With Easter fast approaching, Cadbury would like to hear about your family’s Easter traditions. Is there a tradition from your childhood that you’re passing on to the next generation? Or have you used your imagination to think up something that’s completely your own? Do you have a traditional family Easter lunch planned, or will you be spending the day working your way through your new chocolate egg stash? Is there a location you always like to visit over the long weekend? Perhaps your Easter Bunny devises egg hunts that could outfox even the wiliest of hunters?

Here’s what Cadbury has to say: “Easter is a really special time of the year where families come together and we believe Egg Hunts are the perfect ritual for the whole family to enjoy! We are really excited to hear about people’s Easter traditions and how they bring their families together during the Easter period”

Whatever your favourite family Easter traditions, share with Cadbury by the 12th April for a chance to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

we have an easter egg hunt in the garden every year

AR2012 · 02/04/2017 11:00

we do a egg hunt

suzyq50 · 02/04/2017 11:21

I make up a Easter egg hunt, preferably in the garden but with bad weather inside. I use clues & the kids love it.

We don't do Easter, but the ILs do. If we're visiting them we get the Full Monty roast dinner (and MIL makes a fabulous roast dinner) on the Sunday, followed by a tramp through fields and woodland around their house, with tea and cake when we get back and Lindt chocolate bunnies for the dc.

If we're not visiting them over Easter they post the chocolate bunnies to the dc.

A egg hunt and after that a nice meal with my family.

Although we were born in Catholic families we didn't grow very religious, so we never got together for Easter but were quickly to pack our swimming custumes and go to the beach. That was back in Venezuela, where just the sound of the words Semana Santa(Holy Week) was a straight synonym of sun, sand and freedom.
Nowadays we still have sand...not so much sun but a lot of freedom.
And away we go to hear the seagulls and have nice chips.

We don't really have any familiy Easter traditions except for giving Easter eggs to the children.

Rachdayan · 02/04/2017 15:59

Making an Easter Bonnet. I did it with my grandma and have great memories. It's a tradition.

My daughter's godfather always does an Easter Egg hunt for her. It started when she was a toddler and has gone on from there. He always hides the eggs in really hard and awkward places - so much so that during the autumn, we usually find eggs dropping down from the hedges and trees!

cwalliss82 · 02/04/2017 16:40

We hard-boil eggs and then paint them and roll them down a hill in the village that I grew up in (and where my parents still live). The objective is to get you egg intact the furthest. We discovered that varnishing you painted egg makes it more robust and less likely to break up when rolled.

nothing special. but its the one time when chocolate for breakfast is acceptable but a tasty roast lunch and a long walk make a perfect day

vcoxee · 02/04/2017 19:35

Lots of Easter theme baking involved and crafty activities!

CopperPan · 02/04/2017 19:42

We have a family get together and have an Easter lunch with lamb. Some years we do an egg hunt but it's not a big deal if we don't. Some years we go away over Easter as it's often too hot to visit some places in August so that ends up being the main holiday.

Funkyferret · 02/04/2017 20:12

We always have an Easter picnic, whatever the weather. Even if that means eating it in the car! We really like Easter as it's a chance to relax and get out into the countryside but without the awful pressure of Christmas. My husband is the chocoholic in this house so I think it may be his favourite time of year!

Theimpossiblegirl · 02/04/2017 20:17

We are quite traditional, an egg hunt, visit to church, family meal and a nice walk. Much like Christmas but without the presents.

Rosehips · 02/04/2017 20:19

We don't really do easter, but we'll usually hide some eggs for the kids

liz1970 · 02/04/2017 20:21

an easter egg hunt in the garden :)

Ikea1234 · 02/04/2017 20:48

We ALWAYS go to a National Trust property and take part in an Easter Egg Hunt. We take a picnic, and the egg is shared out afterwards! It's lovely to spend time together and just be outside in the fresh air!

pfcpompeysarah · 02/04/2017 22:06

We tend to head to a country pub for a nice meal with the family, if the weather is good we will work off the calories after with a nice stroll through the fields or along the beach locally.

StrawberryDaiquiriDooDah · 02/04/2017 23:22

During spring we take the DC to the woods every weekend to collect sticks to make an Easter tree which we hang painted eggs on (we paint new ones each year and add the ones from previous years)

We always take the DC to the cinema on good Friday and on Easter Sunday we we have Easter eggs for breakfast before joining our extended family for a big lamb dinner.

tubbyj · 03/04/2017 00:20

Eat lots of easter eggs is the only tradition

phillie1 · 03/04/2017 08:47

Church, followed by easter egg hunt, in the form of a treasure hunt, with clues, which get harder and more cryptic the older they get

finleypop · 03/04/2017 09:11

We go to a local farm, where they have organised egg hunts & feeding the baby goats

southernsun · 03/04/2017 10:52

We have an easter egg hunt at home before meeting at nanny and grandads for another egg hunt and a roast dinner. We then all go out as a family on Easter Monday to do our local easter egg/quiz hunt.

Cataline · 03/04/2017 11:47

As children, we'd always get new sandals and an outfit for Easter- as well as a mountain of Easter eggs!

My mum has continued this tradition with my son- buying him shoes or clothes each Easter. His other grandparents buy him the mountain of chocolate!!

We tend to not buy chocolate as there's always so much from other family members but we'll try and do lovely activities in the Easter holidays as a family and as time off allows!
