Fairy Non Bio is sponsoring the Mumsnet Talk App, and would like you to talk about the pre-birth rituals you had (or have!) with the impending arrival of your little one. Did you wash all of the tiny new baby clothes you’d bought, then carefully fold and hang them? Maybe you manically cleaned the house in preparation or over-eagerly try and toddler proof the house? Perhaps you bulk-made meals so that you could relax once your baby arrived?

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio have to say: “Fairy Non Bio is good for anyone who wants a softer, more sensitive wash (that still leaves clothes clean!). Its gentle formula promises to be kind to both your clothes, and to yours and your new baby’s skin”

So, alongside the Fairy Non Bio sponsorship of the Mumsnet Talk App, they’d like you to talk about the pre-birth rituals you’ve had. If you avidly check out Mumsnet's talk boards, you should download the app for yourself. It's free, and allows you to be part of the conversation wherever you are!

All those who post below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

making sure everything is ready to go and probably just worrying I'd forgotten something, miy mind just didn't stop. When I should have been resting I was constantly on the go!

Washing everything and hanging it out on the line was my favourite Smile

I covered a Moses basket and made the mattress, frills, hood etc all without a pattern. I was never any good at sewing until I suddenly decided that I wanted to make this specially for my first baby. This was a great success and led to me making loads of clothes and furnishings ready for when she arrived. I loved the nursery that we decorated and used to look at all the little things on a daily basis trying to imagine what it would feel like to be a mum.

Washed and sorted the baby clothes, painted my toe nails and dyed my hair.

I worked up until a week before my due date, but by then everything was spotless, ready for baby! His clothes were all cleaned and ironed, and his crib looked perfect. He didn't come for another 3 weeks, so I had a lot of time to do some extra cleaning and tidying up :)

Our baby is adopted, so this is 'pre coming home' rather than 'pre birth'. Hope that's allowed! On advice from the social workers, we washed everything - his sheets, blankets, sleeping bag, clothes - in the washing liquid used in his care home. We cleaned the house with the same cleaning materials and bought the same air freshener. I even started wearing the same fragrance as his foster carer (and excuse to buy perfume!).

Go shopping when in labour it's what I did as I had loads of time to kill! Hospital tend to send you for walks anyway so why not do what you like plus it keeps you distracted albeit till the next contraction comes along! I just stopped for a breather and carried on straight after 😆 Also make sure all baby clothes are washed and sorted by age keep them together though as same sizes vary from shop to shop make sure to check against similar sizes

I am.currently pregnant and washing all of my old baby clothes, and trying to work out how to reconfigure my daughters room to fit another child in. I am also packing my hospital bag with baby clothes, towels and my clothes. Also I have gone from someone who I would describe as clean but not fanatical, to getting annoyed at the slightest dust, so constantly cleaning!

my mum made lots of meals and froze them so there was food in the house for when she went into labour xx
