to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Our family Easter tradition - eating chocolate eggs (usually well before Easter) then buying more when they are reduced after Easter.

debbiew21 · 01/04/2017 14:10

Painted eggs hanging from forsythia branches, just like my mum used to do. She used to disappear at night and come back with armfuls of forsythia (I hate to think where she got it from!!)

glennamy · 01/04/2017 14:19

We always get together for a traditional egg hunt in the garden over the weekend, picking the best day for weather very close to the time :)

janeyf1 · 01/04/2017 14:23

We always go for a picnic and walk in the New Forest National Park. If it is wet, we eat in the car, but enjoy the walk afterwards amongst the trees and wild ponies

shellywkd · 01/04/2017 14:28

We have a local Easter egg hunt at our local park. They also run a best decorated egg, best handmade card and a raffle. They sell cakes and drinks as well. It is a real community event that brings the village together and we have a great time every year.

We now run a Bed and Breakfast in Wales and so will be busy working, but my children were brought up a few miles from Cadburys so our Easter Sunday treasure hunts were very chocolate inspired and have become an important reason for a family gathering. My now grown up children will travel from Oxford and Milton Keynes and put up with squashed accommodation (our letting rooms are all full with people having Easter breaks) just to relive their childhood. We still have to have Hot Cross buns for breakfast and a 'treasure hunt' laid by the Easter Bunny for each family member, all separately hidden in individual areas so everyone has the same number of things at the end to prevent squabbles (not counting the ones that always mysteriously disappear, probably to the squirrels). This year we have a 15 month granddaughter who has not had sweet things yet so she is having a present based hunt of her own to start the tradition for a new generation. My husband's parents and aunt will join us for a lovely meal centred around traditional roast lamb and Simnel cake followed by a walk for those who feel energetic, through our local country park ending on the beach, then home for hot chocolate, Cadbury's of course.

A nice, simple easter egg hunt in the house followed by eating our body weight in chocolate. Same every year and we love it :)

footdust · 01/04/2017 14:52

we organise an egg hunt with cryptic clues that the kids love to work out

littleme96 · 01/04/2017 15:02

We head to a local farm where they have a Easter hunt where you have to visit different areas to find clues.

I also do an Easter egg hunt at home with little wrapped chocolate eggs. I usually hide them in the house and around the garden for the kids to find. They also have to find those little fluffy chicks and if they find them all they get an extra prize (usually a new DVD for us to all watch together as a family).

GlitterGlue · 01/04/2017 15:11

Well we used to demolish a massive pile of Cadbury's eggs, but not these days as they taste foul. HTH.

I'm totally not going to win this one.

ThemisA · 01/04/2017 15:21

If the weather is fine an Easter egg hunt in the garden - each child (and adult!) has a basket and do their best to fill it. I always keep back some to make sure everyone has a fair haul!

Elizasmum02 · 01/04/2017 15:22

the whole family go to church there is 18 of us so it gets pretty manic then we usually go to my nans ouse for a massive meal then have a easter egg hunt in the garden for the kids

maryandbuzz1 · 01/04/2017 15:31

We always host a neighbourhood egg hunt for my neighbours children which even the adults seem to enjoy. One of my favourite traditions as a child was decorating eggs and I have passed this love onto my children. I have some bought decorated Easter eggs which we hang on a branch and our decorated eggs are placed with them.

lizd31 · 01/04/2017 15:34

A Sunday Easter egg hunt is our tradition. I live in a woodland area so there's lots of places to hide them

Ganne1 · 01/04/2017 15:38

I always do what I used to do in France as a child. I would buy lots of small mini eggs and hide them all over the house. I just hoped we didn't miss any and not find them until the end of the summer!

olbndansmummy · 01/04/2017 16:11

Always hot cross buns for breakfast and roast beef dinner (can't bring myself to eat lamb!) Then chocolate all afternoon. And always always the girls and their chids round for Alice in wonderland afternoon tea on easter Monday.

HermanCakeDestroyer · 01/04/2017 16:17

Our Easter Sunday tends to follow a similar pattern. Cadburys egg chocolate for breakfast, roast dinner for lunch followed by a walk along the river. A nice, relaxed day for us.

AnimalAddict · 01/04/2017 16:45

A big family dinner followed by an Easter Egg hunt :)

sophiefx · 01/04/2017 17:02

We normally spend the day together, I make pancakes for breakfast and my little girl chooses her toppings. We then go for a walk (depending on weather) and for the rest of the day, we get a duvet on the sofa and watch some sort of movie, kids choice of course! :-)

madge47 · 01/04/2017 17:16

We have a big family meal and then have an Easter egg hunt for the little ones x

becky004 · 01/04/2017 17:47

We have lunch at our house for extended family, then weather permitting we have an Easter Egg hunt in the afternoon for the children and a BBQ for the adults.

moonray · 01/04/2017 17:49

My kids and I always bake a lovely and very yummy Colomba cake: we're of Italian descent and Colomba cake is an Italian cake in the form of a dove, an Easter sign of peace traditionally eaten at Easter :-)

emmav6 · 01/04/2017 18:12

the boys are looking forward to the end of lent & both done so well giving up biscuits & sweets :) we will be having a little egg hunt in the garden for them :)

grannybiker · 01/04/2017 18:13

Ours love hunting for foil-wrapped mini eggs around the house and garden if it's fine. (Note to self, keep newly adopted dog well out of the way!) They then spend next few days hiding them again for each other!

prwilson · 01/04/2017 18:15

To have a nice big, delicious lunch, with extended family and lots of chocolate eggs.
