Thirty-five years since his first appearance, the Milk Tray Man is back and is being re-imagined for the 21st century. Cadbury are keen to hear from Mumsnetters about who they think best represents the modern Milk Tray Man (or woman!).

Cadbury say “The Milk Tray man is back and he’ll be daring but caring, thoughtful yet thrill-seeking - and he’ll go to any lengths to deliver a box of Milk Tray to a loved one.”

What traits do you think the modern Milk Tray Man or woman should have, and who do you think best embodies these qualities? Your favourite actor, dressed to thrill in a smart black polo neck and grappling hooks Grin. Your best friend, who’s helped you through some tough times? Maybe your partner has all the key qualities?

Whomever you think represents the modern Milk Tray Man, Cadbury would love to hear about it.

Everyone who adds a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £200 Experience Day Gift Card for you and your loved one(s).*

Find out more about the search for the new Milk Tray man here :

You can make your own nomination over here and don't forget to tell us on this thread too.

Thanks

Channing Tatum can climb through my window with a box of chocolates anytime! (although he may want to wait for DH to be out)

HeySoulSister · 23/10/2015 18:29

Daryl from the walking dead would do! Or Peter Kay!

Signoritawhocansway · 23/10/2015 18:34

My lovely D, who is incredibly supportive with me, our ds and my frail elderly parents and disabled brother. I don't need grand gestures, and love him for his constant thoughtfulness and unfailing support.

HeySoulSister · 23/10/2015 19:37

Actually, a heroine of mine is Kathrine Switzer. So her. In her running gear. I'd love to say hi to her and thank her for what she did for women's running! ( 1967, masqueraded as a man to run Boston marathon as women were prohibited from running)

bulldozerJo · 23/10/2015 19:37

Mmmmm its got to be Alexander Skarsgard

ButterflyOfFreedom · 23/10/2015 19:52

I'd go down the comical, spoof line and have Peter Key dressed in black, polo neck, (half eaten) box of chocs under his arm...

Although Matt Damon in the buff would also work! Wink

gazzalw · 23/10/2015 19:56

Idris Elba!

homeeconomics · 23/10/2015 21:17

I would have Alan Carr as he could also cracking open the bubbly and have a chat and a laugh.

spanky2 · 23/10/2015 21:20

I find the whole idea anachronistic. I think it's some ad man's wet dream. Who wants some creep breaking into your bedroom to leave chocolate ? I wouldn't eat them, rohypnol anyone?
Think of something more appropriate and new.

TurningThirty · 23/10/2015 21:34

Tom Hiddleston without a doubt.

CombineBananaFister · 23/10/2015 21:55

Yeah, I think it needs to move on too - no buff, slimy hero. Either do away with altogether and new tagline that you don't need to wait for Mr Milktray man because we are capable of buying our own now if we want to. Or it has to be lots of ordinary men who mean something to the giver - son to mum, patient to nurse, etc. Mine would be my little boy Smile

CheeseEMouse · 23/10/2015 22:41

Hopefully the new milk tray man will not encompass the delivery prowess of my local Hermes delivery man, whereby my last parcel was left in the bin.... Will the new milk tray man be trackable with a consignment number or does he operate a one hour service like Amazon Prime? I don't fancy him breaking in.

pandapop35 · 23/10/2015 23:24

He would clean the house , cook the dinner then in the evening, wine , movie and a box of milk tray!

FastWindow · 24/10/2015 04:17

Colin Farrell could knock on the door politely and offer me Cadbury. I'd send him down the shop for Galaxy, since Kraft made Cadbury horrible. And no more chocolate coins. Probably a good thing.

EasterRobin · 24/10/2015 06:10

I agree the breaking in thing seems a bit creepy nowadays. Could he not just post a note saying "sorry you were out. I've left a parcel with your next door neighbour."

(This might be why I don't work in advertising)

Scoobydoo8 · 24/10/2015 06:38

Bit dated surely - who wants cheap chocs when they are concerned about their weight. I only like best quality choc covered nuts!

Probably people only buy them as a thank you for teacher or for dinner at someone's house or something (not mine hopefully) so a catchy or jokey ad rather than glam ad might do better.

jeniferlack · 24/10/2015 06:54

Tom Hardy, he's good looking and swarve in an unconventional way...I wouldn't mind him breaking in to surprise me with Milk Tray! :)

jt75 · 24/10/2015 07:11

Anneka Rice

ThemisA · 24/10/2015 07:14

Tom Hardy looks good in a suit and I do like a suave look

mave · 24/10/2015 07:46

The gorgeous Alijaz from strictly!

glenka · 24/10/2015 07:52

My dad because he is my hero.

3children2love · 24/10/2015 07:56

Henry Cavill

inspiron42 · 24/10/2015 07:58

I think the idea of the Milk Tray man is outdated.

Loveleopardprint · 24/10/2015 08:00

I think they would be better going for a random act of kindness. Milk tray are affordable if you just want to make someone smile. A lot of women are going to be offended by this add. It so very 1970's whatever they do to it.

christinelucey · 24/10/2015 08:02

My Milk Tray man would by my partner who buys me a love box of Milk Tray just because he loves me and knows they are my favourite choclates
