In association with Mini Milk, we've developed a Summer Fun Generator to give you some inspiration for activities to do with your DCs over the summer holidays. Mini Milk would love for you to give it a try, and let us know what you think of the activities.

Mini Milk say "As we head towards the end of the summer holidays, maybe you're struggling to find fun activities to keep your DCs entertained. Try our Summer Fun Generator for some inspiration, and let us know what you think of the activities."

Head to www.mumsnet.com/fun-generator to give it a try

So, what did you think of the activities on the Summer Fun Generator? Did you choose rainy or sunny day activities? Which of the generated activities looks like the most fun? Are you going to try out any of the activities with your DCs? If so, which ones?

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will receive a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Please note your comments may be included on Mini Milk's social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

looks good, always something appealing

wef1984 · 04/09/2015 20:52

Great idea!!! Always need more inspiration in the holidays

brookson · 04/09/2015 21:09

OK seems crazy the amount of wet weather this summer

compy99 · 04/09/2015 21:10

Junk Modelling is my favoured suggestion, many of the others were either far too messy or things we already do!

cagsd · 04/09/2015 22:14

I like some of the ideas, particularly the rainy day idea of a themed day! Sounds like fun )

FrenchieMum2Be · 04/09/2015 22:22

I picked sunny days and the pavement artist suggestion was interesting. Nothing very new though...

mishknight · 04/09/2015 22:27

I picked rainy as they are normally the days I struggle to find activities to do with my DC. Always good to get inspiring ideas like these

ser01 · 04/09/2015 22:36

some really great ideas for bot days :)

sadiewoohoo · 04/09/2015 22:47

Love the fact most of these are just so simple and low cost. Really makes a difference.

lhlee62 · 04/09/2015 22:56

Nice ideas, some were brilliant and others I could leave, but still a great idea

sweir1 · 04/09/2015 22:58

There are some great ideas here

TiggersAngel7774 · 04/09/2015 23:55

fab ideas which i think many of us know, but perhaps dont think of when kids moan im bored.
The water races my son would especially enjoy and would definitely tire him out too, which is a bonus

Purpla · 05/09/2015 02:09

The water wall looks great :)

Good variety!

jamielmdjs · 05/09/2015 02:28

some great, refreshing new ideas. I was expecting just the same, mundane offerings.

great resource.

waterwall is particularly epic.

superkittycat · 05/09/2015 02:53

I thought it was great - I really loved the mini festival idea! Just a really good tool to have for when you're not feeling your most inventive!

javentura · 05/09/2015 07:52

I love the randonness of it. The mini-festival is such a good idea.

embabes7 · 05/09/2015 07:54

Great idea! can be rather taxing trying to think of things everyday - you could also do the generator with the kids as a game so they have the excitement of seeing what they will do today!

cathyov · 05/09/2015 08:31

I looked at rainy days mostly due to our lovely summer. Liked the fact that they were easily manageable and in fairness already knew quite a few of the ideas but it is always nice to be reminded.

cookie09 · 05/09/2015 08:52

Lots of good ideas, it could be developed slightly by adding in an age filter, perhaps adding things in for children slightly older as just based on youngsters

Dottyhols · 05/09/2015 08:54

Great range for sunny and raining days! It nice to find new things to do with the children so I would cheer on any suggestions.

12LuDo · 05/09/2015 09:15

I love this, everything about it is brilliant, from the fact it incorporates different weather conditions, to the child-friendly layout that encourages children to get involved. It's easy for everyone to start lacking inspiration over the summer and this is a great way to get things moving again! Even if it's not a new idea, it would still act as a reminder of something you haven't done in a while! Just one tiny criticism, and I know I'm in the minority here, but why is it so much effort to write 'children' instead of all this 'DC' business? I know it's probably just me, I can't stand 'kids' or 'Xmas' either, it just seems unnecessary. I accept that it's part of the culture of Mumsnet, but if Minimilk want ideas like this to be universal to all their customers, it could cause confusion.

strawberrisc · 05/09/2015 10:33

What an absolutely brilliant idea! What a shame I've only just found it now that my daughter (a pupil) and myself (a Teaching Assistant) are back at school after the holidays!

dangerbadger · 05/09/2015 10:36

It looks fun, but there didn't seem to be any new ides that I hadn't seen before. As someone else said, it would be useful to have an age filter option as well

kmonty · 05/09/2015 12:49

This was great! I was able to locate a museum close by which I didn't even know of.

Deeceeha · 05/09/2015 14:01

Great ideas for rainy days, it's easy to find things to do in sunny weather but I'm always stuck for ideas when the days are cold and wet. x
