Cadbury’s Marvellous Smashables have asked us to find out how you get the whole family together for a cosy night in.

Here’s what they say, "New Cadbury’s Marvellous Smashables are a fun way for all the family to get involved, so we’d love to hear from Mumsnetters about how they encourage the whole family to enjoy a family night in."

So, what do you do to ensure your busy family spends time together? Do you make sure everyone's favourite meal - or dessert - is on the menu? Perhaps there's a TV show that's guaranteed to gather you all in one place? Or do you use more direct tactics like bribery?! Maybe you cut off supply to the wifi or have made the lounge or kitchen an irresistably cosy place to congregate?

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £200 Love2Shop voucher!

Thanks

Ours is pizza night followed by snuggling in the living room and watching a family film with popcorn and other yummy snacks. Once we all had a sleepover afterwards on the living room floor which the kids thought was great! Mummy and Daddy didn't get much sleep that night!

Apart from dinner together and a couple of hours of TV my family tend to go off and do their own things ie hobbies etc.

Happyjad · 12/10/2015 21:46

After dinner, we all watch tv with a few snack and sometimes at the weekend we all play board games together!

alsproject · 12/10/2015 21:46

we have a family games night where we all sit down together and play board games

compy99 · 12/10/2015 22:16

we love to have a nice sit-down meal together then just sit and chat, it is a great time for just communicating and enjoying each other's company. we usually have music on instead of TV.

Homemade pizzas followed by popcorn and a movie selected by our daughter.

LizB62 · 12/10/2015 22:21

Chinese takeaway or pizza, then watching a film (his choice) on the sofa in our pyjamas under a duvet
Bliss :-)

pennwood · 12/10/2015 22:37

Movie night with chocolate treats is favourite & enjoyed by all

Themilseys · 12/10/2015 22:55

We eat most of our evening meals together but Saturday nights we always eat a socialable meal together - we make wraps, have a buffet dinner or a take away. Then we sit on the sofa together and watch TV snuggled up. Bliss!

lhlee62 · 12/10/2015 23:13

Pizza and chocolate gets everyone gathered together

wingobins · 12/10/2015 23:49

It's amazing how the family come together when the wifi is off! So at least once a week there is an 'accidental' power cut on the wifi and then I get a movie out and some goodies! Bliss!

samosh22 · 13/10/2015 00:46

board games

Lizp81 · 13/10/2015 03:23

Every evening after the hubby gets one from work and the kids are home from school I have a meal prepared that I know everyone enjoys and we all sit down together in front of the TV on something we all agree on to watch so everyone is happy xSmile

sarahsnail · 13/10/2015 05:54

Movie night, pizza, chocolate and crisps and we all bring the duvets downstairs and snuggle under them. Only problem we have is deciding on a film. Smile

Bellroyd · 13/10/2015 05:57

We all tend to do our own thing online, but in front of the telly with conversation occasionally breaking out!

pusinky · 13/10/2015 06:31

The family favourite lasagne for dinner and then watching the Incredibles on the sofa.

Sellins · 13/10/2015 08:51

We love to get the family round and play board games

scabbycat · 13/10/2015 09:41

We're big fans of hygge, and for our family it depends on the time of the year as to how we share a night in. During the summer it meant a nice chilled BBQ or salad in the garden, chatting and enjoying the evening sun. During the winter it means dinner followed by a blanket on the sofa or board games with low lighting and candles and the fire if its really cold outside.

helly27 · 13/10/2015 10:18

A bowl of popcorn some sharing sweets and a movie, we draw the curtains arrange the couch like a cinema row and enjoy.

Marty673 · 13/10/2015 10:37

Family night's in usually involve pyjamas on, lots of toys and games, a variety of snacks and a kids movie Smile
