In the run-up to the release of their new movie ‘Nine Lives’ on 17th August, Lionsgate would like to hear about the things your pets do that make you think there could be a human trapped inside of them Grin

Here’s what Lionsgate has to say:

‘Nine Lives in a new comedy to be released later this summer, and stars family favourites Kevin Spacey, Christopher Walken, and Jennifer Garner. The plot is about an uptight businessman who is transported into the body of his family’s house cat, as a punishment for him focussing too much on work and not being there for his family, and as expected hilarity ensues.’

‘Take a look at the trailer below:’

So what do your pets do that make you think there’s a human trapped inside them? Do they watch the telly? Comfort your DCs? Or even roll their eyes at you? Are they super sassy or amusingly grumpy all the time? Please tell us about your pet’s human traits below and feel free to share photos of your pets too!

Everyone who posts below will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will be able to choose from a £300 Cineworld or Leisure voucher.

Thanks!

Cleaning out the cat litter: it's as if she's saying "oh thanks, don'y mind if I do" then uses it straight away.

WuTangFlan · 04/08/2016 19:10

She knows what she's not allowed to do (scratch sofa, walk across table)... and yet she does it anyway. While maintaining eye contact the whole time.

ataraxia · 04/08/2016 19:33

My rabbit was like a teenage boy - eat, sleep, repeat!

Julieguy · 04/08/2016 21:50

I don't know where to start. My 9 year old chocolate lab is like a child. He gets worried if he can't see you when we go for a walk. He waits for you to move things on the settee so he can sit with you. He snores louder than my hubby. He just sits and stares at you dead on 5 o clock when it's dinner time. I could go on and on. It's definitely like having another person in the house. But I adore him.

My cat Toebit, well I think he had some problems; even as a kitten he used to wait for me on top of the living room door so he could attack me by jumping on my head in the morning! I think he was a hired hit man, as he got bigger he changed his tactics to hiding behind the door or sofa and leaping out to sink his teeth into my leg. I had to prise his jaws apart and carry him to his food to get him to stop!

Our puppy is 6 months old and just like a child. She already has her place on the sofa and growls when you move her to sit down. She cries and whimpers when one of the DC go out of sight -she cannot understand why she cannot be with them all the time. She gives proper hugs too- when we pick her up for a cuddle she puts a paw either side of your neck and snuggles her nose down into your neck and closes her eyes!

lu44cy · 05/08/2016 17:38

My cat, Lucy, knocks on the front window with her paw (like a china doll) with her claws out so we can hear her knock to let her in. She also positions the cushions on the couch so she is comfortable, like a human does!

Mollie only barks for one thing - once someone is up she wants the living room door open so she can make herself comfy on the sofa!

She's a bit too small to reach the handle or I'm sure she would let herself in before we even got up ;)

When my cat catches a bird and brings it in proudly to give it to me.It reminds me of when my children do something they are proud of and come to me to show me.

Andbabymakesthree · 07/08/2016 08:13

My cat knows when I'm pregnant. She's more institutive than me! Shes always there if I need a tickle and makes me stroke her to calm down.

redbook · 07/08/2016 17:18

My cat is tuned into my emotions. She knows when I'm lonely, sad or unhappy. She also shows her disdain when I'm being silly.

Mine loads the washing machine although he doesn't do wet cloths or swimsuits. He will collect the laundry from the bottom of the stairs where it lands when I chuck it down and put it in the machine. He has other talents but I'll out myself if I yell you all about them!

Our budgie, Peanut, gives me kisses and comes on my shoulder when she wants me to take her around the house. She is such a character..

stewaris · 07/08/2016 21:17

We have a chicken who would kill for a grape - have thought of training her as a ninja chicken. If she doesn't get one when she wants she jumps on the sunroom window sills and taps on the window. If that doesn't work she will tap the sunroom door with her beak and has been known to scratch the door with her claw. All to make sure she gets what she wants! None of the rest of them do that but they gladly hang on to her coat tails and take whatever grapes they can get to before her.

lorka · 08/08/2016 14:58

Our pet hamster runs up to the bars, when anyone is near, and jumps up and down, squeaking with excitement!! She is like an excited toddler wanting up!! :)

lesley37 · 08/08/2016 14:59

We had a rabbit that we let out of his hutch in the morning, he had the run of the whole garden all day and we would put him back in the hutch at dusk, if we were going out for the evening and had to put him back in his hutch before dusk he would sulk all the next day.

hermancakedestroyer · 08/08/2016 15:08

We have a little pet budgie called Reg. He's a sweet bird with a great personality. I think he has a human inside him because he generally quite quiet and then when the Eastenders theme tune comes on the television he sings along with it and then goes quiet when the time finishes! Bless him

If my cat Asche has a human inside him it's because he ate it. If Our cat Jess has a human inside him then I think it's likely he touched something shiny he wasn't meant too and got magicked into an animal. He can't keep his paws off anything nice, if he had pockets he'd fill them.

WolfiesDad · 08/08/2016 15:40

We have 3 dogs who are each a special character.
One of them is nearly as grumpy as my wife.
One has a real sense of humour and will try to stealthily steal things from under your nose.
The other is an independent soul, who shows his love with some of the best cuddles.
All three are key members of our family

My dog Star who I had for 14 years was amazing, she would turn her back on you and sulk if you told her off.
When she had her puppies she was an excellent mum but when she needed a break, she would on top of the kitchen worktops so the pups couldn`t reach her. If only it was that easy for us humans lol. She was a great friend.

TheViewFromTheSheepSeats · 08/08/2016 17:50

Our male cat takes it on himself to tell the female cat off if she is doing something so is not meant to (he always follows the rules)
He also refuses to enter the house any way but through the front door, won't eat from the floor and likes to sit on top of the to remote (typical man-trapped-in-cat behaviour)

sealight123 · 08/08/2016 21:27

My parents dogs spend there life climbing into your spot in the bed when you go to the toilet in he middle of the night.. silly puppies...that's a people bed!

Pickofthepops · 08/08/2016 21:31

Not actually our cat but he thinks he is and I wish he was :-) Hugo is the most handsome boy tabby and he loves to tease the magpies most evenings. He stretches out and pretends to be asleep on road or pavement. They go absolutely mad swooping over him and hopping closer and closer until,he lazily stretches a paw and does a silent miaow at which point they fly off. The look on his face and the timing of his game, on a v regular basis is just so clever and pre meditated.

Oh, and he calls for us every Friday night after school. He is just a lovely boy and a friend - truly one of us:-)

MumboNumber5 · 08/08/2016 22:55

My dog can hear a kitkat being opened at 100 paces and loves watching Neighbours - runs in whenever he hears the soundtrack.

We are 98% certain that my Jack Russell is a covert Russian spy. She has perfected the stealth tip toe when sneaking to the kitchen. Pads only no claw, veeeery slowly.. As a loner any newcomers are subject to a series of 'unfortunate happenings'. That little pot plant on the table, previously untouched, suddenly destroyed. Beady eyes read 'puppy did it'. Puppy can't get on the table. A poo and a pee on the floor. How awful. Beady eyes, non blinking. Puppy did it. Puppy is in its crate 🙄. Huge dramatic squeal when puppy brushes past requiring sympathy lots please and removal if you wouldn't mind of the intruder. I work alone. Beady eyed. Always watching 😐
