In the run-up to the release of their new movie ‘Nine Lives’ on 17th August, Lionsgate would like to hear about the things your pets do that make you think there could be a human trapped inside of them Grin

Here’s what Lionsgate has to say:

‘Nine Lives in a new comedy to be released later this summer, and stars family favourites Kevin Spacey, Christopher Walken, and Jennifer Garner. The plot is about an uptight businessman who is transported into the body of his family’s house cat, as a punishment for him focussing too much on work and not being there for his family, and as expected hilarity ensues.’

‘Take a look at the trailer below:’

So what do your pets do that make you think there’s a human trapped inside them? Do they watch the telly? Comfort your DCs? Or even roll their eyes at you? Are they super sassy or amusingly grumpy all the time? Please tell us about your pet’s human traits below and feel free to share photos of your pets too!

Everyone who posts below will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will be able to choose from a £300 Cineworld or Leisure voucher.

Thanks!

Buddy our golden retriever thinks he is a human. Barks to go out and come in from the garden. Barks to go for a walk and when he wants feeding. Also he isn't allowed upstairs. He waits for the car to pull off the drive and then goes upstairs.

Our Guinea pigs Mario and Luigi love dance music especially Basment Jaxx so I think there DJs trapped in little Guinea bodies xxx

PeggyMitchell123 · 02/08/2016 20:31

Our cat Salam is a diva. God forbid you buy her the wrong brand of food because she will just sit there staring at you in disgust. She also sleeps on my son's bed every night and sit on his lap all the time.

SuzCG · 02/08/2016 21:25

The way my dog 'talks' to me in a morning when she first sees me - she has this little way of rumbling at me that the kids are convinced sounds just like she's trying to chat to me.

She's also very sensitive with her emotions and always rushes to comfort and sit by anyone who is upset.

insan1tyscartching · 02/08/2016 22:02

Eric definitely believes he is human. He "talks" with a series of whines, growls and yaps to let you know what he is thinking. Character wise I imagine him to be like Norris Cole on Corrie. He's interfering, nosy and pretty judgemental and really doesn't grasp just how annoying he can be.

kateandme · 02/08/2016 23:10

watches the weather and when its bad will make a noise of complaint haha.
is far to clever not to understand every word we are saying.too emotionaly intelligent to us not to know as humans would how we are feeling when we talk to her.

angiehoggett · 03/08/2016 09:22

my parrot Kimoken is definitely a secret human, he eats when we do, sleeps when we do, likes cuddles and communicates with us!

Hopezibah · 03/08/2016 17:05

our cat is just like the kids - as soon as you get up off the sofa, she'd pinch your space!

bluebump · 03/08/2016 18:00

Our guinea pig died on Monday but she was part of our gang, she used to love to be rolled along slowly on my DS's skateboard and always joined us in the garden for a play.

Chiddles09 · 03/08/2016 20:01

Our dog thinks she is the children's nanny, when my youngest was a baby she would be straight there if he cried. If I put him down anywhere she would run between us until I picked him up, judging my mothering!

KittyKat88 · 03/08/2016 22:36

I have many interesting conversations every day with my very 'talkative' Bengal - she knows all my secrets! Shock

Our puppy Hank makes me feel like he has a human trapped inside him because sometimes he acts just like my baby daughter! He is always looking around, absorbing new information and trying to work things out, with a calm and measured expression. This is a photo of him trying to analyse and figure out the snow the first time he saw it this past winter.

Mu dog will sit near, well on, anyone in the room who is sad. She then forces cuddles on them until they feel better. She's like a very thoughtful person who doesn't respect personal space.

itshappenedagain · 04/08/2016 09:43

Our dog is definitely a human...or so he thinks. He sits next to you and replies when you talk to him. We went for a walk last week and when someone went to pat him and said "aren't you lovely" he dutifully replied. Her face was a picture!

sarahsnail · 04/08/2016 10:03

Our cat "Fluffy" follows the children into the bathroom when it's bathtime. She races us to the bathroom (always wins) and sits in the bath waiting for the tap to be turned on so she can drink from the tap...... all this happens BEFORE I can even start to run the kids bath.

mumsnit · 04/08/2016 11:53

My cat sits by my bed in the mornings and has taken it upon herself to be my personal alarm clock. So to wake me up she gives me a gentle tap - aka claw in the face/arm or whatever part of me she can reach. There's definitely no lie in with her around Grin

Here is our cat Magic displaying how much she hates the British Weather, she was defiantly a human from a warmer country!

Our pooch insists on sitting behind the desk at work and sits up and wears his seatbelt in the car!

Our dog Bono, has a toddler trapped inside of him. He is always demanding our attention and if we go to make a fuss of one of the other dogs, he is there, pushing his way to the front. At night, all three dogs sleep on our bedroom floor but Bono will climb onto our bed and snuggle up inbetween my husband and I for a cuddle. If we give the dogs toys, Bono will steal all the toys - he doesn't like to share his, but will take those of the other dogs. Having four children, Bono is by the most jealous and demanding "child" we have ever had.

My cat, Pickle, has perfected a meow that sounds like "out" when she needs a wee. Only ever uses that meow when she wants the door opening.

She also once greeted my early return from work one day by looking at me, looking at the clock on the wall, then back at me. I actually said "yes, I know I'm early" before I'd realised I'd answered!

Our dog seems to have a human trapped inside him as he only ever wants to eat human food! He began to turn up his nose at any dog food we served him, preferring to wait for whatever we're having for tea Confused

Blizy · 04/08/2016 12:55

My cat will only drink his water from a glass, numerous cat bowls have been bought and each one has not been given a look in. He much prefers a glass of water!

DeloresJaneUmbridge · 04/08/2016 14:23

I have a tortoise who is basically a grumpy old man. He walks around the garden and chases off cats. The neighborhood cats are all terrified of him. He's also a great gardener and keeps the dandelions in check.

Bubbles2002 · 04/08/2016 18:04

My cats used to stand up on their hind legs and knock the door knocker to come in to the house.

renee8100 · 04/08/2016 18:15

My dog "whispers" to me! If there's something he wants me to know (such as that he wants to go outside to do a peepee, or go walkies, or some water) he'll come over and lightly "woof" in my ear, with such a communicative look of meaning in his eyes and a unique way of signalling what he needs. It's amazing how smart pets can be!
