Ahead of the festive season the Lidl team at #SchoolofChristmas would love to hear your top tips for tipples at Christmas (either on the day, at a party or for friend/ relations visits etc).

Do you make a mean cocktail? Get the advocat out or create fun mocktails for the drivers? How about special twists on coffees or a warming hot chocolate after a long walk with family?

I make pretty ice cubes in festive colours and with a leaf or berry frozen inside. Coloured crushed ice looks great too. Kids love that layered in their drink!

I make a cocktail called a deep thinker - its very strong but very delicious and totally unusual. I will probably make this for our new years party this year.

I mix up the ingredients and pop into a large punch bowl with a load of ice - let the ice melt a little first as the first glass or two are very strong!

Flavoured coffees for Christmas morning for me and my husband.
Christmas eve tradition is children's afternoon mass then hot chocolate and cream and marshmallows

We make virgin mojitos with ginger ale, lime juice, sugar and crushed mint leaves - my favourite! My kids love a tropical mocktail made with San Pellegrino limonata, coconut milk, grenadine and frozen blueberries. For the younger ones, we just set out a lot of different juices and sparkling water and let them mix it up however they like, with bits of sliced fruit on the side to add as they wish.

I make a mean mojito if we have friends round, although having just developed a taste for a pornstar martini - I may have to try that too.

If my parents are round it tends to be prosecco and cups of tea all round

I keep a vat mulled wine in the slow cooker through the season- sugar, brandy, oranges, lemons, cloves, cinnamon, star anise, and red wine. Smells divine and keeps on warm for around three days!

French martinis are our house favourite. DP makes them on Xmas morning as part of our Xmas breakfast. (Pigs in blankets heavily featured.)

Neither dh or I really drink, but I love a mockijto (sparkling water, lime, mint leaves) or we do mulled apple juice in the slow cooker.

Hot chocolate with Baileys - mmm... Hot winter berries posh squash makes a good non-alcoholic alternative to mulled wine

Easy hot chocolate - 1 square of dairy milk and a cup of milk, warm in microwave - delicious.

Christmas mocktail - 250 ml cranberry juice, 250ml carton pineapple juice, 250ml apple juice and ice, serves 3.

I make coffee icecubes to pop into baileys or lidls version of baileys or anything else you'd like coffee flavoured.

I also love amaretto or brandy in hot milk with a spoonful of honey and some mixed spice.

A Sloegasm. Sloe gin (homemade) topped up with Prosecco or Champagne.
It's delicious and very festive.

Lidl's hot chocolate is the nicest I have tasted. (It comes in a purple jar, but I can't recall the name.) A big hat topped with marshmallows on Christmas eve, snuggled up in new PJs (me and the DCs) is heaven.

A big hat? A big mug of that...

Got to be classic champagne cocktail in this house at Christmas. Brown sugar cube soaked in angostura bitters in a flute, add brandy to the top of the sugar cube, top up with champagne. Mmmmmm.

Brandy in coffee or hot chocolate.
Tia Maria, vodka and Coke.
Buck's Fizz on Christmas morning.
And homemade sloe gin and blackberry brandy. Mmmmmmmmmm

Mulled home made cider!

Cider heated with a very generous slug of rum, sugar to taste and served with thin slices apples dusted with cinnamon - lovely and warming

Kir royale for us using nice champagne from lidl with creme de cassis. Yum

my grandad always made me advocat with lemonade when i was a child and i used to love it. These days i prefer a Baileys with ice! I have fond memories of my lovely Nan and grandad.

Prosecco or a Sloe gin Royal always go down well!

We don't drink alcohol - going thru a phase of posh sparkling elderflower/ rose lemonade/ etc - it is really nice to have a posh bottle of something despite not being alcoholic. I admit I miss Baileys, and flavoured hot chocolates can be variable. Last year I made/assembled jars of my own - mixed cocoa and drinking chocolate, sugar, cinnamon and grated orange chocolate. Mmmm.

I big jug filled with Jeeves, mixed with whatever brandy is left over from feeding the Christmas cake, cloudy apple juice, cinnamon sticks, and sliced apple and orange. Can serve it warm, but I prefer it cold with ice! It's a lovely not-too-alcoholic Christmas drink. Depending on how much brandy you put in!

Slow cooker hot chocolate with rum and double cream and nutella

The DC always have sparkly Shloer in wine glasses at Christmas dinner - the inlaws always bring all the wine down with them for their Christmas visit, and bring a bottle of Shloer for the DC as well.

Chocolate orange vodka here is the drink of choice.
