Warner Brothers have asked us to find out what Mumsnetters and their DCs think of the trailer for the upcoming movie Pan, releasing in Cinemas on October 16th.

Here's what Warner Brothers have to say, "Peter (Levi Miller) is a mischievous 12-year-old boy with an irrepressible rebellious streak, but in the bleak London orphanage where he has lived his whole life those qualities do not exactly fly. Then one incredible night, Peter is whisked away from the orphanage and spirited off to a fantastical world of pirates, warriors and fairies called Neverland. There, he finds amazing adventures and fights life-or-death battles while trying to uncover the secret of his mother, who left him at the orphanage so long ago, and his rightful place in this magical land. Teamed with the warrior Tiger Lily (Rooney Mara) and a new friend named James Hook (Garrett Hedlund), Peter must defeat the ruthless pirate Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman) to save Neverland and discover his true destiny—to become the hero who will forever be known as Peter Pan. We'd love to know Mumsnetters' thoughts on the trailer.”

You can watch the trailer here:

So what did you think of the trailer? What are your thoughts on the characters? What about your DCs? Would you see it in 3D? Which part of the trailer did you like the most? Do you think you’ll be likely to take your DCs to see the film when it’s released?

Whatever your thoughts, Warner Brothers would love to hear about them!

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will receive a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,

It looks quite dark so it appeals to me.

Peter Pan generally seems to be aimed at younger children but I wonder if this may be a bit mor suited to slightly older children

angiesnowyholland · 29/07/2015 19:32

From the trailer Pan does look a good film. To be honest Hugh Jackman has not starred in a bad film, I am a big fan. Special effects look awesome and will take my boys to see this film. I do enjoy watching these types of films that have a twist to the original story.

PhilTB54 · 29/07/2015 20:19

Like to see in 3D imax screen. Give it full justice.

sputnicki63 · 29/07/2015 20:48

Well it certainly seems like a visually stunning film and one that I'd enjoy seeing in 3D. Great for the older child and adults to enjoy together by the looks of things.

Ryancrawshaw · 29/07/2015 21:49

Looks amazing, epic- only problem for us is that cinema is way too expensive for what it is and we can do the same thing at home for less than half the cost - when its on DVD it will be a must see for us.

dandanrawlings · 29/07/2015 21:55

It looks good, dunno if its too my taste though and I would say its a little to violent to be a kids film

Jenba590 · 29/07/2015 22:02

saw the trailer also at the cinema yesterday when we went to see the minions movie. My 6 year old didn't say anything but my 9 year old who loves the other peter pan movies was really excited at the prospect of seeing what peter pan and james hook was like before the legends began.

Gilla01 · 29/07/2015 22:34

10 year old would probably like it. Personally, I'm not keen on 3D.

Perhaps would be good for a family visit to the cinema, not sure if it would be too good on tv, though, with the smaller screens.

baconbap · 29/07/2015 22:35

doesn't really appeal at all

VictoriaSt · 29/07/2015 22:54

Looks pretty good, won't see it in 3D tho cause it makes my head hurt! Seems to be a film that both adults and kids can enjoy which is always good!

cluckyhen · 29/07/2015 22:54

This looks like a fantastic film for the big screen. DD says she would love to see it yet DS wasn't too bothered. DH on the other hand things it looks great!

Themilseys · 29/07/2015 22:58

More for older children (and adults!) - I don't either of my DD's would be over keen on on watching this but the special effects do look good

robyn297 · 29/07/2015 23:19

I couldn't take my eyes off the screen, looks fantastic, action packed.

Think my kids are a bit young for it, but definitely one that the husband and I will be looking out for on date night.

lindsey3uk · 30/07/2015 00:01

This looks great but I love the Disney version and I am not sure anything will ever beat it!

upthehammers · 30/07/2015 02:41

We've seen the trailer a couple of times at the cinema and each time my 4 yr old and my 11yr old nieces have got excited over it and asked if we can see it when it comes out ..my 3yr old thinks it looks scary though so she won't be seeing it!
It looks like it's made for the 3D aspect which is good but I won't be watching it in 3D as my 4yr old wont keep the glasses on.
I love that it's not a remake and is the 'beginning', also that it looks full of adventure.

piggypoo · 30/07/2015 07:02

A good one to see at the cinema, and crocodiles and 3D are always a winner in our house, a group of us would go, all different ages and we'd all enjoy it, something for everyone! :)

wendybrown · 30/07/2015 09:17

not a fan of 3D, so i'd go see 2D.
Jackman is wonderful - thrilling in his role... and blimey that's a big croc!
Special effects are amazing and seamless/believable.
Definitely one for the family.

snare · 30/07/2015 11:46

My children would enjoy this - looks great :)

mamof3boys · 30/07/2015 12:37

I've seen this trailer a few times at the cinema and I can't wait to see it. It looks so exciting and I know my DS's are going to love it. It looks exactly like our kind of film and I love a remake of a classic story.

xxxxclarexxxx · 30/07/2015 13:24

I have seen a few Peter pan films recently they seem to be a little obsession of my sons at the moment! but i think this looks really good! far better than the ones we have been watching recently a kind of a twist on the story that we all know and love - but Maleficent was the same and i loved that after being a bit unsure at first! so i think it looks fab we will be rushing out to watch it when it comes out! cant wait!

helcrai · 30/07/2015 15:00

Looks a really good film from the trailer- great special effects and one the adults would enjoy just as much as the kids- both I and the kids like the Peter Pan story so would probably want to see this anyhow. My DD2 who is 9, watched it and thought it was "awesome"; she was especially keen to see the film after she saw it was made by the people as Harry Potter (her absolute fave fims!) She liked the flying ships ("just like the ride at Disney") and the crocodile leaping out of the water ("cool").
I thought it looked stunning visually- colourful and action-packed. Would definitely be one I would try and see in 3D. Liked the fact there were some eye candy actors for the mums too and having well-known names for characters makes them more appealing I think. My kids would probably engage with the little boy, being a similar age and the rest looks well-acted too. My favourite part of the trailer was the ship battle scene near the end. I will certainly be taking my kids to see this when it comes out.

TiggersAngel7774 · 30/07/2015 17:47

Looks amazing, best adaptation yet i definitely wanna watch.
But also looks very dark and i think my 7yr old would get scared so be interested to see what certificate it gets.
Definitely top of my list when it comes to DVD

lexie2piper · 30/07/2015 17:57

We'll definitely be watching it but probably not until it's out on DVD as the cinema is just too expensive now! But yes, it looks like a good family night movie to all watch together :)

JWalker23 · 30/07/2015 18:06

Going to be great for the kids :)

VickyRsuperstar · 30/07/2015 20:29

Having watched the trailer, it looks fabulous and really exciting! I'd love to take the kids to it. We really love 3D too as films take on a whole new edge with it. I think it would keep all of my kids happy even though the oldest one is 15 and the 2nd youngest is 3 (my 15 month old is far too young!) I think it's one we will be looking out for.
