In association with Mini Milk, we've developed a Summer Fun Generator to give you some inspiration for activities to do with your DCs over the summer holidays. Mini Milk would love for you to give it a try, and let us know what you think of the activities.

Mini Milk say "As we head towards the end of the summer holidays, maybe you're struggling to find fun activities to keep your DCs entertained. Try our Summer Fun Generator for some inspiration, and let us know what you think of the activities."

Head to www.mumsnet.com/fun-generator to give it a try

So, what did you think of the activities on the Summer Fun Generator? Did you choose rainy or sunny day activities? Which of the generated activities looks like the most fun? Are you going to try out any of the activities with your DCs? If so, which ones?

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will receive a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Please note your comments may be included on Mini Milk's social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

I love museum trips, as can usually make these last most of the day with a nice packed lunch.

I looked at the rainy days and sunny days and was a little disappointed. I was expecting it to generate one thing to do not a boring standard list format. I'd have to go out and purchase items in order to do 5 out of the 6 activities suggested. I'd find it more beneficial if I could filter it via age and items required.

I love this app. Some simple ideas but ones I'd never thought of. First one I'm going to do is the painting the house with water. My little boy would love that. Will definitely be making use of this app lots. Thanks.

Some great ideas

I really liked some of the rainy day activities. This hs given me some new ideas to try out and not all crafts, which is a nice change.

I'm very impressed with water wall :)

HelenSw4les · 05/09/2015 21:13

I like the idea but the ideas were limiting, in that there were only three for each. I'd only use this if I was lacking inspiration on a particular day but three choices does not give me much inspiration I'm afraid, sorry.

Some good ideas

Though the fun generator was a great idea. Really liked the lucky dip idea so today we tried it, had a game of frozen dominoes, followed by paper plate puppet head painting and then finally a set of 4 20 piece puzzles to be done before the time run out. Great fun had by all and made so exciting by the fact you had to pull the idea out of bag.

A few good ideas but definitely not enough rainy day ideas for our British summer. Something I would not look at that often to be honest.

Princessxo · 05/09/2015 23:27

There wasn't anything unique here, kind of disappointed as I was expecting something original maybe.

VickyRsuperstar · 05/09/2015 23:29

It's really good and I really wish I'd seen it a lot earlier! The ideas are great! I hope it stays on site so I can refer to it each weekend and half term if I'm stuck for things to do.

great to have sunny or rainy suggestions, as I'm sometimes stumped when the weather affects decisions on what to do.

We had the rainy day generator ~ bake a cake. We made some scones today. Sadly they didn't rise too well, but tasted lovely all the same SmileCake

I love the rainy day activities! We'll be using that in Scotland a lot!!

purpleclaire · 07/09/2015 11:04

We tried the photo session on a rainy day - made a change from watching DVDs and painting. We dug out old dressing up clothes, Xmas production outfits and a few hats and scarves of mine. My two (3 & 7) had lots of fun trying out their different outfits as well as posing for photos.
