In the run-up to the release of their new movie ‘Nine Lives’ on 17th August, Lionsgate would like to hear about the things your pets do that make you think there could be a human trapped inside of them Grin

Here’s what Lionsgate has to say:

‘Nine Lives in a new comedy to be released later this summer, and stars family favourites Kevin Spacey, Christopher Walken, and Jennifer Garner. The plot is about an uptight businessman who is transported into the body of his family’s house cat, as a punishment for him focussing too much on work and not being there for his family, and as expected hilarity ensues.’

‘Take a look at the trailer below:’

So what do your pets do that make you think there’s a human trapped inside them? Do they watch the telly? Comfort your DCs? Or even roll their eyes at you? Are they super sassy or amusingly grumpy all the time? Please tell us about your pet’s human traits below and feel free to share photos of your pets too!

Everyone who posts below will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will be able to choose from a £300 Cineworld or Leisure voucher.

Thanks!

My Bichon 'Peanuts' has many human traits. He's become very lazy lately and doesn't bound down the garden path to bark at the postie anymore, instead he jumps on my son's little car and drives down. He doesn't even bother barking...just honks the horn!

My dog isnt a morning person like me, she grumps and huffs at hubby when he has early starts and disturbs her sleeping when he comes downstairs Grin

Charbru123 · 25/07/2016 22:13

my cat wont stop talking

sehunnie · 25/07/2016 22:42

Timmy, our Yorkie, was probably a hockey player in a former life! Won't play fetch unless he has something in his mouth to knock the ball around with!

lhlee62 · 25/07/2016 23:03

My old dog Ruby was a proper old lady, she would give me dirty looks when I said it was walkies. She was getting on a bit and just liked to stay inside and watch the TV.

My dogs instinctively know my moods and try to get my attention for cuddles if I am feeling sad or upset. When I am happy they are very bouncy and playful.

I used to have a cat who would sit in the window and wait for me to get home. He would raise a paw and rub the window when he saw me, it looked like he was waving hello

lottietiger · 26/07/2016 09:31

My pony definitely has a human inside. She loves playing football with my son and follows him round when he is playing on his tractor like she wants to join in. She will eat all sorts of foods like banana and pears and will steal them out of your hand if you are not looking!

StampQueen12 · 26/07/2016 09:52

Our cat, Bill Sykes, is a very particular gentleman. He sits in his favourite chair all day and if he gets up for any reason and someone has dared to sit in it, he gives them the death stare, before waving his bum in their face.

shivbrown · 26/07/2016 11:54

Ollie is so much more human than dog, i even caught him hanging out the washing yesterday...

Our German Shepherd tries to talk when we talk and she adores eating fresh watermelon and apples...weirdo!

Elliepurpleflower · 27/07/2016 07:52

Our rabbit would Pass our dd's football to us and steal your biscuit out of your hands if it had a chance!

Mozarmstrong · 27/07/2016 08:29

Our guinea pigs deffo like humans soo funny. I buy them their own salad mix bags and they squeak very loud when their food is lush!

windowmouse · 27/07/2016 09:51

My cat defo thinks she is human. She wants to sit at the table for dinner and certainly obviously when she is annoyed at you just by looking at her face.

SillyMoomin · 27/07/2016 12:30

We used to have piranhas - I know they're not the most facially expressive of animals, but I swear, you could tell when they were having a bad day!!

A flick and swish of the tail and they'd turn their backs on you and flounce off with a huff

Our dog thinks she is the recycling police. If you put the can in the wrong bin she will go in and fetch it for you and put it in the right bin. Sometimes she gets caught out though...

My dog and budgie talk to each other! Not sure about the human inside though but both are cheeky wee boys.

CoteDAzur · 27/07/2016 21:59

I would "celebrate" if Kevin Spacey filmed a sequel to The Usual Suspects.

Don't feel obliged to enter me into the prize draw Smile

rhinosuze · 27/07/2016 22:02

Oh my guinea pigs (or daughters to be fair) are such little divas just like her! They'll only drink from a saucer, only eat fresh veg and those tiny sweetcorns instead of animal food and they 'chat' all the way through corrie

pfcpompeysarah · 27/07/2016 22:08

Our cat is a character, he likes things his way or no way. He sits by the fridge staring at the food cupboard until we feed him, he wakes us up by stomping all over the bed and sitting on the bedside table trying to stroke my face (very frightening if not expecting it in the darkness!!). I am hard of hearing and a single parent, when I used to sleep through the baby monitor noise while my son was crying in his cot as a baby, our cat used to come in and paw my shoulder until I woke up and realised why.

LeeR1985 · 27/07/2016 22:32

My cat has a devil inside her, not a human! She's so aggressive!! And when I tell her off, she just looks at me like "who do you think you are? shut up!"

jandoc · 28/07/2016 13:40

my brother's jack russell won't eat unless he's in the house... very frustrating

ClockBusCanada · 28/07/2016 17:39

One of my cats high fives me. For ages he wouldn't do it if someone else was there so no-one believed me, but now he does it all the time.

hannahlubella · 28/07/2016 19:41

Our rabbit liked to eat his dinner with the rest of the family, before settling down for a night of TV.

My friend's cat is like a moody teenager, nothing is ever quite satisfactory for him and my friend is a slave to his whims and desires. He shuns affection and only shows any interest if he is getting something. He also regularly picks on his sibling for no reason. I often feel that if he could speak he would just say 'whatever!'
