Hobbycraft have asked us to find out what arts and crafts activities you’ll be doing with your DCs during the Easter period.

Here’s what they say, “With lots of opportunities for fun over the Easter holidays we’d love to know what crafty activities you’ll be taking part in this Easter holidays! Are you making Easter bonnets, or even creating your own egg hunt or maybe baking with the kids? Here at Hobbycraft we’d love to hear about how you create your own Easter family traditions!”

So, what kind of arts and crafts activities will you be doing with your DCs in the run up to Easter? Maybe you’ll be painting and decorating Easter eggs? Or will you be making Easter bonnets in time for an Easter bonnet parade at school? Whatever it is we’d love to hear it!

We are decorating eggs and are making cupcakes for Easter

Painting eggs and will attempt some hot cross buns

Making Easter cards, some Easter baking such as shredded wheat nests with mini eggs, and collecting twigs to stick scrunched up pink tissue paper on to look like blossom.

We will be making easter bonnets and easter scenes like last year for school, this is my kids making them last year:

We might crochet some chicks to decorate the mantlepiece. We've also got loads of other projects on the go including making stampycat bunting and sanding/painting a new table for our craft room.

drawing for one of mine, baking for the next and the youngest is now sewing. I am a really blessed mummy all round with lovely gifts being made.

some Easter baking, might try out hands at a Sinnel cake this year plus egg decorating and a little Easter Egg (if the dogs don't get them first...lol) hunt (depending on weather) in the garden

My daughter and I plan to take full advantage of our time off over Easter to do as much crafting as possible. We recently created a craft studio space at home which organises our craft materials well.

We both like to learn new crafting techniques and regularly watch YouTube tutorials on how to do things. Over Easter we are going to both learn felting and make some small animals. We are visiting Minitura at the NEC in Birmingham at the end of March as we like small things and hope this will be a great source of inspiration.

We also would like to get an embossing tool and powders and make some pastel Easter cards.

My daughter really enjoys model making and recently built a Big Hero 6 playset for herself. She would like to add more to this over Easter.

It is wonderful that we share many of the same creative hobbies.

We will make some cornflake nests- and some chocolate eggs using Hobby Craft moulds from last year.
We will also make an Easter Garden

i am going to make baskets and hats for the boys to wear at school

We have three traditions that we do with the DC at Easter (the week before Easter Sunday as we are too busy eating chocolate afterwards )

1. Dye eggs with onion skins for rolling.
2. Make DD an Easter bonnet
3. Bake Hot Cross Buns on Good Friday This year I am thinking of making Easter cards as well but only if we have time.

We do little cooking projects as the children are quite young. Here is a quickie - let the kiddies decorate rich tea biscuits with squirty icing sugar and hundreds and thousands, they think they have been cooking and it keeps them entertained for hours.

We'll be baking Easter cupcakes, dying eggs, and doing a bit of painting!

We're going to attempt egg decorating for the first time as there is a competition at school.

Last year we held an Easter bonnet making competition and had Granny judge it. This year we might do an Easter garden competition instead. Heres some photos of us last year with our creations.
