Hobbycraft have asked us to find out what arts and crafts activities you’ll be doing with your DCs during the Easter period.

Here’s what they say, “With lots of opportunities for fun over the Easter holidays we’d love to know what crafty activities you’ll be taking part in this Easter holidays! Are you making Easter bonnets, or even creating your own egg hunt or maybe baking with the kids? Here at Hobbycraft we’d love to hear about how you create your own Easter family traditions!”

So, what kind of arts and crafts activities will you be doing with your DCs in the run up to Easter? Maybe you’ll be painting and decorating Easter eggs? Or will you be making Easter bonnets in time for an Easter bonnet parade at school? Whatever it is we’d love to hear it!

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where three lucky Mumsnetters will win £100 Hobbycraft gift cards!

Last year, here at MNHQ we put together a video tutorial on making an Easter bonnet so if you need any inspiration do check it out!

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

P.S. For more Easter crafts ideas, check out our Hobbycraft pages on Mumsnet.

We are marble painting eggs, growing cress, making Easter baskets for our egg hunt, rabbit masks for our animal game and bonnets for fun x

We'll be icing biscuits and making Easter bonnets as well as egg decorating. Last years Easter bonnet went badly so we ended up having to settle for an Easter Top Hat (pictured)

Dd currently mad for Hama beads as well so trying to make some Easter themed ones today... (So far we have an Easter Seahorse- her choice.)

I've got a load of buttons, ribbon and want to do a button tree on Canvas with DS (3), who loves Art & Craft. Smile

We're going to be baking and decorating gingerbread bunnies to give as Easter gifts!

missabc123 · 29/03/2015 20:17

papier mache eggs decorated with glitter and cabochons! possibly some playdoh eggs and making chocolate easter eggs with moulds.

easter bunting from old fabric and a giant hens nest from straw to fit our "pinyata" style easter hen!! (made from tissue paper).

then all the easter party accompaniments, decorating paper plates, mini egg cakes, the lot.

We will be decorating eggs and doing a hunt. DSS also likes cross stitch and I still have some mini easter kits from hobby craft last year.
I love Easter so I like to plan lots of crafty things over the holidays.

We will make Easter bonnets, go for a walk and find a suitable branch to use as our Easter tree and then make new decorations as well as hanging our old/traditional ones on it.

We will make and post Easter cards and I'm debating painting on tracing paper to make stained glass windows.

We are making a mini Easter Garden - just like the ones I used to make at school!
Yesterday we started on papier-mâché covered balloons with DSS 6 and DSD9, which will eventually be tribal masks (ties in with a school project).
I am teaching our eldest DS 12 how to gild at the moment and we are going to blow eggs then decorate them with marbling and gold leaf. He is also obsessed with street art so we have some large boards for him and I'm showing him how to cut stencils.
I have lots of blank canvases so we are making a gallery wall too - so far we have three signed and dated handprints, a fox and a tulip!!
