Hobbycraft have asked us to find out what arts and crafts activities you’ll be doing with your DCs during the Easter period.

Here’s what they say, “With lots of opportunities for fun over the Easter holidays we’d love to know what crafty activities you’ll be taking part in this Easter holidays! Are you making Easter bonnets, or even creating your own egg hunt or maybe baking with the kids? Here at Hobbycraft we’d love to hear about how you create your own Easter family traditions!”

So, what kind of arts and crafts activities will you be doing with your DCs in the run up to Easter? Maybe you’ll be painting and decorating Easter eggs? Or will you be making Easter bonnets in time for an Easter bonnet parade at school? Whatever it is we’d love to hear it!

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where three lucky Mumsnetters will win £100 Hobbycraft gift cards!

Last year, here at MNHQ we put together a video tutorial on making an Easter bonnet so if you need any inspiration do check it out!

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

P.S. For more Easter crafts ideas, check out our Hobbycraft pages on Mumsnet.

My daughter just got into decopatch, its tearing up bits of decorated paper and sticking it you something. The other day she did a dolphin but used zebra paper, so it looks so funky. I have had a go too and its very easy and quite therapeutic. I am going to find some egg shapes for easter but we are going to decorate them really unusual like using leopard print or demin or something! Cant wait!

Itll be the first year since our youngest (age 6) was born that hubby wont have to work Easter Sunday, so we plan on making it a fabulous fun day... Off to Grandmas for an Easter hunt.. And a yummy lamb roast... Then going to the farm in the afternoon to see all the new babies... Not forgetting some yummy chocolate nest cakes we are going to be making :) xxx

roar349 · 24/03/2015 11:39

It'll be decorating eggs, just need to think of something topical, maybe a Fifty Shades scene with cracks in the right places :)

vicks276 · 24/03/2015 11:54

We'll be painting and customising t shirts

MummaE · 24/03/2015 12:07

We will OBVIOUSLY be doing the Easter Egg Hunt x But in addition we alwasy make cupcakes with nests of mini eggs on top. My DD wants to make an Easter basket out of clay, (so the voucher would com in handy)

They have also asked to do dome egg painting, which I am sure will be fun, watching them get creative

snare · 24/03/2015 12:25

slbhill42 · 24/03/2015 14:13

We're going to try decorating hard boiled eggs but haven't worked out how yet! And might finally do something with the pompom stash :-)

Nuttynelnew · 24/03/2015 14:44

We have to make easter bonnets for school and the older ones are making Celebrities out of real eggs so that should be fun. Although having 7 children and them having 2 weeks off we will do other things also. I was telling them once I made a piggy bank with paper mache and I think we are going to have a go over the holidays x

baconbap · 24/03/2015 15:10

laurapotz · 24/03/2015 15:48

itsmeexxx · 24/03/2015 16:10

lexiemac13 · 24/03/2015 16:27

kel1981 · 24/03/2015 16:44

We'll be doing traditional egg painting for our annual rolling down the hill competition and making baskets for an egg hunt!

tartiflette · 24/03/2015 16:58

We'll be making chocolate cornflake 'nests' and other goodies.
I'm planning to decorate an Easter 'tree' (painted twigs from the woods) with pick tissue paper scrunched up for blossom and green tissue leaves.

Will also be stealing the idea of Easter bunting Smile

NelAllan · 24/03/2015 16:59

We're going to paint and decoupage egg shells to hang on our Easter tree and also with egg shells we'll be growing cress head men. We planning to bake too, hot cross buns, Easter cupcakes and chocolate nests. That should keep us busy. Smile

MissPoppins · 24/03/2015 17:16

We will be making easter cards to give out on easter sunday, decorating hats and painting eggs

avery64 · 24/03/2015 17:32

I will be decorating eggs with the grandchildren just like I did as a child and with their Mum. They have also asked to make Easter bonnets so I have been buying a few bits and pieces each week to decorate them with :)
