Plenty of water, plenty of sleep and less caffeine!

Dencop · 10/04/2016 20:41

I try and leave my curtains open slightly, I find the light really helps me to wake up looking forward to the day, and yes agree with the removing makeup, nothing like a fright in the mirror from panda eyes in the morning

hann24 · 10/04/2016 20:55

Make sure you start winding down for bed as early as possible it helps to relax

littleme96 · 10/04/2016 21:08

Drink lots of water throughout the day, apply a night cream after a relaxing bath and try not to go to bed too late (could do with taking my own advice there!).

madge47 · 10/04/2016 21:13

sip a glass of water in the early evening

pfcpompeysarah · 10/04/2016 21:20

Eat well before going to bed, take all your makeup off with wipes or a clean flannel, drink plenty of water (no caffeine or alcohol), and have an early night.

shawbarbara · 10/04/2016 21:26

drinking lots of water or green tea and getting to bed as early as I can

arwin · 10/04/2016 21:29

No booze and drink water.

shivbrown · 10/04/2016 21:45

Eating healthy, Lots of water and 8 hours sleep and no cheese before bed :)

helly27 · 10/04/2016 21:51

Switch off technology half an hour before you go to bed so your mind can unwind and you should get a better sleep

lorlor238 · 10/04/2016 21:54

Switching off electronics at least an hour before bed. I didn't think It would make much difference but it really does!

evelynj · 10/04/2016 22:08

As soon as children put to bed, cleaned face & into pjs, programme on then early to bed with a book & pint of water, (preferably with the hat trick oshowered, clean pjs and clean sheets) :)

KittyKat88 · 10/04/2016 22:15

At my age (40s) it's really important to make time for an evening face cleanse and to moisturise properly with a decent quality 'night' cream. An early night can also help make me feel fresh and alert in the mornings!

buckley1983 · 10/04/2016 22:27

Have a long, hot bath before bed - exfoliate, body buff & moisturise. Snuggle up in clean sheets at a reasonable hour & read a little, not too much mind, before switching off the light. I think feeling good in the morning, is all about what you do the night before. The things to avoid - late nights (easier said than done, especially when the ironing pile is on the verge of collapse), alcohol & heavy meals before bed. :)

Funkyferret · 10/04/2016 23:46

Try your best to cut stress from your life. OK, I know people are in circumstances they cannot change, but take an hour out, think about what stresses you and start to think about what you can do about it - be brave!

lollydollylove · 10/04/2016 23:58

I've recently started applying an eye serum overnight before bed, it's made my eye area a lot more supple and I look more awake of a morning!

bigMo12 · 11/04/2016 08:09

Easy - fit blackout curtains in your bedrooms!

housewifedesperate · 11/04/2016 08:23

Have a really relaxing bedtime routine. Have a bath, pamper yourself and try to get an early night. I usually read to relax before I go to sleep and try to stay off any electronic device.

akbn · 11/04/2016 09:04

Plenty of water and a good amount of sleep
Ideally, make sure you've worn yourself out from the day before, that does the trick for me

Snapespeare · 11/04/2016 09:18

If I had enough money and a disregard for energy consumption, I'd have my maidservants change my bed every day and have fresh 100+ count sheets every night. Nothing makes me sleep better than fresh bedclothes. However, no maidservant, change sheets once a fortnight or so. And they're scratchy and from primark.

shroney · 11/04/2016 09:41

an early nigh tsleeping in a well ventilated room and drinking a cup of hot water and lemon on rising works for me.

notamuddle47 · 11/04/2016 09:49

For me what works best is daily exercise, plenty of water and a clear conscience. Some of those are easier than others!

insan1tyscartching · 11/04/2016 09:53

Get plenty of sleep, have your eyes tested regularly and keep well hydrated. What perks me up in the morning is a glass of hot water with a slice of lemon,Ialways drink that before my morning brew.

rbrown · 11/04/2016 10:13

GET ENOUGH SLEEP! (whenever possible..!)

We have a good bedtime routine (for the adults as well as the kids..!) of no screens, camomile tea, and in bed to relax. Lots of water, dark room, and lavender on the side.

Gosh - this thread has made me think! I know a lot of this stuff but have slipped into really bad habits recently. lot of stress has meant that I am so tired that I was falling asleep in front of the 10 o'clock news and waking up at 2 or 3 in the morning. I then went up to bed and couldn't fall asleep again! Not recommended as I have felt awful. As from today I have given up my part time job in order to spend more time with my family (special needs for all 3 of them) I am sat here with my morning drink and already feel much better! The last 2 nights I have got to bed before falling asleep and feel 100 times better.
We don't have internet on before bedtime (try an hour before) and I never drink alcohol late at night as that does send me to sleep too early. Also for me, stress and having too much to deal with has been the baddie. I'm hoping that I have relieved the pressure by giving up work - but will return to it later on when things ease.
