Thirty-five years since his first appearance, the Milk Tray Man is back and is being re-imagined for the 21st century. Cadbury are keen to hear from Mumsnetters about who they think best represents the modern Milk Tray Man (or woman!).

Cadbury say “The Milk Tray man is back and he’ll be daring but caring, thoughtful yet thrill-seeking - and he’ll go to any lengths to deliver a box of Milk Tray to a loved one.”

What traits do you think the modern Milk Tray Man or woman should have, and who do you think best embodies these qualities? Your favourite actor, dressed to thrill in a smart black polo neck and grappling hooks Grin. Your best friend, who’s helped you through some tough times? Maybe your partner has all the key qualities?

Whomever you think represents the modern Milk Tray Man, Cadbury would love to hear about it.

Everyone who adds a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £200 Experience Day Gift Card for you and your loved one(s).*

Find out more about the search for the new Milk Tray man here :

You can make your own nomination over here and don't forget to tell us on this thread too.

Thanks

John Hamm, he's dishy & he'll need something to do now Mad Men is over

liamell · 24/10/2015 08:13

For me it would be David Beckham, when i watched his documentry I was struck by how much of a wonderful man he is both inside and out. And could you imagine those pants swinging through the window? I could ;)

WarmHugs · 24/10/2015 08:14

Prince Harry would be the ideal replacement. He seems like a nice, funny guy!

maryandbuzz1 · 24/10/2015 08:18

Would have to be TOM Daley

kellyjane37 · 24/10/2015 08:50

bear from x on the beach!

claireblaney123 · 24/10/2015 08:52

I would say Ian sommerhalder

shawbarbara · 24/10/2015 08:53

I would pick Alan Carr as he could make me laugh and humour me - chocolates to eat as well - yummy

Pleco · 24/10/2015 09:10

Helen Skelton

campocaro · 24/10/2015 09:22

Claire Balding would be my Milk Tray woman. Strong ,capable, caring and curvacious!

janeyf1 · 24/10/2015 09:25

Jamie Dornan would be welcome

SouthWesterlyWinds · 24/10/2015 09:25

I think it needs to be the unlikely hero for the modern milk tray man. The unassuming man in modern day life who, if push comes to shove, is capable of rescuing others. Not as in fixing your printer type of guy (nerd type) but the quiet unassuming reliable one who will chat away to you as a friend bum it can swiftly catch you if you trip over. A dark knight.

jools401 · 24/10/2015 09:27

I don't think you'll ever get him to do an advert but Prince Harry would be perfect

muppet1501 · 24/10/2015 09:30

If it was a woman i think Halle Berry would be fab. For a man i think less serious and would choose Jimmy Carr. He'd probably be the least serious person and couldnt stop himself laughing (and that laugh is contagious, top quality!!)

hiddenmichelle · 24/10/2015 09:41

Daniel Craig

lizd31 · 24/10/2015 09:45

the gorgeous Channing Tatum

edoody · 24/10/2015 09:49

Love a man that can make me laugh so I choose David Walliams - attractive, funny & makes me smile!

theredjellybean · 24/10/2015 10:01

boris johnson....so funny, he'd get stuck half way, i'd have to rescue him, he would share chocolates with me and we could have a jolly giggle about it all.

BellaVida · 24/10/2015 10:01

Rowan Atkinson as Johnny English. A hapless, but well-intentioned man with a strong moral compass and a sense of humour. A kind of amazing 'have a go hero' you hear about occasionally.
He would swoop in and deliver Milk Tray to anyone who needed or deserved it, not just the love of his life- someone who has just run a marathon for charity, a stressed parent struggling to juggle a job and family who finally sits down at the end of a tough day, a child who overcomes a disability, a person who witnesses an accident and stops to help.
You get the idea- uplifting Milk Tray 'moments' for the 21st century.

happysouls · 24/10/2015 10:03

I think a Milk Tray couple...David and Victoria Beckham! They've got the look, the style and the romance!

EmNix · 24/10/2015 10:04

Its a bit outdated. I would suggest milk tray lady. Carol from the walking dead. Her character has a lot of gusto!

SouthWesterlyWinds · 24/10/2015 10:07

Had another thought. Why not make it a cartoon type dairy milk man. Danger mouse would be great. Or even Penfold.

But NEVER Keith Lemon. That would be wrong and an affront to humanity.

devito92 · 24/10/2015 10:10

Brear Grylls

funkyfish586 · 24/10/2015 10:12

Bradley Cooper!!! He looks like a perfect gent & is drop dead gorgeous

Laineyflo · 24/10/2015 10:15

Bear Grylls..it'd make for a pretty exciting advert!

bletheringboys · 24/10/2015 10:35

I would say an ordinary person who has to do the extraordinary every day - I.e,most parents. Milk tray picked up at the shops for a pal in hospital, basically lumped beside every single other task that has to be done for the day. Let's face it, most of us perform superhuman stuff when there's kids and real life involved.
