We can’t always wake up looking as bright eyed as we’d like. From the children keeping you awake, to staying up late to watch your favourite show or checking your Facebook (or Mumsnet!) account, it can all take a toll on us come morning.

Here’s what Liz Earle say “We are proud to announce that our secret for visibly brighter eyes, NEW Superskin™ Eye Cream, has arrived. This luxuriously hydrating new innovation features a powerful botanical blend which helps to visibly lift and firm, while also reducing the appearance of dark circles and puffiness. So, what are your top tips for waking up looking bright eyed? Do you leave the iPad, laptops and phones downstairs when you go to bed? Maybe you have a no-caffeine policy after dinner? Or maybe it’s as simple as getting a good night’s sleep. Whatever secret you turn to to help you wake up feeling fresh, Liz Earle wants to know it.

Everyone who posts on the thread with their tips will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky Mumsnetter will win the complete Liz Earle Superskin™ range, worth £305*. The range includes:

Drink water throughout the day and try to get an early night :)

BelOfTheBall79 · 14/04/2016 22:09

Drink lots of water
Remove all your makeup, especially eye make up with a non abrasive cleanser
Eat well
Get good sleep
Remove contact lenses regularly
go out and get hugely drunk then come home and have another bottle of wine, go to sleep with all you make up on, leave your contacts in, rub your eyes in your sleep

Never take your mobile devices upstairs.. use a good old fashioned alarm clock if you use that as an excuse. Time to chill before bed is a must. Nice cosy PJ's,a comfy mattress & decent pillows... done

I use a night-time app on my phone to stop the brightness keeping me awake, this really helps with night-waking and getting back to sleep. In the morning I also give my eyes a gentle tap on the bones all around the eye sockets - apparently it helps to drain fluid and stop them looking puffy!

marshgirl · 15/04/2016 22:12

Stay hydrated, cleanse your skin and moisture and get plenty of sleep.

candish63 · 16/04/2016 06:13

Drinking plenty of water and getting enough sleep.

Sleepysausage · 17/04/2016 11:15

ALWAYS remove makeup before bed and moisturise. I try not to be too heavy handed with eye cream as sometimes it's can make my eyes puffy the next day.
And drink plenty of water

Cailin7 · 17/04/2016 15:16

Plenty of sleep, cut down on caffeine, drink water to hydrate and a good night cream. Note none of the above make any difference whatsoever when you have a new baby, a teething baby, sick child or a bissum of a dog!

cheryl100 · 17/04/2016 18:36

I make sure that when anything is bothering me, I write it down. This then helps me to forget about it until the morning. This works well for me when I am thinking about work and my to do list!

princesssmitheee · 18/04/2016 00:38

make sure all traces of make up are off before you go bed

Doodygirl2009 · 18/04/2016 15:34

Plenty of water and a good nights sleep when possible

chrisfc99 · 19/04/2016 09:48

Make sure that you get enough sleep. Try to go to bed and get up at the same time each day.

glmcall123 · 19/04/2016 10:40

At least eight hours of sleep and plenty of water.

12sGirl · 19/04/2016 16:36

Using a silk pillowcase means that you don't get so many creases round your eyes while sleeping, so less puffiness too.

ustupidwoman · 20/04/2016 05:03
  • always take off your make-up before you go to bed
  • go to sleep when you're tired ...don't stay up beyond it otherwise you'll end up over-tired and won't be able to sleep
  • close curtains/blinds for complete darkness
sootyo · 20/04/2016 13:26

A few drops of lavender oil on the pillow

mumpetuk1 · 20/04/2016 13:26

Drinking alcohol gives me a very bad nights sleep so I try and abstain so I get a good nights wleep

topsy73 · 20/04/2016 16:44

send my little boy to his nana and grandads for the night! ;)

Dapootz · 20/04/2016 19:58

Always fully remove eye make up or it makes eyes puffy in the morning. Don't use computer or phone in bed. Unwind with a book instead. Try and get 8 hours if you can (easier said than done, I know).

handbar · 21/04/2016 12:24

Make sure your bedroom is dark, airy and quiet so you can settle down easily.

itsali · 21/04/2016 15:27

Switch off devices an hour before bed, do some exercise in the evening and get fresh air during the day.

emily13 · 21/04/2016 15:49

Don't go on your phone last thing at night, it wakes up your mind!

emmafifema78 · 21/04/2016 17:43

Always remove your makeup before you go to bed and use a good facial moisturiser - also keep yourself hydrated with plenty of water throughout the day!

meggysar · 21/04/2016 20:13

Take some exercise. Even just a short walk will speed up the fluid drainage process and make your eyes brighter sooner.

dozza33 · 21/04/2016 21:01

I drink a glass of hot water and lemon before bed (and another one as soon as I wake up)
