The National Lottery would like to know who you would like to pay tribute to on Mother's Day.

Working with the charity Home-Start, The National Lottery gave one incredible Mum the surprise of a life time to thank her for the difference she’s made to so many.

Watch the video below or click here to watch it.

So we want to ask you, is there someone special that you’d like to thank on Mother’s Day? It may, of course, be your own Mum, it could be an aunt or a neighbour. Whoever it is, we’d love to hear a bit about what made them so special to you Smile.

Everyone who adds their thoughts to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

My mum, for being such a caring person and constantly helping people. She's a good example of a good person.

Bexter1307 · 16/03/2015 12:37

I'd like to thank my mother.

I lost my dad at the age of 10 and since then my mam has supported me and my sisters on her own, always making sure we had everything we needed and a happy childhood.

Now I'm nearly 20 and just had my own little girl and realise how hard it must of been for my mam. My partner walked out on me and my little girl when she was only a week old and my mams been there to pick up the pieces and support me.

She's amazing!

My mother in law is always there for my family and me, she makes us laugh, has helped us when times were not so good. She has helped me learn to cook and she makes the best sausage rolls

sharond101 · 16/03/2015 13:15

My Mum, she has seen me through so many difficult times and always seems to know the right thing to say. I can turn to her for anything and she is the most patient, empathic and kind person I know.

rupert23 · 16/03/2015 13:33

my mum because she is there for me and my children. My nan was also fantastic and i spent a lot of time with my lovely nan and grandad as i was growing up .They have sadly passed away now but the memories last forever

Kentmummy1 · 16/03/2015 14:11

My mother in law. She's always on hand to help whenever we, or anyone else for that matter needs her. She organises get togethers with the family that we would all be hopeless at doing. She's just great

anggraeny · 16/03/2015 14:14

My mum. She is an amazing mum!

I'd like to thank my daughters Guides and Brownies leaders who volunteer their time and energy each week. As well as organising weekly activities/crafts/visits they organise camps and trips. My nomination goes to such leaders all round the country - they do a great job :-)

lorka · 16/03/2015 16:38

My mum and mother-in-law. They are always there for us. :)

fionatinkerbelljames · 16/03/2015 16:45

My mum because she is always there for me. Whether it be giving advice, doing me a favour or just doing something together. I always enjoy spending time with her.

monkeygambler · 16/03/2015 17:47

My mum - she is always been there for me, whatever

jennie1984j · 16/03/2015 19:12

My Mum suffers from Lupus and always puts everyone else before herself. She has helped me and my fiance set up our new business this year and without her i dont know where we would be

Kandboys · 16/03/2015 19:45

My mum has always been supportive to me, my husband and my three children. I do need her help every now and again!

Maiyakat · 16/03/2015 20:04

DD's foster mum, who cared for her from when she left hospital until she came to me. To love a child and then let go so they can move on to their 'forever family' is an amazing gift and we will be forever grateful.

At 81 granny Ann is going strong, she dotes on kids - I think it's what keeps her young.
Granny Ann seems to have "lost" her filter, maybe when you get to a certain age you feel more free to say exactly what you think eg we went out for her birthday meal on Thurs and they "could have served her meal on a plate !" instead of a trendy board :o)
We wouldn't have her any other way

stefalfie11 · 16/03/2015 20:44

My mum because she has always supported me through thick and thin even when she hasnt necessarily agreed with the choices that i have made.

boptanana · 16/03/2015 21:01

My stepmum is lovely and really supportive

Theimpossiblegirl · 16/03/2015 21:36

My mum- she raised us on her own with no support from our dad. It was hard but we were happy, healthy and loved.

melmoo · 16/03/2015 22:36

I've just spent the entire weekend in bed ill unable to get out of bed at all. My duaghter has also been ill all weekend with something entirely different and much worse, the details are beyound a blog. Though I've had the worst Mothersday of my life I'd like to thank my husband for hadling it all. I've got up this morning feel better (but drained) to find the house looking immaculate - not like it's been though what it's actaully been through at all.

lhlee62 · 16/03/2015 22:46

My mum and my dad as they are brilliant parents and grandparents. They have offered to look after my 2 daughters when I am in work as I work different shifts all the time with so irregular hours as I'm a shift worker. It has made my life so much easier and put my mind at ease knowing that my daughters are with people who really love and care for them. They also cook us all yummy dinners so I can just come home from work and not worry

matphil · 16/03/2015 23:11

My mum brought us all up to be good mums ourselves, she has been a great role model and will do all she can to help anyone who needs it.

bryonybcomp · 17/03/2015 06:51

I'd like to thank my mum. She's had a really horrible year with losing her own mum, but she's still always here for me.

grandee2 · 17/03/2015 09:43

I'd like to thank some friends for the inspiration they've been to me, one has cared for and loved a daughter through difficult times even when the daughter disappointed her, another cared for her mum for many years even though she has a demanding and full time job. I read one of the posts about teachers and it reminded me of a teacher in the junior school who, when my granddaughter was struggling even to get into school, encouraged her, and welcomed her despite her inability to respond at that time, eventually she won her trust and got smiles when she walked in and as a reward gave her a big star she'd been saving in her desk for that time.

worldgonecrazy · 17/03/2015 09:54

I would like to pay tribute to all of the embryologists out there, without whom I would have no child to call me mother.

The work they do is nothing short of miraculous, and through the heartache and tears, they keep going, because the successes make the failures less painful.

Thank you x

My Mum. She is quite elderly and has quite a few health issues, but she is always so string and so positive. She is a huge inspiration to me.
