Cadbury’s Marvellous Smashables have asked us to find out how you get the whole family together for a cosy night in.

Here’s what they say, "New Cadbury’s Marvellous Smashables are a fun way for all the family to get involved, so we’d love to hear from Mumsnetters about how they encourage the whole family to enjoy a family night in."

So, what do you do to ensure your busy family spends time together? Do you make sure everyone's favourite meal - or dessert - is on the menu? Perhaps there's a TV show that's guaranteed to gather you all in one place? Or do you use more direct tactics like bribery?! Maybe you cut off supply to the wifi or have made the lounge or kitchen an irresistably cosy place to congregate?

My DCs are infant school attendees so any bedtime past 7:30 is a treat. We get the children into PJs early, order a curry and watch countless reruns of You've Been Framed.

The only way to stop my family all going off to do their own thing is to play a board game. Cluedo is a big hit in my house, and a guaranteed few hours away from all screens which has got to be good.

It's all about a TV show everyone can laugh at, or a movie no-one's seen. Big Bang Theory is the go to show, with loads of snacks and everyone in their spot of course :)

Dinner and then usually a football match so we call cheer, or a family film we can all enjoy.

We have a dinner and film night once a week. One week dd chooses the film, and DS picks the dinner/takeaway, and the other way around the week after. It works well.

We keep it simple.. we'll have a dinner we all like (normally spag bol) and then watch a few movies together all cuddled up on the sofa with some chocolate (Cadbury's of course)!
People on the outside might not think it's anything special, but I treasure every single memory.

Our friends have a static caravan that they let us use one weekend a month. We always have a treat weekend there meaning lots of sweeties and Cadburys chocolate. There is no wifi or sky so we all sit around and do a jigsaw. We do a big 1000 piece one so it can take the weekend. It's great family time because we all chat while doing it. After we will pull out the bed settee and snuggle up together, turn off all the lights and watch a movie. The perfect weekend, with lots of family time made perfect with lots of Cadburys chocolate xx

We settle down to a family Saturday evening by getting a new DVD to watch, turning all the lights off in the house, putting the fire on in the front room (which makes the room really cosy) and allowing the kids to have special treats (toffee popcorn and lemonade is a favourite). No phones allowed!

I someimes wonder if we should install a glitterball in our kitchen, as so often on a Friday night as we're preparing and finishing dinner we end up with a virual dance floor in our kitchen. We pump the music up loud, sing along and shake our stuff.

Please don't tell my boys, but i knock the internet switch slightly out of the wall and blame the provider for it going down for a while. I then pull out the upstairs light fuse so their bedrooms are pitch black and they all end up congregating down stairs and mommy gets some time to spend watching a film, playing a board game or our favourite a family game of cards around the kitchen table.

We have a home made pizza, with ice cream for afters, kids get into their snuggly onesies, adults too, and we watch a favourite DVD, and if it's a scary one, we each have our own pillow to hide behind! :)

As the children have got older the good old 'talent' programmes are great for us to sit and watch together, to laugh and debate and have a few Cadbury treats too of course.
