It’s 2016, and many of us have pledged to kick old habits or try something new. Clairol nice ‘n easy wants to know how Mumsnetters are getting on with sticking to their New Year’s resolutions.

Here’s what they say: “We’re all too familiar with the frustrations of being stuck on style repeat – whether it’s due to being busy at work, having a hectic social life or being scared of change. But little changes can make a big difference; whether that’s a new lipstick, a new accessory or a different hair shade. With nice’n easy’s wide palette of shades, there’s a shade for every woman who wants to refresh her look. Each shade delivers up to 100% grey coverage, plus natural tones and highlights, thanks to Clairol’s exclusive ColourBlend Technology. What better time to go for a change than a new year? That’s exactly the time we chose to change our models on pack. What changes did you plan for this year?”

How are your New Year’s resolutions going so far and plans? Perhaps you’re working off those Christmas mince pies by hitting the gym? Or are you trying to broaden your horizons by reading more books? Maybe you’re taking the “new year, new you” idea a little more literally, by colouring your hair or changing your wardrobe?

However you’re getting on with your resolutions, nice ‘n easy would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

Cutting down on red wine - yes, getting more exercise - a little bit, spending less time on computer - not working!

My aim is to get fit, so have been visiting the gym at the weekends, eating better and walking further at lunchtime at work. Small changes that have made some difference so far.

Er..not as well as I hoped. Hard to stick to a resolution, when it's cold and dark outside, you just crave comfort food isn't? Wink

I am trying to to stress so much , particularly over little things as I do and make myself ill! So far, I've been trying really hard and given myself a mental slap anytime I start to fret!

I wanted to make more time for myself and my friends, and so far have managed to see them twice a week, instead of the usual once a month :-)

I don't make New Year resolutions. I make changes when I see they are needed & I think that makes it easier to stick to, rather than a pledge just because it is the beginning of the new year

still going strong so far

I didn't make any so nothing to break or not keep up! I did start in November to eat healthier and exercise 2 - 3 times a week and am still continuing on this. Also cut down on coffee.

My resolution to get more exercise is not going too well at the moment. It has been awful weather so I've stayed in all cosy and warm rather than go for a daily walk ! When the weather gets better though I'll try again :)

Well, it's kinda halted at the minute due to freezing weather I don't wanna go out and jog. Roll on spring!

My Resolutions are going BRILLIANTLY! I've just completed 21 Day Fix on Sunday and lost 8.2 lbs. Yesterday I just started 21 Day Fix EXTREME as I'd like to lose another 20 lbs! I haven't had any chocolate, alcohol, sweets, biscuits, cakes, sugar, or anything unhealthy since the 27th of December and am feeling so much better for it! Looking forward to the warmer weather so I can enjoy wearing my skirts and dresses knowing how hard I worked for it during the winter months.

I wanted to eat healthier but that's not happened yet, too much chocolate left over from Christmas and if I have chocolate in the house then my lack of will power means I eat it.

I had a few (I love making resolutions)
The ones that are going ok are eating better. I revised that to eating my 5 portions of fruit and veg a day.
My other main one was to cut down on internet time and read instead. The aim is to read 25 books this year.
It could be better. I have almost finished 1 book and er should be switching off here any moment now...

My New Years Resolution was to get a better job, and tomorrow I have my second interview for hopefully the very thing - so overall my resolution is going pretty well so far! (Touch Wood!)
