In association with Mini Milk, we've developed a Summer Fun Generator to give you some inspiration for activities to do with your DCs over the summer holidays. Mini Milk would love for you to give it a try, and let us know what you think of the activities.

Mini Milk say "As we head towards the end of the summer holidays, maybe you're struggling to find fun activities to keep your DCs entertained. Try our Summer Fun Generator for some inspiration, and let us know what you think of the activities."

Head to www.mumsnet.com/fun-generator to give it a try

So, what did you think of the activities on the Summer Fun Generator? Did you choose rainy or sunny day activities? Which of the generated activities looks like the most fun? Are you going to try out any of the activities with your DCs? If so, which ones?

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will receive a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Please note your comments may be included on Mini Milk's social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

Rainy day - I often do the indoor assault course, but the raisins in a bottle was new - I could imagine that being good

createbeauty · 03/09/2015 08:27

The activities are okay. But the rainy day ones you need stuff that we don't have casually laying around ... like wallpaper....

adorabelle13 · 03/09/2015 08:35

I really like the look of the rainy day activities as I am always trying to find activities to do with my little girl.

diannehanson · 03/09/2015 08:52

Some great original ideas I hadn't thought of before. Chloe loves the set up a shop idea so we'll be trying that one this week! :)

tompob · 03/09/2015 08:53

looks like good fun the obstacle course and colour walk...some great ideas

happymouffetard · 03/09/2015 08:54

I love the idea of the LO weighing out pasta etc on a rainy day. It's not something I would have got him to do, but we'll give it a go. Pasta's easy enough to pick up if it ends up on the floor.

Setting up a sweet shop was such a hit

sweetsomethings · 03/09/2015 09:08

Some great ideas there that dont cause alot of money

prwilson · 03/09/2015 09:18

Some interesting ideas, good variety, not too costly.

suzyq50 · 03/09/2015 09:23

Rainy day suggestions are always welcome as I don't want the children stuck in front of a screen of some description all day.

Ideas I knew about already, treasure hunt is always popular. Keep the ideas coming.

pixies13 · 03/09/2015 09:25

some brilliant ideas for when we had bad weather, kids were quite impressed with the different activities

janeyf1 · 03/09/2015 09:31

It was ok - some of the activities wouldn't pass much time but at least they do not involve great expenditure. Very simple

finleypop · 03/09/2015 09:59

Gives some good ideas, I think it is pretty useful

penka · 03/09/2015 10:03

Lots of nice, simple ideas. Some of the activities are new to us and we will definitely be giving them a go.

LuckyBluie · 03/09/2015 10:07

I just had a look at both types of weather activities - thought they were all really good Smile

I like the look of "Which way to walk?", looks like fun!

lizd31 · 03/09/2015 10:16

Love the sunny day activities. Farm visits always go down well as Olivia is animal mad

nettymay · 03/09/2015 10:37

A really good mix of activities for all weathers and not too expensive

fruitgum94 · 03/09/2015 10:40

Loved it, some brilliant ideas on there i just wish i'd found it earlier in the holidays :)

ElectroNymph · 03/09/2015 10:49

I thought it was nice enough but pretty basic. I'm sure some parents would pick up a few useful tips.

sofieellis · 03/09/2015 10:53

Treasure hunts and theme days are always great fun. We tend to go to a museum, then choose a theme for another day based on what we've seen.
It's a great idea to have a source of iideas like this to work from.

FlukeSkyeRunner · 03/09/2015 11:01

Some good ideas.

myusername12345 · 03/09/2015 11:04

The lucky dip idea is good as it gives the kids a bit more of a role in choosing what to do and just getting on with it!
Very helpful to have the rainy days ideas in this blimmin' country!

sandy31 · 03/09/2015 11:13

Tried a few mainly the rainy day as we have not had much luck with the weather. Daughter likes anything crafty so had great fun.

BellaWella86 · 03/09/2015 11:14

I love this idea! Really simple (and cost effective, if not free) ideas to keep the kids entertained. We've had quite a few bad weather days this summer and I've struggled to think of ideas to keep the children entertained. I think sometimes we forget that kids love simple things like the scavenger hunt suggested. I'm just sad I didn't find this before my eldest started back at school.

dorsetsgem · 03/09/2015 11:42

i love the idea of the wallpaper racing track. can just roll it up and store away easily
