In the run-up to the release of their new movie ‘Nine Lives’ on 17th August, Lionsgate would like to hear about the things your pets do that make you think there could be a human trapped inside of them Grin

Here’s what Lionsgate has to say:

‘Nine Lives in a new comedy to be released later this summer, and stars family favourites Kevin Spacey, Christopher Walken, and Jennifer Garner. The plot is about an uptight businessman who is transported into the body of his family’s house cat, as a punishment for him focussing too much on work and not being there for his family, and as expected hilarity ensues.’

‘Take a look at the trailer below:’

So what do your pets do that make you think there’s a human trapped inside them? Do they watch the telly? Comfort your DCs? Or even roll their eyes at you? Are they super sassy or amusingly grumpy all the time? Please tell us about your pet’s human traits below and feel free to share photos of your pets too!

Everyone who posts below will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will be able to choose from a £300 Cineworld or Leisure voucher.

Thanks!

Our two dogs definitely have humans inside - they can tell the time. Not just the knowing it's time they were fed kind of time telling, but they know if it's time for my husband to come home from work, time for the fire to be lit in winter, bedtime, and 101 other things. Got to be little people in there!

Our four year old border collie, Buster really does think and act like he's one of my babies!. He's so mardy!, he's not exactly a small dog but he loves to lay on his back in my arms like a baby, he will stay there for hours if I let him.

My dog Lexi sits on chairs like a human with her paws in front of her. She regularly turns her nose up to dog food as she prefers to eat grandmas roast chicken dinners! She knows how to high 5 and fist pump too and hates it when she's not the centre of attention Smile

ButterflyOfFreedom · 24/07/2016 20:39

Definitely the comforting element - the dogs in our family seem to know when a snuggle or lick (!) is required!

Atlas15 · 24/07/2016 22:41

My cat is like a teenager sometimes. Wakes up late, eats shits and goes back to sleep.

mave · 25/07/2016 06:45

Our dog Monty sulks when you go out and leave him, gets so moody and goes off to lie on his bed with very sad eyes! Fortunately we don't leave him often!!!

STANLEY our Labradoodle can tell the time and nudges us when he hears the church bells chime at 11 and 3 his walking time
When we are being silly and playing games he always joins in...very much part of the family.

The family cat is sensitive to our health - it plays up when we are fine but if one of us is ill, it sits by the suffering person quietly as if in support

jt75 · 25/07/2016 07:08

My cat used to come into the bathroom with me every morning and "talk" to me.

my little Maltese although only being 3 is a 'grumpy old man' he hates going outside, and moans moans moans whist he lead is being put on, and when we put him to bed at night time, walks soo slowly to his bed almost mutters under his breath 'grumble moan grumble' however whenever we go out for a couple of hours and leave him, he is so delighted we are home he is a 3 year old 'pupply again, jumping jumping jumping with a high pitched waa waa woo bark 'you're home you're home, your're home'

Our dog likes to curl up under the duvet in our bed, she loves to go shopping (I hate shopping!) and we have to choose shops which allow dogs and given a chance would have port and chocolates (but as toxic to dogs not allowed!). Oh, and she loves lego, nice and crunchy!

hiddenmichelle · 25/07/2016 07:41

Our Dog loves cornflakes and a cup of tea in the morning!

My dog gets excited when ive ordered a chinese

ell5454 · 25/07/2016 07:51

My grandmas dog was truly human, he had an allergy to grass so had to wear knitted shoes and would get excited every time he put them on.

planepointer · 25/07/2016 08:04

The looks our cat can give you - a million and one human expressions, each with their own meaning!

izbiz88 · 25/07/2016 08:09

I can't wait to watch this film, it looks very funny! My cat has many human traits - he loves snuggling up with me in my bed, he drinks tea out of a saucer (he's a very British cat) and he even tries to join us at the table for dinner (I draw the line at that one!)

phillie1 · 25/07/2016 08:30

The way our dog cuddles up to me and stays by my side, when I most need comforting

libra101 · 25/07/2016 08:34

I'm totally convinced that my little dog Barney has a human inside him!

He knows how to get his own way, just sits there, giving me 'the stare' when he wants something, either a mate to play football, or time for his walk. When out on the field or exploring the woods, he runs off on his own, forgetting time and place.

He demands his 'chicken dinner' at the same time each day, biscuits aren't good enough for this little foodie.

When snoozing he snores! Loudly! Wakes everyone up, and loves having his tummy ticked. Don't we all!

Princess is a positively pampered puss who thinks she's a human. When the doorbell rings she dashes to the front door to greet whoever it is so they can make a fuss of her. She follows me everywhere, she's laying across my arms as I type. When I go to the bathroom she comes with me, when I water the garden she follows me around supervising & when I fill up all my bird baths she has to drink from them to test them. At bedtime she comes with me & curls up on my pillow where she stays until I get up in the morning

happysouls · 25/07/2016 09:09

My cat always used to look upset when anyone was upset, he'd approach cautiously with a look of concern...is it possible for a cat to have a look of concern?...and he'd miouw and sort of lean against you like giving a hug! Ahhh he was so lovely!

PeaceOfWildThings · 25/07/2016 09:39

My cat thinks my main job in life is to sit with her, cuddle her, listen to her. She says hello (talks like a tellytubby, I hope she one day might have a grown up voice. Joanna Lumley's would be AbFab.) She drinks water from pint glasses and a goblet (one DH brought bach from a beer festival that we don't have cupnoard space for).

DH is away a lot and she takes his spot in bed, and is extra attentive when he's not around.

When she thinks I'm upset with her, or I need cheering up, she brings me gifts. Live ones!

When she thinks Ive been sitting around inside too long, she cries at the back door until I go out and play/run about.

I love how my dog gizmo is such a little human he only eats human food likes to drink Tea and sits at the kitchen table and sleeps upstairs in my bedroom he knows when it's bed time he collects his blanket and goes upstairs to get in his bed oh and he loves to be dressed up in clothes he is such an odd little thing but I just love how he doesn't believe he is a dog at all in his mind he is just like one of my kids

finleypop · 25/07/2016 10:19

We inherited mums cat when she died. She is 17 years old but gives us so much love & fun. Every time our 13yr old son goes to his room, she runs upstairs, cries really loudly & then runs away. My son says she is playing knock a door run!

lollydollylove · 25/07/2016 10:33

We call our loveable but cranky pooch a 'humine' because he's only part dog, really. He's very intuitive and if you so much as sigh he will look over at you with a very concerned look on his face and sympathetic eyebrows. You can't argue around him or he'll get upset and he's a bit of a Norris off Coronation Street as he doesn't like the noise of kids playing football outside or pesky leaflets being posted through the door. Everyone he meets calls him a 'character', I think he's just a grumpy old man reincarnated into a cute little collie!
