In association with Mini Milk, we've developed a Summer Fun Generator to give you some inspiration for activities to do with your DCs over the summer holidays. Mini Milk would love for you to give it a try, and let us know what you think of the activities.

Mini Milk say "As we head towards the end of the summer holidays, maybe you're struggling to find fun activities to keep your DCs entertained. Try our Summer Fun Generator for some inspiration, and let us know what you think of the activities."

Head to www.mumsnet.com/fun-generator to give it a try

So, what did you think of the activities on the Summer Fun Generator? Did you choose rainy or sunny day activities? Which of the generated activities looks like the most fun? Are you going to try out any of the activities with your DCs? If so, which ones?

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will receive a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Please note your comments may be included on Mini Milk's social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

the waterfall was a brilliant idea and mine would love trying to make that

Maclairey · 03/09/2015 12:13

It's a good idea but very age dependent. My 2.5 year old has a very short attention span but would no doubt love the sweet shop idea provided there were real chocolate buttons involved!

Lots of low cost free ideas and very inspirational! Treasure hunt sounds exciting and walks! Think a lot could be added to the list but a great selection!!

Happyjad · 03/09/2015 12:40

Well what a great selection of low cost and free ideas - like the idea of an obstacle course or perhaps a customized treasure hunt. Like the suggestions which tell you how to do the activities and we get plenty of rainy days in England!

Great idea, I picked rainy day though as it has been a while since it has been sunny here!! Very simple ideas that area easy to do and keep things fun and entertaining for the kids.

Some great ideas, especially for 'rainy days'... the major museum's are great.

Rainy day and a trip to the library - we were going anyway - great minds think alike!

baby890 · 03/09/2015 13:10

keshimonster · 03/09/2015 13:11

This is brilliant! So many ideas! Really pleased with this! :)

I like it, it came up with some of the same ideas I had given to my son recently to try out with his family. I feel like I am full of ideas but he has to 'want' to put the effort into doing them. One of the rainy day suggestions that came up was an obstacle course! This is one of the things I spent ages telling him about a few weeks ago! I had loads of differnt ideas for indoor or outdoor ones, getting the kids involved in setting them up and how they could be added to or altered! They could have physical challenges or puzzles to do along the way! Me and my little sis used to make things like this for ourselves when we were kids, great fun!

pennwood · 03/09/2015 13:56

Sunny Days: Farm Date - Great for little ones to explore & learn :)

mynellie · 03/09/2015 15:40

the rainy day tie dye idea is great it reminded me of when we did that at school and has encouraged me to try it out

devito92 · 03/09/2015 15:50

Treasure Hunts are always good fun and appeal to all ages

rachelmi · 03/09/2015 15:58

Some fabulous ideas come rain or shine

tiddles12 · 03/09/2015 16:14

some very simple and good ideas. Love articles like these with ideas for play

cluckyhen · 03/09/2015 16:46

Wow - what a fab idea. I often get stuck when we've made sunny day plans and then we wake up to rain! I love that it gives you a choice of 3 and that many are low cost

BizziLiz · 03/09/2015 17:14

A good spread of ideas - I particularly liked the 'lucky dip' for them to choose their own activities.

balloon66 · 03/09/2015 17:21

I found a few new ideas. I like the 'rainy' 'sunny' sections

fazkin · 03/09/2015 17:52

We've tried all the rainy day suggestions. They love making a mess and doing junk modelling or spend hours inside boxes

jcyclops · 03/09/2015 18:11

Some great ideas come up, and I like that many can be done both alone or in large groups. I have saved the link and will definitely give it a try.

toodles60 · 03/09/2015 18:43

I love the photo idea. Not something i've thought of before getting them to dress up etc and have a photo shoot. Very good idea that i'll use in future.
