In the run-up to the release of their new movie ‘Nine Lives’ on 17th August, Lionsgate would like to hear about the things your pets do that make you think there could be a human trapped inside of them Grin

Here’s what Lionsgate has to say:

‘Nine Lives in a new comedy to be released later this summer, and stars family favourites Kevin Spacey, Christopher Walken, and Jennifer Garner. The plot is about an uptight businessman who is transported into the body of his family’s house cat, as a punishment for him focussing too much on work and not being there for his family, and as expected hilarity ensues.’

‘Take a look at the trailer below:’

So what do your pets do that make you think there’s a human trapped inside them? Do they watch the telly? Comfort your DCs? Or even roll their eyes at you? Are they super sassy or amusingly grumpy all the time? Please tell us about your pet’s human traits below and feel free to share photos of your pets too!

Everyone who posts below will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will be able to choose from a £300 Cineworld or Leisure voucher.

Thanks!

We have a black labrador as a family pet and we often say that we think he's secretly a human. He has the best intuation e.g. when DD is upset, he always goes to sit by her and tries to comfort her by bringing his toys and when he does something "naughty" like stealing a sock, after we've finished chasing him to get it back, he takes himself off to his bed as if taking himself to a "naughty step".

We only have fish, so not much to say.

My cat meows to me when someone is at the door as to say "can you get the door"

Cambam2010 · 25/07/2016 11:39

My cat has a human toddler trapped inside. He makes a huge fuss over the littlest of things and then when you give in and give him what he wants, he no longer wants it - dreading the teenage years!

Our two boys think their human! I don't even know where to begin!

Firstly, we live with them not the other way around!

They have doggy beer, ice cream and popcorn. They sleep in the humans bed and have their food delivered via post! They sit up on the sofa and howl away to the eastenders theme tune whilst spooning each other.

They have their very own car seat, ramp for the sofa and bed and enjoy a cup of tea and scrambled egg of a morning!

Our dog has to have toast in the morning or she refuses to drink her water, unless she has sat down with us at breakfast and shared our toast she will just sit there and sulk.

My cat will play football with my son

RACHELSMITH45 · 25/07/2016 13:49

My cat definitely is a child in disguise! She follows us to school every single day.. one day recently even walked in with the other children (had to go and get her out myself!) She'll jump on the bottom of the pram as if she's on a buggy board.. She sits herself down on the spare dining room chair and taps us for food! She even sounds as if she's talking when she cries.. hilarious!!

sharond101 · 25/07/2016 13:59

My dig learned to answer the door. We had to get a lock up high to stop her.

leelo · 25/07/2016 14:30

we have pet allergies in our home but thought we would be safe with goldfish. however they were aggressive and one gave the other a black eye and then after a few days tried to eat the other one. it was like watching a slower version of coronation street with a punch up at the rovers return. we had to supply the dialogue though and my kids came up with funny accents at the time. no pets until the children can look after reptiles i think.

My dog Monty will not bring a ball back UNLESS there is a treat on offer. Then he complies 100 percent perfect!!

One of my cats talks to e constantly when ever I enter the room. I know it's attention seeking but I have a habit of talking back to her lol

littleme96 · 25/07/2016 14:46

Our dog knows when a member of the family is feeling unwell and takes it upon himself to stick by their side and cuddle them until they are feeling better (whether the extra attention is wanted or not!). It is quite cute, but sometimes you don't want a shaggy dog on top of you - especially if you have a temperature!

Our cat oddly has very human tastes in food and has been caught stealing leftover chips.

glennamy · 25/07/2016 15:15

We have 2 dogs and they are really different in nature, they both know how to push each other's buttons though... One barks to set the other off barking in order to relinquish their warm spot and then nicks it... They are not allowed on the sofa, but are always trying their luck... They always know when you are upset and come over for a cuddle to cheer us up... One of them is happy to be on its own but the other always runs from room to room when we are in separate rooms, whether that is to check on us or just for attention or a treat... however they both jump up from sleeping if they hear someone go into the kitchen wanting a treat! They are definitely more human than some of us because they seem to get their own way quite a lot in this household!

So we don't have a cat or a dog. We have a tortoise. She is called Keith. (The name was chosen by my son long before we chose her) She is very much part of our otherwise human family. She sulks if we go on holiday (leaving her in the very capable hands of my father in law), she refuses to get in her water bowl until warm enough (tested by putting in one foot, shaking it off and giving us a look before skulking away) and refuses to eat most of the dark leafy greens tortoises are supposed to love, opting instead for chicory, carrots and mushrooms. Finally, anything she doesn't like ends up in her water bowl, whatever it may be. Pull it out, it goes straight back in.
Does she exasperate us? Absolutely! Would we be without her? Never!

Our cat is 100% cat. (or possibly 20% tiger) The only way there would be any human inside her is if she ate them!

She does, however, have a definite Welsh accent. (we don't live anywhere near Wales)

Havingkittens04 · 25/07/2016 17:45

My gorgeous cat Stanley is my best friend and constant companion when I'm poorly or upset. I have been suffering with morning sickness for the past 9 weeks and whenever I'm in bed he's protectively, considerately curled up beside me. He was the same as this when I was pg with DD 3 years ago. He knows when I need company and comforting, and his paw is often on my hand or on my belly Halo

His brother Ollie also acts like your best friend....when he wants food Hmm

Stanley

our neighbours cat is super human, waits for me coming home and then slips through door on my way in and then hides in house till we find him, usually all cozy in a cupboard

alabaster002 · 25/07/2016 19:06

My pet python may have a human inside.......eek!

Marg2k8 · 25/07/2016 19:18

Our dog is no longer with us, but he used to love playing with my children, even when they dressed him up in fancy dress etcc.

wobblywindows · 25/07/2016 19:25

Whenever my daughter is late back (most nights) her fluffy white cat sits halfway down the drive -we imagine she's glaring at DDs car - and someone has to physically move her so we can park up. Then she'll jump on the roof of the car and try swiping at DD as she gets out. The cat does seem to be really cross when my DD comes home after dark.
