It’s 2016, and many of us have pledged to kick old habits or try something new. Clairol nice ‘n easy wants to know how Mumsnetters are getting on with sticking to their New Year’s resolutions.

Here’s what they say: “We’re all too familiar with the frustrations of being stuck on style repeat – whether it’s due to being busy at work, having a hectic social life or being scared of change. But little changes can make a big difference; whether that’s a new lipstick, a new accessory or a different hair shade. With nice’n easy’s wide palette of shades, there’s a shade for every woman who wants to refresh her look. Each shade delivers up to 100% grey coverage, plus natural tones and highlights, thanks to Clairol’s exclusive ColourBlend Technology. What better time to go for a change than a new year? That’s exactly the time we chose to change our models on pack. What changes did you plan for this year?”

How are your New Year’s resolutions going so far and plans? Perhaps you’re working off those Christmas mince pies by hitting the gym? Or are you trying to broaden your horizons by reading more books? Maybe you’re taking the “new year, new you” idea a little more literally, by colouring your hair or changing your wardrobe?

However you’re getting on with your resolutions, nice ‘n easy would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

Really well (no, not an euphemism for it's all gone Pear Shaped), feel a small but noticeable better (read slimmer) and a touch better disposed too. When I can't cycle to keep active, I am now walking to keep spirits up, weight down and energy and motivational levels up. Long live the new me.

YaySirNaySir · 28/01/2016 14:59

Eating better. More fish and veg mainly.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 28/01/2016 15:40

Mine is to save up, & so far its going well!

slthompson091013 · 28/01/2016 15:42

My new years resolution was to get back to my pre pregnancy weight! And so far I have lost 12lbs in 3 weeks! I am so pleased with this (apart from I need to buy some new leggings as mine are now baggy!) Still a way to go yet but I am so determined to do it this time and feel happy and confident again for myself and my children! :)

glmcall123 · 28/01/2016 16:17

I resolved not to forget any birthdays this year and I've forgotten two already!

marshgirl · 28/01/2016 17:07

To pay debts , increase my working hours and save for Christmas 2016.
Early days but trying hard.

Dianic · 28/01/2016 19:42

I resolved to continue with the 5:2 diet which I started last year a couple of months before Christmas. My general well-being and immune system improved so much, it seems daft not to continue. I now fast either 1 day or 2 days a week depending on how I'm feeling. I have decided it's more a lifestyle then a diet after all!

windowmouse · 28/01/2016 21:55

Going well! I've been on weight watchers 4 weeks and lost 6lbs. I'm going to keep it up!

vimtokid · 28/01/2016 22:04

Not too good so far. Lots of tiring days and illness so resorting to those unhealthy treats.

marylegs23 · 28/01/2016 22:06

Its not going to bad, i am managing to eat more fruit and veg during the day now just need to cut down on the sugar fixes i need, however at 5 months preggers that is easier said than done!

2016ismyyear · 28/01/2016 23:24

I resolved to drink more. I meant alcohol. I've been bloody tee total!

stewaris · 29/01/2016 09:20

Mine was to stop drinking. Managed for the first 3 weeks in January and broke it last weekend. Felt so awful the following day I'm straight back on the resolution.

meggysar · 29/01/2016 10:17

No particular resolutions made for me but I told myself that I must try and catch up with friends more and have made a start by contacting a friend I've not spoken to in ages to meet up.

Sammyislost · 29/01/2016 11:17

My plan for this year is to lose weight....well annoyingly my weighing scales were broken, so I've only just got them working, but i feel that I have lost weight already, and hoping to lose 2 stone by the end of the year. I have started to enjoy using my spin bike more often, and snacking less!

Mummystar123 · 29/01/2016 11:26

Mine are going great except the not eating so much chocate- but I'm pregnant so surely that let's me off right???
Weightless- yep due to morning sickness
Dry 2016- yup again because I'm pregnant

WordsAreWind · 29/01/2016 14:24

So far i have given up smoking, lost a few pounds and am more active. The resolutions are going great although hard work Smile

xaphan77 · 29/01/2016 16:00

I've cut right down on alcohol which im pleased with but need to do more exercise still (I blame the rubbish weather)!!

wrenfamily · 29/01/2016 16:20

ok but want to do better and increase my walking and diet

Dessallara · 29/01/2016 16:28

Already forgotten!

HALA · 29/01/2016 16:37

My new years resolution was to drink less alcohol and to do more exercise. So In January, I have tried to keep up to it - and gone walking most days. Also, I have made sure I have not drunk any alcohol on some days of the week.

el2606 · 29/01/2016 18:13

Not very well...I've already eaten lots of chocolate and cake...

leanneth · 29/01/2016 19:37

I tried to cut down on chocolate but haven't done as well as I'd hoped. It's not easy when there is a cupboard full of Christmas chocolate that overflows onto the kitchen side! I need to stop buying it!

dirtypop · 29/01/2016 20:12

really good, hammered the gym

KateOxford · 29/01/2016 21:50

Slipping up a bit. Trying to spend less money, eat more healthily, including no coffee and do more exercise. Rather than giving up when I slip up I'm trying to think of that as one day that's gone wrong rather than feeling I've messed up the whole month!

audrey1985 · 29/01/2016 22:05

I want to make more conscious efforts to buy organic food as I believe this is the best way forward, this is the most natural way to make food, healthier and greener.
