Also, milk tray are not luxury, there are an affordable treat. Slightly classier than quality street, but not massively so.

Advertising needs to reflect that or else it will just be bullshit. If you are clinging to the 70s milk tray man and 'all because' then it will have to be ironic.

I'd totally forgotten this, and the creepy breaking in vibe.

When I read the title, I thought about a modern man doing something romantic, and it's definitely DH making me a cup of tea everyday for me!

He has been known to make a special trip to the shops for chocolate for me though, so maybe that's the (non-creepy) way that Cadbury's should try spinning it?

Modern MilkTray Man could only be James Bond i.e. Daniel Craig..now if he appeared in my window with chocs I would be over the moon

i think the Milk Tray man needs to be a bit modern too - maybe he could break into my home, put up some shelves, run the vac round and then leave a box of milk tray! haha.

My dd2 (18) is the modern Milk Tray man. She lives pretty much entirely in black skinnies, a black jumper and Converse so is already dressed for the part. She's v androgynous and would update Milk Tray man's style with her quiff and guitar.

Yes, that's prob the way they should go - all the music and drama then a little boy/girl giving chocs to teacher, or nurse, or elderly lady to her neighbor or gardener, or work colleagues to boss etc etc

I think the modern day Milk Tray Man would be someone like Idris Elba - a beautiful strong man that knows how important women are because he has been raised properly by his mother!!!! xxxx
