In association with Mini Milk, we've developed a Summer Fun Generator to give you some inspiration for activities to do with your DCs over the summer holidays. Mini Milk would love for you to give it a try, and let us know what you think of the activities.

Mini Milk say "As we head towards the end of the summer holidays, maybe you're struggling to find fun activities to keep your DCs entertained. Try our Summer Fun Generator for some inspiration, and let us know what you think of the activities."

Head to www.mumsnet.com/fun-generator to give it a try

So, what did you think of the activities on the Summer Fun Generator? Did you choose rainy or sunny day activities? Which of the generated activities looks like the most fun? Are you going to try out any of the activities with your DCs? If so, which ones?

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will receive a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Please note your comments may be included on Mini Milk's social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

Some really nice ideas for cheap activities to enjoy with the little one! It's going to be the rainy day ones for us this week I think, alas! At least now we have some activities to focus on to stop the boredom setting in. I particularly liked the racing track idea & heading off to our local (free!) museum! Thumbs up :)

melmoo · 03/09/2015 23:44

Good concept. Coud do with more choices/categories leading to ideas though. For example being able to choose craft based or not for indoors.

tinkertink2010 · 04/09/2015 01:10

I like the low cost ones! I think we will be having more of the rainy day ones coming up!

goose1964 · 04/09/2015 08:09

gave me some ideas that I would not have though of

southernsun · 04/09/2015 10:00

What a great idea!!!

Managed to fill an afternoon with a bit of junk modelling and homemade pizzas. Little ones had great fun (as did mummy and daddy) and there are so many things on there which we wouldn't think about doing with a spare few hours. Will be bookmarking it for future!

kel1981 · 04/09/2015 10:42

I used the rainy day one as I always struggle for ideas. I found it very helpful and liked that it gave you a time scale for how long it would keep the kids occupied for!

Quills · 04/09/2015 11:02

Really great ideas - I love the rainy days ones, as I have trouble with my back and can't always get out of the house, so these are brilliant for some 'home day' inspiration. I particularly like the photo shoot and postcards!

Tkw2014 · 04/09/2015 11:41

Loved some of the outdoor activities like the obstacle course for sunny days. Now it's raining though I better look again at the rainy day ideas!

maureen3733 · 04/09/2015 11:49

i think its great simple ideas. the colour spotting is something that we do already and works really well en route somewhere

sarah3875 · 04/09/2015 12:53

This was a lot better than I imagined! LOVED the photo shoot idea. My youngest learnt how to take a selfie at school (would you believe) and he likes nothing more than snapping away. Going to give this a try!

Dessallara · 04/09/2015 14:57

So many great ideas, love it :)

matphil · 04/09/2015 15:07

Some great ideas on there, we tried out a few and they kept my little ones occupied. Would have liked to see more for older children as well.

handbar · 04/09/2015 15:27

Some fun ideas but the summer holidays have now gone. Another time I would like to see a lot more suggestions as 6 weeks is quite a long time to come up with ideas for.

clarejw24 · 04/09/2015 17:23

Some interesting ideas dor all of the family

joanf · 04/09/2015 18:03

I did rainy day and was pleased with the variety of things to try.

chr1ssy0908 · 04/09/2015 18:09

A great selection of things to occupy us - some new ideas, some I had already known but had completely forgotten! :D

robbo86otm · 04/09/2015 19:12

There are some good suggestions which i've not thought of doing so overall i think it's good

piggypoo · 04/09/2015 19:30

Worth a look certainly, I really like the colour walk and some of the rainy day activities we will give a whirl to!

kerryv · 04/09/2015 19:40

Nice idea to get the kids involved reading these suggestions every day.

clarem100 · 04/09/2015 19:55

I this a lot. Sometimes it's hard to keep them entertained so this gives some great ideas

FUZZ62 · 04/09/2015 20:00

actually quite liked it, will have a look at rainy day activities with my ds when it rains, its nice letting them choose something from sensible activities!

starrybee · 04/09/2015 20:03

Some of the ideas were quite good, I like the one about making a film of their favourite book

Compermo · 04/09/2015 20:11

The ideas were really good, and easy to set up, but sure to generate enthusiasm with the children. I thought quite a few of the indoor ones would be good to do at Christmas or New Year parties for the early evening children's games.

smit23 · 04/09/2015 20:35

Loved it! Tried both sunny & rainy as the weather here CANNOT MAKE UP IT'S MIND!

We were very impressed with all the activities we tried.

mulgrove · 04/09/2015 20:41

Some great ideas but i dont think these would keep them going for long and would get broad lol
